One issue is that your loan will be based on the price you are buying the unit, which will be via a valuation etc. Adding money on top of that for personal reasons eg. car may be difficult unless you get a seperate personal loan. As a real estate agent myself i would strongly suggest getting a unit, especially with the offer your dad has given you! It will undoubtedly set you up for life! I would suggest putting the money you had for your car in as deposit - a little for a run around, and then organise your loan with the bank as tenants in common with your father. When this is done everything wil be 50/50 obviously. Benefits are you have your dad as back up on payments etc. You will have tenants in the property and if you are buying the right property your rental income will cover repayments +/- a minor amount. Another benefit is that you can claim any depreciation on fixtures and fittings as well as interest on the loan if it is an investment property. Yea their's alot more to the story then what you have said. He's far from incompetent if he has a set up his own succesful exhaust shop at Aspley... He's did most of the work on myskyline and i was very happy with what he did...

Most places will have a set fee. Just call a couple of places and ask them how much they charge per hour etc..

I saw a white 33 with a painted black bonnet last night and personally i jsut think it looks cheap. If you want the look you are better of getting a carbon bonnet, they are not a great deal more expensive when you need to replace the bonnet anyway.. Also i think it should look good on silver if you have a kit and wheels etc..

Was it a modified one? I looked into this and their isnt a great advantage, first of all you have to get an earlier model car then whats available here, and you end paying almost the same price anyway.. I couldnt justify myself buying a 1992/1993 model car for $30 - $30k when you can pick up a S15 01 with 15,000km's for the same price.. just_grouse i had a look on another forum and saw a couple of black S15's 2 mildly modified sold for $35k and standard one for around $32...

The prices are a little differant here in QLD, but the 01/02 go for around $32k - $40k and anything before around $30k. I have only seen 1 or 2 below $30,000... I am going to get a modified one to try and save some money.. I'll let you know if i find anything..
