The security dude said he got the spares off you, 4 of em in fact in a green pack... unless it was some one you were with... anyways thank to who ever it was. I know. What I meant was, in my panic to get the car moving I didnt build up any revs. Took off at about 1500rpm...

BP Ultimate is good. Synergy and optimax i've found isn't quite as good. Basically just stick to high octane fuel, thats what the engine was designed for.

How good is Legal Off Street Draging?!?!!?! Fantastic fun, shame about the weather tho. First of all, BIG THANKYOU to Leewah for helping my car pass the scrutineering by providing me with a whell nut. Must've fell out on the way coz it was definatly there on satdi arvo. Leewah if you want them back just pm me and i'll get them too ya... Anyways after the car was given numbers I managed to pull: 15.209 @ 87.98, 60' 2.817 15.306 @ 97.11, 60' 2.610 14.370 @ 98.79, 60' 2.407 The first run I wasn't ready for the light to go green so qiuckly, hence lota lag. The second run far too much wheel spin, and the third was almost perfect. I only had 3 runs coz I went for lunch and never came back... It was still raining at 2 so didnt really see much point returning. The tyres were prolly my worst enemy. They were cherping changing into forth! 205s at about 32psi will prolly do that tho. Oh yeah, Congrats to SAU Vic!!! Keep the events coming!!

6x9s are only good if you want loudness (because of the bigger surface area of the cone), so are shit. Round speakers wil ALWAYS sound better for the simple fact that they are indeed round. Sound travels in a spherical form, not an oval one. You need at least some rear fill. I agree that it sould not be as much as the front stage but it has to be there. Stereos with a big sub(s) and only a pair of splits sound over bassed most of the time because the splits simply cant move enough air to keep up with the sub. Finally, no ones doubting your knowledge on car audio, you probably just have a different taste for sound than some of us.... by the way, some of us here my know a thing or too as well

Its not the only reason I'm voting Libs. Labour just spends. Spend spend spend. Voter: "Wheres the money gonna come form?" Labour: "It doesnt matter."

Sorry cant help there... try the Pioneer Aus web site... You've got the right idea tho, its stuffed.
-
This might be a silly question but is the cartridge pushed in properly? Remember, you can shut the door without the cartridge clicking into place...
-
Geez, didn't take much!! I dont know, but I reckon the fronts would be 6.5s. I put 6s in the rear but they needed spacers. This was a ridicuolously annoying task! Wood is better for this because its stronger than plastic. The speakers wont transfer as much energy through the wood, which means they are more likely to convert the power delivered into actual sound rather than movement and rattles. Basically the stronger the mount/enclousure, the better the sound.
-
The same thing happened to mine. It was under the seat, and a piece of fabric (from the seat cover) got jammed in there and it basically shut down. Check if anything has slid in with the cartridge... One other thing I can think of is that the pioneer stackers have an adjustment on each side that lets it know if its installed horizontally or vertically. I'm not 100% but I think they have to be set the same on both sides for it to work (and set correctly)... worth a look anyway...

I saw that car.. prolly on the same day that pic was taken... very nice ! I'm thinkin of a boot install for my 33. You guys done any 33s before? I'm thinking amps in the floor, and subs behind the tail lights angled toward the middle of the boot. I've been quoted $1200 which includes 2 Fusion amps. Can you guys better that?? I've got everything else ready to go (ie 2 10" JLW3 subs, splits, etc). Just need amps.

And our ears would be bleeding! hmmm 200W RMS speakers... I spose they'd go as hard as a car with 200rwkws! NICE!
-
So they're 6.5 in the front doors?? Before you said this:
-
When looking at stereo equipment, never, never, EVER, judge it by its music/PMPO/peak power ratings. These ratings often mean nothing, it could mean the point at which the voice coil melts! A 200W peak power rated speaker could prolly only handle about 20W RMS. Thats why when you put 75W RMS in to a 200W peak/music rated speaker they distort. 75 RMS is prolly closer to 1000W peak!!
-
One other thing, speakers in a series 1 might be different to series 2???
-
Everyone has a different opionion to what size the speakers are. The rear shelf speakers on a series 1 R33 are definately 6.5 inch (I actually installed them myself). I havent got round to installing the fronts yet but I would assume they're the same size (judging by the size of the hole). It'll take about 20 minutes to take the door panel off, measure the stockie speaker, put the panel back on, and go down to the nearest car audio place and get the size that fits.

Does the aerial come up when the radio is turned on??? If I doesnt this is the cause of you problem. You may have to reconnect the other wire which signals the auto aerial... Its the only thing I can think of...

For info on the "Road Angel" go to Save Your Licence!!

I'll enter YOUR car in the burn out comp! Hmmm new tyres should produce plenty of smoke!!!!

This is certainly the way I've been doing it. But lately (ie ever since they revamped the look of the site) the translation page has been a bit farked (after you hit translate it just reloads the translation page). If you keep trying it usually works after a couple of goes tho.

Try cleaning the air flow meter. Many times this will iron out rough idle... unless something more serious is around the corner.

Just got word that they are now mine!!!! They came in at 56,500Y (~$832), transport in Japan is 14,500Y to make a grand total of 71,000Y(~$1045) FOB. GST looks like it'll be $80 odd, duty $130, and about $50-$150 for freight. So it looks like a brand new set of Rays 18x8s will be mine for about $1400-$1500! Not bad considering they go for about $2500 normally!
-
And another pic...

I'm currently waiting to see if I've won a set of wheels on the Yahoo Auction in Japan. The bidding closed about 4 hours ago and I was (... well I think I was) the highest bidder with 41,500Y. By the time they get here should cost about $1000 (If I've won them *fingers crossed*). I'm able to do this thanks to J-SPEC Imports . Thanks heaps!!!! They're 18 x 8 made by Rays Eng for a company called Brunt. Brand new as well...

All I have to say to that is wait until you actually get you licence and get a fine for doing 57 in a 50 zone (Like I did a few weeks ago)!!!! As for the realisation that they cannot live without the revenue, wasn't it the Kennet government that cleaned up the massive financial mess/debt that Labour created??????????? Labour cannot live without the extra revenue, not the Liberals. Bring back the 10% I say. Getting a fine for 54 in a 50 zone is just ludicrous, ridiculous, and completely lacking logic. The Ford EA Falcon came out of the factory with a dodgy speedo. When the speedo says you're on 100, you're actually doing 105! This was in an issue of Wheels mag a while back. What hope have we got!!!!! As far as I'm concerned Bracksy boy ( :whackit: ) can get stuffed :upurs: !!!!!
