G'Day Mate, just wondering if I can install a series 2 steering wheel rather than having my series 1? Will I still be able to retain my air bag?

I really dont like the Series 1 steering wheel, and I was thinking about installing the Series 2 steering wheel. Will the airbag still work? Has anyone ever tried this before?

Dont see how it would make a difference to insurance mate. But i will look into that as well. Apparantley I need to get my mechanic to sign this form: http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/NR/rdonlyre...icleDetails.pdf It basically states that they acknowledge the engine is the same as what came with the car standard from factory. I think someone from vicroads has to come and see it in person as well. <- thats what scares me. Anyone been through this before?

I just finished with an engine transplant on my 33 GTR. My question is do I need to tell VicRoads? My understanding is from the Vicroads website is that I just have to drive down and get someone to inspect and make sure its the same engine. (Which it is just another RB26.) Is it worth me taking my car down, or will I just get defected? Let me know if anyone has had a similar experience.

Took a look at the DIY Tutorials and looks too hard IMO. I just want to spray it black like stock because mine is peeling and looks ugly. Can anyone recommend a good place in Melbourne? Also does the intake plenum have to come off, how big of a job is it, and how much to you reckon it would cost all up?

Item: Complete RB26 Long Engine. including p/s pump, a/c compressor, turbos Engine Klms: 70,000 Description: perfect compression across all cylinders: 175. However cylinder 2 has 115 compression most likely due to ring-land failure as advised by my mechanic. Price: $2000 *Note: Doesn't include ECU & Wiring Loom Engine is in my car at the workshop currently and is still running fine. Engine will be coming out shortly so PM me for details.

So its probably just an electrical problem then? Very strange that it started happening right after I gave it a bit of hard time though? Thats why I thought I had done some serious damage etc. I will take it in to the mechanic first thing in the morning though and we'll see how it goes.

Hi Guys, I own an R33 GTR, got it tuned last monday making 275awkw's. Was very happy with the tune and the most it would ever knock was about 48 when I was giving it alot of stick, which is well below the danger levels. Last night I was doing some spirited driving and I hit the rev limiter accidentally in second gear and I saw my engine light come on, checked my FC Hand controller and knock went up to 168!! Pull over straight away and my catch can looked full of oil, no tapping sounds in the engine, took off the engine cap oil looks brown(perfect), no smoke coming out from the back. basically everything sounded perfect. Really weird thing is that under no load just sitting on idle tapping the throttle it goes up to 219 knock? wtf how is this possible? I just drove my car straight home and didn't take it over 2K. I am taking it back to my tuner first thing tomorrow morning, and im hoping its nothing too serious... i.e rebuild. What are peoples thoughts on the matter? Thanks, Harry

I am after a hand controller for the newer Apexi Power FC Unit for my R33 GTR. I tried to connect the hand controller from my older unit and it doesnt work, just shows the Apexi Screen. Therefore I need the hand controller from the newer Apexi FC ECU, model number of ECU should not start with R33GTR. Instead it needs to start with BCNR33.. etc.

Hi Guys, I just bought my new R33 GTR V-Spec and they had to remove the Apexi AVC-R in order to get Roadworthy. I have tried to re-install it and its 90% done, I only need to know what the last hose connects to, there are three connectors from the actuator. COM - Connected NO - Connected NC - Not Connected and not sure what this is meant to connect to? I have also attached pics so that hopefully someone can help tell me where the last fitment should go? Thanks.
