  1. Hi guys, Just snagged myself a nice set of fujitsubo extractors/headers Now, from what I can tell, the heat shield on the stock manifold protects heat rising up and heating up the plastic intake pipe, and the resonator assy. (While im at it, could someone clear up what the purpose of the resonator assy is? The big box thing on the main intake pipe?) Anyways, back to the point, putting on the extractors is going to mean the heat shield is gonna come off, cos it wont fit over them. They are stainless steel, and arent coated in any heat proofing, so im thinking this could possibly cause the intake air to heat up, or melt the plastic on the bottom of the resonator assy? Heat shield is obviously there for a reason. Im just wondering what anyone else with extractors did? Even better anyone with fujitsubo ones. Did you just install them with no heatshield? Or did you mount the heatshield higher up on a custom bracket or something? Im guessing most people got their heat proof coated, but id like to avoid doing that if possible, i like the stainless steel shiny look.
  2. The gaskets are the same. I'd recommend getting the half moon as well if you are going to change it. That's the part that usually causes the problem. p/n: 11051-58S00
  3. Thanks guys! Pfcr33, sorry for the late reply, heres what you need to do: - Take the cam cover off - Use a fine wet and dry sandpaper and moisten with some kerosene, and then give it a good clean up with that - After that, use a loose leaf buff to polish them. You want to use the white SS compound which is ideal for aluminum alloys. I have a buff attached to a bench grinder. The white SS compound you can get at bunnings. Takes a fair while to do, so patience is required. Just so you know, they wont stay like that forever either, they will eventually fade. If you need more info let me know and ill go into more detail if you need. I might do a tutorial with pics once i get some free time.
  4. Thanks for the tutorial! Was easy to follow. Had a leak on the car i just bought and i fixed it up. Just to clarify, you need the following parts: 1 x 13270-58S01 1 x 13270-58S11 2 x 11051-58S00 (half moons) I polished mine up and i reckon they came up pretty nice! Replaced my coil over cover too, it was scratched up pretty bad. Check out the before and after pics below. Before: After:
  5. Just a update, i unscrewed the nut out a fair bit and put some sealent around the thread, and its fixed the problem. Cheers for the help!
  6. Yeah thats was i was thinking, hopefully thats the case!
  7. Anyone got any ideas?
  8. Still got the power steering rack?
  9. Hi guys, Ive got a leak coming from my power steering rack on my r33. Nothing major, but i need to fix it. Ive looked in the manual but i cant find anything related to this section about it. Would really like to have some background info before i start opening stuff up. You can see the offending area in the picture. Its just that spot. Is there a seal or something behind that nut? Thanks!
  10. Hey guys, I need 1 r33 stock rim and tire, just to put in as spare so i can get over the pits. Money/booze in it for ya if you help out
  11. Thanks for the advice guys! Appreciate it Yeah previous owner had it pretty low, Ive since then raised it a bit. I noticed if i feel underneath it definitely has scraped something at some point, so thats prob what caused it. Or the respray wasnt done properly. Could be a combination. Hmm thanks for the tip about respraying, i was thinking of getting it done, but if its gonna stick out like you guys said, ill prob just stick with it. It looks fine as is. Might just touch up a few spots and leave it.
  12. Hi all, Recently got a 33 series 2 gts. The front bar is a bit flaky, previous owner said he got it resprayed 2 years ago but its flaked again. Now i noticed that there is no struts or anything on this thing, so if i grab it, i can sorta squish it. Seems to me, that over time when the cars moving, the bumper is moving around/expanding/squishing in slightly, which is causing the paint to flake. Is there supposed to be more support or is this pretty common for skylines to have it sorta just hanging off?
  13. Hi guys, Ive been looking for a skyline for some time now, just waiting for the right one to pop up. Looking at an r33 gtst. Im a complete amatuer, so Ive got a few questions: 1) Bodykits - where can i get them here in Perth? I know i can get them online etc, but is there an actual store i can go to and buy them? Where can i get them fitted too? 2) What do you think is a nice bodykit for the r33? Trust and do-luck seem to be pretty popular from what ive seen. 3) Paintjobs - Any good places you know i can get them done? How much? All help will be appreciated! Thanks in advance
