im in the market for a GTR atm and have cash available thanks to selling/buying house email me some details and number etc [email protected]

Im looking at a R32 GT-R at the moment that runs, but is a bit rough, for $9000. $18,000 is too much for an R32 base don the current prices seen on car sales
-
If it's still for sale when I come down to Melbourne mid March I might have a look

Late March

More GT-R goodness in Motive 11 coming too........

It cost over $10,000 to run the event last time, of which less than half was covered by a sponsor. The rest came from my pocket. Thats right, my personal funds. I put the event on because I enjoy it and to support the scene, not to make money. I'd love to make it free but unless everyone who competes goes out and buys 50 copies of the DVD each, then I will need to charge a nominal fee. $100 for 2 days on a runway with more runs than you can imagine is pretty good value for money in my eyes. The amount of fun had by all makes it well worth it.

The reason we had a minimum standard originally is because Motive DVD paid for the runway, the event, food and accomodatio, making the event free for competitors. We kept it small so we could make time to look at each car and give them equal in-depth coverage. This also made it worth it for the workshops to travel 5 hours to Cootamundra. I am looking to make the event larger and open it up to way more cars but charging a small entry fee of around $100 ( 2 daya at airport mind you). The TV show will stay 22 minutes long but we will make the DVD feature longer. As long as people understand that faster cars get more coverage then its ok. All cars will get same amount of trqck time though. Thoughst please.

whoa whoa whoa... back up GT-R Challenge was started because the drag strip has stupid rules form 50 years a go which stops cars from running into the 10s or faster without ruining their street car. I knew a lot of GT-Rs out there had 10-second potential but couldn't show it properly. That, and the fact that street racing is illegal, meant I wanted to give the guys somewhere to race safely with plenty of room and way more relaxed than the drag strip. Basically I wanted legal "street racing". My own cars might be built for corners but when I got into cars back in late 90's, street-drag GT-Rs in Japan were the coolest thing on earth!!!! I loved watching them, it made me a GT-R fan to begin with, so I guess I wanted to bring some of that back. There are heaps of track days and events to prove how fast your GT-R can go, but there is only one GT-R Challenge. I am working on a series of track days for Motive DVD that will have a "GT-R" class. In regards to having one driver drive all the cars, wont happen. Most people in Australia don't want to let someone else drive their cars. Pus, you built it, so enjoy it. GT-R Challenge will stay drag racing. I will do a different event for corner carvers. But before you say "drag racing is crap", come out to the airport and have a go. You will be suprised just how much fun "street-racing" is in a legal environment.

Will look into the idea, but logistically, it would be easier to build a handling course at the airport. The GTR Challenge started as a drag battle, so that needs to remain the focus. Im working on some other events in the future that takes care of the "corner carvers".

At the moment we dont make a NTSC version as we make DSPORT DVD for the US and some of the content swaps over. We will start making NTSC versions of DVDs in 2011 but a PAL one should still work on your computer and some DVD players. They are all-region disks so you dont have to worry about the region. can order online www.motivedvd.com Thanks for the support guys. I will be talking to Cootamundra Council this week about holding - A Drag Battle in May - GTR Challenge in Sep/Oct Want to allow for more cars in this years GT-R Challenge. Maybe as many as 30!!! ANd maybe a handling course too, like TOTB in the UK
-
Once event is booked in, I will post up entry forms. Anyone will be able to fill out the form and then we will select the best 30 odd cars from the forms. Have to restrict numbers and keep quality high as 250kW@wheels stockers aren't really entertaining on DVD/TV. I'd say the event will be Sep/Oct also looking at a handling course like TOTB in the UK
-
Want to make it even bigger this year. maybe 30 odd cars and open up to general public more
-
There's a little bit of JUN but nothing that shows full potential. Rob, and I, are putting out the invite again for 2011. Anyone want to take on the un-disputed king of street GT-Rs?? This year we want less talk, more action.
-
Its still at newsagents but some of them are un-reliable or choose not to stock it for some reason? Distributor cant force newsagents to stock stuff. If you ask them and they wont get it, or you cant find it, then yes, buying online is the easiest way to go. You guys will also love the R32 GT-R on the cover of the DVD which has its own feature and the credits too......mmmmmmmm...RB26 ear-gasm

video sais it all

Lots of GT-R goodness in this one people's. Has 10 GT-Rs on the cover. Enjoy

As long as we're invited, we'll make it to one at some stage

Very mature keyboard warrior. Next GT-R Challenge comes out in Motive DVD #10 early January. Will have trailer up soon. The SAU-SA track day is in Motive DVD #11 and R32 21st Anniversary cruise is in Motive DVD #12. Will keep you posted

Yeah, one plan came in to land during the GTR Challenge!!! didnt realise a car was there until 50m off the ground. he should learn how to read NOTAMs!!!! Glad you all like it

I run a bolt in cae in my S13 and because its registered and Supersprints dont mandate a cage its all good.

Draga were done on day 1 with dry track All circuit and skidpan were done on torrential rain with a flooded track. Many cars had semi slicks on and were useless around the circuit. Stock Libert GT faster than a Porsche Turbo in those conditions!! Also videos of the event on ninemsn motoring section

Hey guys As you know I don't own a GT-R but the R32 has been my favourite since I got into cars so I couldn't help but come. We even flew back from an interstate job just for it!!! We're holding the GT-R Challenge again next week for Motive DVD #11 so I will try and put the feature on this cruise in the same DVD. I can feel another GT-R based DVD coming along as we just featured 2x R32, an R35 and the Skylines Australia track day in SA!! Good work on organising it Terry!
