  1. Awesome glad to hear everything runs well after install. The R35 so needs a proper exhaust growl and might as well throw a Ypipe on the JDM's make them even more special. I'd really appreciate coming up for a visit to Brisbabe in a couple of weeks once I get my 35 back. (should get my car back this week all going well, got delayed need a Con3 to tweak clutches as there too tight. But appears you were right about someone getting a Con3 in QLD which is a godsend ;-) Hit you up in PM once i get my car back. Cheer man
  2. Nice man, looks like a nice pipe. I'm really wanting to get a Ypipe upgrade too but worried about excessive drone or sound. Want a nice grown but not a big drone. Is this a good pipe a good sound that isn't annoying with its drone at daily driving? Everything runs smooth after install?
  3. Not sure about per tank, I remember on my drive back from Melb my fuel consuption screen said I was getting about 9.5 km's per Litre. With normal highway driving. Thats with a Cobb access port installed, boosting hp by 50-60hp though that sure won't help fuel consumption LOL
  4. My mistake, it was from years ago when I talked to the govening body about bringing in my Rx7 from NZ. I remember now it was not the taxes I was worried about, it was the ability to register the car. owning it over there gave you the right to register the car in oz only, then you paid duties. My bad on that one, remembered it incorrectly. I had a NZ$45,000 Rx7 in 2001 trying to bring it into Australia after moving here. The guy's took me through all the taxes about AU$22,000 duties (NZ $30,000 at the time). Then after saying "ok i'll pay it" he said "oh no you can't register it once you get it here without crash tests". I was like "WTF", there was no way at that time to register it in Australia. Couldn't believe how closed Australia's car market was compared to NZ. Australia having a car manufactoring sector of course is the reason and fair enough.
  5. Beer Baron well said. The OZ Tax man is good at what he does. He'll screw you no matter what you do. Best bet is to buy one through your business and save as much on tax that way as you can. Claim part of the GST (upto $6000 I think) & Part of the business investment allowance thingy ($7500? dunno my accountant told me awhile back). When I called them years ago about bringing in my Rx7 from NZ back in 2001, they said they would check your passport and need scans of it to prove you were in that country with the car. Plus a massive headache to do all that stuff. You'll be able to buy a JDM R35 in oz next year for $130k or less. Buy then or wait longer they'll keep coming down. And people who can't afford these cars at $130-150k probably shouldn't buy them cause when they break and they will (most people buy to drive them somewhat hard), they won't like the repair bills at all. not to mention the costs of Tranny & diff oils and regular servicing & $1100 each tire etc etc. We live in a socialist Australia, rich gotta pay for everyone else thats how it goes. And that especially how it goes on luxury cars.
  6. I agree buying over there and holding it for 12 months isn't worth it. BUT my understanding was there is no LCT to be paid on personal cars that you owned overseas for 12 months. And yes they do screw you on the rego, $5500 for regoing a car after paying 33% Lux tax & 10% GST is just so wrong. Hows this, my car was registered in Melbourne by the first owner he had to pay $6000 to rego it in Melb, then he sold it brand new to me, I drove to QLD, registered it there another $5500. Thats $11500 in Registration fee's on one car. Australia we don't like tall poppies around here!
  7. ok cool. PM me your contact details i'll be in touch soon. Where is your pictures of the one you installed? i didn't see that. I just liked the idea of the smallest camera inprint and direct wiring with the JDM cockpit screen. most importantly how tiny the camera is, is whats important to me.
  8. Yeah annoying they should of wired the Aussie ones up like they did on the JDM's. Anyone know where I can get someone in QLD to source & fit an Offical Nissan JDM Rear camera? Not interested in other aftermarket mass up's that work on ADM's, I'd prefur an offical JDM Nissan camera for plug and play for my JDM 08 R35.
  9. Wow that is one ugly ass car
  10. Hey Martin Thanks for the pictures. That gives me a much better idea of what happend. Seen pictures on Nagtroc with a guy in Bangkok who looked to have an almost exact part issue as this one. Looks like this GR6 transmission has some issues here and there even without launching. At least we got you to fix them if they blow up on us now :-) It certainly did feel like changing gears with a manual with clutch half in. Slow clunky changes. Can't wait to try out the new tranny fluid especially if its smoother. Damn can't wait to drive my car again LOL. Just heard your shipping it back today or tomorrow. Will post some pictures once she's back on the road running with the new transmission cooler.
  11. My pleasure bro, yeah thought it might of been you from the PM Sorry about my rather pessimistic view on the JDM's in my PM reply weeks back, you got me on a bad day when I was missing my R35 I think a bit more than usual. I drive a Mirage with no air con while my baby sits without a drivetrain in a workshop all by herself, and doh the wife gets dips on the 350z go figuire haha. Looks like you've done your research, and yeah the community in OZ has certainly grown in the past few months a great deal. A Consult 3 in QLD would be a very welcome addition, lets hope it happens at some point.
  12. Thanks Mitch. You'll be hopefully shipping my transmission back to GC in a few days, it will have your special Willall racing Trans oil put in and your transmission cooler attached when reinstalled. After i've seen how it drives i'll probably place an order for the diff oil in short order as well. I've read so many good reviews on forums of people around the world with your oils in their R35's. Just need to experience it first hand before replacing it myself in all area's of the car.
  13. Yep the R35's BIG...... SHE GOT A BIIIIIGGG ASS!! But I love big asses so thats ok :-)
  14. Nice man congrats, looks sweet in white. They sure are an amazing car to drive, fun as hell to drive, the accelleration is insane. I agree the visabiliy is bad out the back, although my tinks are so dark nothing can see in including me seeing out lol. but yeah alot of looks requires a very dark tink. i'll be looking at a JDM rear camera soon too the JDM's come prewired. I had the almost EXACT journey. Saw online, flew to Melb bought the car, drove it back to the Gold Coast. about 4 months ago. The car is great on the long drives and after a 900km drive from Sydney to GC I wasn't tired or sore. Harsh hard ride in reviews is rubbish the car is nice and comfy, city at slower speeds its a little bumpy but not uncomfortable. I had a Cobb accessport on mine when I bought it also a JDM 08. You'll love the extra power the cobb gives and it plugs in real easy. I'm planning on a Y-pipe later in the year too. Unfortunately my JDM had one of those annoying transmission problems at 6000km's with a clutch seal pressure thingy cracking inside transmission, gears just stopped changing smoothly after giving it a hard take off (never launched ever just an aggressive hit on the throttle in R mode) and turns out a seal cracked that controlled the oil pressure on the clutch plates (or something like that). Transmission was shipped to Willall Racing in Adelaide and Mitch and the guys there have fixed it up and machined a better part than the crappy faulty Nissan seal. Luckily we have good workshops like Willall Racing pushing the aftermarket repair's on the R35's in a big way. makes life alot easier for us JDM owners and for ADM owners who mod there cars. I dunno if this is a 2007/2008 JDM type issue but i've read of a few 07/08 JDM's in NZ,Bangkok, Singapore, OZ & mine with small transmission problems like these, most repairable. Not sure if it was the early model years or if its cause these cars dont' have warrenties that we hear about them more than the USA, EU,AU ones who have warranties. Take good care of your transmission, they sure as hell are NOT bulletproof. Not having a Nissan Warranty means a long wait if repairs are needed to transmissions like this. Certainly look into Willall's Tranny oil (haven't yet tried it but will find out in 1-2 weeks time when I get my car back and will post on here how it drives, its meant to be smoother, hopefully it drives as well as the standard stuff, the race teams seem to like it. My garage Eurotune on the GC highly recommend the Willall Racing transmission cooler from there experience with these type of transmissions in other cars they say they can cook pretty easy (and it gets hot up here in QLD and I like to drive it hard LOL). If your taking it to the track I think that would be a wise investment to look into. BTW since the JDM R35's cant generally get access to a Consult 3 as Nissan Australia just won't touch the JDM's, the other advantage of the Cobaccess port is it lets you clear error codes in the car and also find error codes that are displaying. You can download the R35 USA mechanic manual for the car on the forums around the place too (nagtroc forums). Might help giving it to your local garage for servicing/repairs. I read on a forum last week Willall Racing saying they have a Consult III now which is good to know at least someone in aftermarket has one in OZ now if something super tech breaks in the beast. Congrats on the purchase, don't mean to scare you on the transmission stuff, you'll probably have no troubles I was probably just unlucky. Just wanted to let you know the stuff i've learnt from owning a JDM 08 and places to service it and repair it if you do encounter any problems. There's peace of mind knowing anything can be repaired in OZ now. Before I found out about Willall Racing ability to fix transmissions in the R35 I thought I'd have to fly out a tech from Singapore or ship the car back to Japan if something big broke.... um like the transmission LOL. Cheers
  15. I'm wondering when is a good time to change out the diff fluid. i'm at 6200 km's now not sure if I should of done it already?

    Top Gear Oz

The 350Z is "UGLY ass bucket"? and the 370Z is pure "PORN"??? LOL they are pretty similar shaped cars. Thats like saying the Porche Cayman IS GROSS but the Porche 911 is pure PORN. They are still pretty similar.
  17. Yeah but hey its like cool to tell people you got NITRO in your tires dude. like thats one of the reason's we bought this car. (kidding) Also first day I bought my car in Melbourne had the tire sensor go off, went to a local Bob Jane they topped all 4 tires up to normal pressure for $40 total. All Bob Jane's now have Nitrogen on hand I believe.
  18. Yep agreed, Black is the nicest colour...... After super silver that is.
  19. The R35 looks like SHIT in almost all photo's of seen of it online. But in the flesh its bloody beautiful has a big presense and the quality of the build of this car shows through. When compared to Ferrari's yes it looks very different, its not trying to be $500,000 supercar with curvy sexy body shape, its trying to be a unmistakenly JAPANESE supercar that you can drive everyday and not feel like a show pony showing off just for driving it. I wouldn't use a Ferrari 430 as a everyday car but I certainly do use a R35 for everyday use. The amount of looks you get in a R35 WOULD not happen if it was UGLY.

    139k Jdm

I was quoted $170k for a Super silver back 3 months ago, so it would of been $167,000 brand new premium ADM one including everything at the time. Your pricing your car at $2000 discount on what it would of cost when you got it and your car comes with a great deal of unknown thrashing by manager. When spending this much i'd rather get a fresh one for a tiny tiny bit more. Although some people hate to wait.
  21. Lets be real here, the R35 is not exciting to drive around town. Its just not. The paddle shift doesn't help that either. Thats why you buy a 370Z if you want a manual fun car to drive at slower speeds. I wouldn't want the R35 to be in manual it would take away a huge amount from the performance and would take away the special supercar luxury feel (as most cars do not have such a sporty DSG gearbox). But yes its not as much fun to drive, and lets face it guys you drive the damn R35 around in Auto mode almost all the time. It quickly shifts to 6th gear at 60km's an hour and if you drove this thing around town in manual mode all the time you'd burn through a tank of gas every 2 days. I drove mine back from Melborone to Gold Coast. It was funny I would hit a nice open road and put the foot to the floor. I could seriously watch the petrol guage going down while I hit the throttle hard, It seriously sucks that much gas when floored. Thats why its rather boring to drive around town in auto. (boring compared to a 350-370Z quick changing gears, semi drifting around round abouts at 50-60km's that is lol). Still not boring when you put your foot down, that is where the fun is. This is just a different type of car, one that can't go slow and feel exciting.
  22. Yeah saw it months ago, funny as hell. I love the "He won't sell it, he's already ordered his access port" LOL
  23. I Find it funny how many people say "oh the GTR an't much of a looker, its pretty ugly when compared to other exotics". But at the end of the day its a $175,000 car, looks better and more exotic than a BMW M3, far better than a Cayman S, doesn't look like a common as anything Porche 911 (turbo or non turbo, they all look the same). People flog this car as ugly, then when people see it in real life they drool all over it. Its unapologetically Japanese and unapologetically Masculine. Those 2 things I love the most!
  24. Thats true the car hides the speed so well since its so well balanced and stable at sub sonic speeds, you have to be very careful of where you put your foot down and let off your foot before your eyebrows fly off.
  25. Love what the boys can do these days with photoshop. Amazing how UGLY as shit that R35 looks in convertible, not surprisingly though the R35 wasn't exactly designed to be the most beautiful of beast's :-) Although I love how my R35 looks and wouldn't change a thing, its Jap Muscle, not designed to look good in soft top.
