Ok I like the Wald bodykit EXCEPT those flared guards around the back wheels. That just ruins the entire car & bodykit at the same time. Not to mention the price of this body kit is US$10k or something ouch. I like the diffuser and the front and the side skirts, pity about the flared guards what were they thinking. The amount of R35 owners who wouldn't touch the kit after seeing those guards would be high.

Out of all car brands in Australia in a survey i read last year, AUDI's had THE WORST resale value of ALL brands ever. If you buy one it will go down the most over its new price. Australian's don't know or respect Audi's I guess. Dunno its just not loved by Aussies the way BMW's are. I don't know about you guys, but I bought my R35 to keep, i an't selling it so could careless about resale. Its the only car its its price for performance, looks & kudos. The closest thing to it is the BMW M3 which I was thinking about buying till I drove it and thought it was boring as hell, and slow as hell compared to the R35.

I've used one of these FM radio transmitters before on an IPOD in my other car. The quality was not good at all since having to go through a bad FM band or something. Is this Belkin unit give REALLY good quality or do you notice a noticeable drop in quality over a normal song playing off your music box?

Haven't heard of that, sounds like a royal mess though. Sounds like they are trying to hide the fact of how much the car's are being overpriced because of the state & govenment taxes. I loved how one of Labour's first moves into paraliment was to up LCT from 25% to 33%. Before the economic crises and when they had a 22 Billion surplus ffs. They probably put half that extra money turnwards our new Rudd firewall plan to control our internet for us.
-
They raised the price in the USA by $7000-8000 stately extra production costs. That price is the reason for the $8k price increase I believe in Australia as well. For all cars delivered after June 30th or something like that.
-
Thanks for the LCT & GST breakdown, interesting. Part of life living in Oz is high taxes. Especially now with Rudd in power, those that can afford a GTR get ready for alot more taxes in the future budgets, last budget was nothing compared to the next few years of rich taxes coming our ways. The employee's are in charge of the govenement for now, burning through cash and ruining the balance sheet of the country. Once the debt's start getting out of control and the govenment starts losing too much money & jobs then the employee's (voters) will vote back in a CEO to run the country again so they can fix the mess.

True there margins on cars in Australia are always higher. And i'm sure they are marking it up nicely from the exchange rate to boot. hey always put in a large margin to They make sure they won't lose money in the future so put in a hefty margin in the exchange rates for themselfs. Its funny, you get cars like the Audi R8. Which was retailing a couple of years ago for like US$120,000 when the exchange rate was 95cents on the US dollar. I went to the Audi dealership and asked how much they said base model with no extra's AU$285,000 (with extra's 310,000 or so). I was like "I don't care if you add on $90,000 in luxury tax, stamp duty it doesn't add up to $300,000 compared to the US". He couldn't give me an answer on why with a extremely strong exchange rate prices dont' drop even a little. Car importers must of made a killing when the exchange rates were 95cents on the dollar.

Nissan doesn't up the price it's the 33% luxury tax + 10gst +3.5% State stamp duty + $800 rego on to. It's cause our govenment rapes us is why these Nissan R35's are so expensive.
-
Yep you gotta remember the extra taxes, $300,000 on road easy for that GT3. And the sad ass part of the GT3's. Most people dont' know the difference between the 911 (non turbo) $160,000 weak ass power and the big GT3. They look to similar. There are just too many porches in the Gold Coast i'd never buy one there just so common here. Great car i'm sure but I prefur to have a unique car when spending this much money.
-
Sounds like a great part, you keep your warrenty and get to enjoy the benifits of a Cobb access port upgrade. Assuming its similar to there tuning. Considering the cost of the car its well worth the rent in my mind. At least till the warrenty runs out.

Agreed, honeymoon period people are just amazed to see a R35 in the flesh. Nobodies tried to drag me yet either which I don't mind at all. I did have a pretty cool race with a motorbike last month though. I think that's the more likely drag races we'll have in these R35's cause no other car can come close.

Yep got the mag today after your post, good read. They loved the GT2's raw power and driveability. And said the GTR was great but didn't compete with the GT2 because of its massive extra Kilo's and less horsepower. Funny they mentioned Targa Tasmania GTR guys who were going to go up against the likes of GT2's. And nice to see a cut down powered up GTR beat the GT2 in that race. Ultimately the GTR was built to compete with the GT3 cause both are everyday driver cars, it beats the GT3 in every test & is almost half the price. And obviously with some tuning & weight reduction it can beat the GT2's as well.

I have to agree with you on this, I use my R35 as a daily driver and what you said here is SPOT ON accurate 100%. At normal speeds it does feel a bit uninvolving, and yeah didn't love the 6th gear at 60km's myself either but they did have to do that or you'd be going to the garage for fuel every 200km's. I think I go there every 250km's as it is LOL. If Ferrari had to come up with a everyday driving car I'm sure they'd have to make some sacrifices to achieve this also. After reading your post I'm going to look into tracking my R35 soon to really enjoy it, now i've found a place I can repair my car at decent prices if it breaks Gave it a crack on some empty roads at times and its just so exciting to drive anywhere near its limits I gotta experience that on a track. This car is so stable its like its designed to drive at 160km + speeds and anything below is childs play to it.

He doesn't like the door handles, thats one of my favorite parts. LOL
-
Thats all well and nice bro, but for those that have a R35 with an Australian warrenty i suggest you take care of it. The clutch can't be replaced like a normal car its part of the damn Transmission. Blow the clutch blow the transmission in Nissan's mind, last time I checked Nissan dont' repair them they only offer you a brand new Transmission under warrenty, or not under warrenty and a $25-30k bill attached. You can repair them through some top garage in Adelade though at your own cost. And yes these trannies chunk themselfs even ones never once launched. Drive it hard like you would a WRX and if you blow the clutch in the tranny say hello to a big repair bill if you haven't got a warrenty.

Wow you really like your Satnav eh LOL I'd be more interested if they put the CF card like the JDM's in it so you can easily copy your music to the car somehow. Go Test drive one if you can, once you do you'll forget all about your satnav obsession. Take a spare pair of underware with you though

This Author has no clue, he got his jollies off by driving his freaking ute around a corner 'a little' sideways and thought that was more fun than the R35 cause the R35 didn't feel like fun driving below the speed limit. He wants to drive a sports car that feels fun to drive at slow speeds. I'm sorry they gave the R35 review to the wrong guy. Sure the R35 doesn't have a Ferrari engine growling behind you and has alot of cool technology. That doesn't make it soulless. The car is built to go stupidly fast and wow is it exciting when you do drive it at that level. It feels exciting knowing that you put the foot down you just go into warp speed. I can only imagine how much fun this car must be on the track. After doing a few very fast corners and dropping the hammer in safe wide open roads and corners its alot of fun near even remotely near its limits. For the performance and beautiful build quality & amazing style of this car for the price it is. There is NO comparision to ANY OTHER CAR! As Top Gear said "They built a new yard stick". The R35 is a supercar at a huge discount. Even for us Aussies who pay through the butt for the car compared to everyone else its still great value.

I Swear Nissan should FIRE every photographer they hire for shooting there cars. They are HOPELESS! That 370Z looks so ugly in those photos but in real life they look pretty nice. I saw one driving around the Gold Coast near my office today big rims in White it looked super stylish but those photo's make it looks weird looking. The same I found for the R35. I personally HATED almost all the photo's Nissan put out on the R35, thought it was ugly till I saw it in real life and just about had a heart attack at how sweet it looks in the flesh. Dunno what it is but Nissan's photo's just look like crap & boring. Maybe its me I dunno. but there cars always look twice as good in the flesh.

Ouch for the dog and for your backpocket. I hit a rabbit once at 150km's split my Rx7's front end. god knows what a dog would do to a front end.
-
I highly doubt that is possible in the JDM R35. Not a big deal most of the important stuff is in English or semi english. (the important stuff). Satnat and a few other things to do with voice regognition is all Jap though.
-
I saw a USA video review of the R35 and the guy said the laptimes buttons on the steering wheel record direct to the CF card for review later. Never tested it on my JDM. as the laptimes thing is very confusing being all in Japanese.
-
Love to know if this is possible in the JDM. God knows how you'd navigate through the menu's without a Japanese person to help though.

Agreed, car is so fast that everyday driving it handles so effortlessly its certainly not exciting to drive around normal packed streets with other cars. And the engine doesn't throw out a MASSIVE V10 sound its a very quiet car sound inside cockpit with stock mufflers. HOWEVER, if you have even a couple of sections of road where you can flood it or even take off from the lights fast just those 1-2 instances can easily make up for it. The sheer accelleration is just mind blowing and brings a smile to your face in short order. I think the best thing to do is get a test drive and so you'll have the best idea of the accelleration and then get an idea of how it putt putts around in auto half the time.

The ADM not having a decent way of moving music onto the car was a big one for me that was so cheap of Nissan removing cf card. Perhaps the AUX in could have an plug attached that plugs into the iPhones? I'd be interested in putting on a JDM reverse camera if anyone has success buying an fitting one please pm me if ur selling them.
-
I agree I don't mind the clunking in mine, its a super performance machine. You don't want it to be as quiet as a Honda Accord you want a bit of gear box sound to remind you your driving a supercar.
