  1. Yeah, its for a stagea, however I am converting mine to manual. The accelerator should fit fine, however the stock stagea automatic brake pedal is a fair bit bigger than a manual one. Clutch pedal is from a manual stagea, which should be identical to an R34 one i believe. And I will need to replace the footrest with an r33 or r34 one as well.

I can't say for sure, but I think it should be straightforward to fit these pedals to a 260RS stagea, or an RS4-S pretty easily, as they are both manual models.

  2. Nope not them, but its another dealer that puts youtube videos that also doesnt know much about the car.

The father (whom the company is named after) says our stageas have a 2.5L VQ35 turbo engine!

Would you buy a car from someone who knows nothing about them?

Edward Lee's? Almost got sucked into buying a 180sx from them early last year, came to my senses before spending the money though.

So many bad stories about a lot of the places on parramatta road though, most of them are as bad as each other.

  3. Yup, FAST is the best way to know for sure as the other guys have said.

Another indicator its not the real deal, is if in the middle of your cluster theres a line going down that has P R N D 2 1 on it. 260's have this covered up by a strip of plastic i believe. Although you can cover it on a manual conversion as well, it's often left alone.

  4. What size tyres did you use?

And if you are at stock height, lowering it will definitely start to get the wheels tucking in a bit. Guards lipped + pulled or flared, it could still work out. Could be worth checking with a body shop if they can get it working on stock guards before selling off the wheels.

Not sure if you have said, have you seen it yourself? Or have you got some pics of how its looking at the moment?

  5. I'm not sure if they will fit without hitting on the strut, if they do fit then they will be sunken inside the guards heaps.

Also, for an RS4 due to the ATTESSA system you would be better off running the same width front and back, unless you work out the tyre sizes so you can maintain the same front and back rolling diameter.

  6. Thanks for your reply. See my replies to your answers in red below.

Blow off valve is no where to be seen...? (can anyone tell me exactely where to look?). And it is also fairly quiet, which is also good.

As both the exhaust and BOV are quiet, and the car looks nice, simple and stock from the outside with the 17 inch Volks (not 20inch chromies), I feel pretty sure I "should not" have too much strife with this car. I live in a country town with a population of 25,000 though so there aint too many schmick cars about...

Thanks for your answer SMOKEY ol' mate.

If you get pinged for all of those things you'll be in a fair bit of trouble, but it's not likely to happen. The average traffic cop might notice a few of those things, but not all of them.

Best bet for a car as modded as this though is to get a full engineers report, that can be enough to stop the cops bothering with any defects.

I'll try to answer some of your questions

100mm rule means the lowest point of the car must be over 100mm high. I think this includes bodywork, i.e sideskirts or front bar, but not 100% on that.

Brake lines have to be ADR approved, by law. Just the way it is

Not having a cat converter will get you sent straight to EPA, which can cause major headaches. If you don't have one then get a highflow cat put in there. Easy to see if you have one or not, get under the car and take a look at the exhaust, the cat will be just after the front pipe leading down from the engine bay.

From what I have been told, turbo timer isn't actually illegal, however leaving your car running while you are not in it is illegal. Although you could still be defected for it. I don't have one myself, just let the car idle for a minute or two after driving hard, or take it easy for the last 5 minutes before you park the car.

The seats may be a problem if the rails don't meet ADR's. I know BRIDE rails don't meet ADR's, because they have never gone through the testing process over here. Don't know if that is the same with Recaro rails.

I'm guessing with the BOV, but if it is in the same position as on GTR's, it will be on your intercooler piping before the intake plenum, hidden down by the front bar.

Living in a country town can be a bonus, I'm currently in Bathurst (home of the v8 bogan), had my car for over a year and haven't had any police dramas so far, knock on wood. They don't seem to care as much about defecting out here as they do in Sydney

  7. did use a 32R box yes. No crunch is "normal" might be a common issue but not normal.

yeah, normal was the wrong word to use. Either way, it's not an unusual thing, apparently only really happens when changing into 4th quickly, especially at high revs.

There's a good chance the redline shockproof will get rid of the noise, but it won't actually fix the problem.

  8. My driver's side one decided to come off at 110kph: not much fun holding it against the a-pillar in traffic, whilst trying to change gears, indicate and and steer...!!

pulled the rest off when I stopped, and you're right: they must have used glue, tape, chewing gum, and dried weetbix to secure those suckers! Thus far, I've just left thr dregs attached (ugly), but since I have a spare downstairs, and the roof rails arrived, I think I'll leave it to the pros to remove what's left.

I am undecided whether to remove the passenger side as well, or fit the fresh driver's side one- pillarless windows has me concerned about not having any protection from water/wind noise... opinions? Has anyone removed their weather strips? notice much difference?

I removed mine after they both cracked down the entire length of the strips, haven't noticed an increase of wind noise really. Although I normally dont hear any wind noise anyway, with the combination of loud exhaust and music always on. I haven't had any problems with water leaks after taking them off though.

The remnants of the double sided tape is a pain in the arse to get off as well, I still haven't got all of it off.

  9. Hehehehe too true... but add 2 kids, 2 baby seats, and a ridgeback dog and a subwoofer...

Now fold the seats down?? - squash the kids... let the dog run through the car... and jam the bike handle bars through the sub???

    :P

noo, don't damage the sub! :)

I'd personally go for a towbar and bike rack, as the towbar allows you to use a trailer as well if you ever need to. However, it's a good point that was mentioned about the insurance possibly not covering a bike.
