  1. Sorry to bump an old thread. Can someone please elaborate on the correct removal of the carbon canister and legalities of this? Cheers!
  2. I'll take one for sump, one for diff and one for tranny. Thanks!
  3. I have a couple of brackes already bolted on top of my parcel shelf in the cabin
  4. I have a cou[ple of brackes already bolted on top of my parcel shelf in the cabin
  5. for the ten billionth time, s13 will not fit! neither will anything else. GTR mount points are different (I think) cause of the upper control arm and different knuckle design. A31 is a unique, one-of shape. I have contacted Fulcrum asking what the f*@# happened to selbys and all they said was they will be producing sway bars using all teh old selbys gear and info but they haven't started producing the sway bars yet. As far as I understand they moved into the old selbys shop in Sydney. I found a web page the other week claiming they have the selbys family working for them, producing custom sway bars. I'll try and find it again.
  6. My brother is in the process of building a RB30DETT. He will be using a set of rebuilt IHI turbo's from a twin turbo liberty or something. They were reportedly pulled from an RB30DETT making somewhere around 300rwkw with supporting mods. Really great, responsive turbo's if you can get your hands on 'em. There is a thread on the net somewhere with a couple of backyard mechanics strapping a pair of them onto a stock 1jz with no form of boost control. They free boosted for around 6 months till they blew!
  7. This is what I am referring to: http://rawbrokerage.com/Raw6-Intake-Manifo...ETT-R6-0012.htm
  8. I have decide to have a custom plenum made using RB26 plenum and ITB's. I have sourced a bare plenum for cheap and bare ITB's with linkage also for cheap however for $300 price difference I can get a greddy style plenum to use with the ITB's. Is it worth the coin? Comments from anyone using this would be great! Note: Greddy style not genuine greddy. It will all be HPC coated.
  9. For those running itb's without AAC/IAC where do you get vac for brake booster and MAP sensor?
  10. What size turbine housing?
  11. I thought they were $1250 from Kyle(6boost)? Regardless of price, I will be using 6boost low mount with 44mm external gate. same manifold in the photo from Trent. If you are not willing to fork out for a proper, high quality, tuned length manifold then I suggest you use a second hand TRUST item with a Mitsubishi/trust style flanged turbo (you can still find full kits for RB engines w/ turbo, manifold, wastegate and dump pipe) or try to track down a HKS cast item. Your only other option would be a custom log or un-tuned high-mount manifold, which I would think would be in your price range. If your handy with a bit of welding, you could have a go at making one your self, using steam pipe bends from any gas fitting place. Anything else in your price range is simply not worth pissing on. Do it once, do it right I say. If i were you I would just save the extra and get the 6boost. The benefits far out weigh the cost. Hope this helps!
  12. Thanks for the fast replies! As for the itb's, for me, cost is not an issue and i am just looking for alternatives to a modded front facing jobbie.
  13. Ok firstly I will apologise for starting the ten millionth thread on either of these issues. However, it seems it is fairly difficult to find straight answers on these questions. I feel these topics really need straight, proven answers from ppl who have actually had hands on, real world experience with these issues, not a bunch of BS from keyboard jockeys. Now for the first question: When/if a plumb back becomes a restriction, at what boost levels does this generally occur? Or (more to the point) When is there ever a need for an atmo bov? The second question: Is It really worth converting to GTR ITB set-up on an RB? I have searched the net for answers and keep getting the same 'he said, she said' load of crap that ends off topic anyway. As already stated, only answers from users who have done these mods and have the experience to share. Thanks in advance! Cheers! Adam
  14. My bro is about to do this in his laurel which has the same foot pedal etc. From memory you will need an R32 GTST clutch master cylinder, clutch pedal, hard lines from master cylinder to slave, A31 manual centre console, A31 or s13 handbrake, and there may be a couple of things I may have missed.
  15. No worries. So would you say then that the difference between 40mm-44mm, at these boost levels, would be negligible? Cheers in advance for all the advice.
  16. Bit big maybe? probably better suited to running stock boost, which defeats the purpose of the whole exercise. I think most people with similar sized turbo with similar boost levels seem to be running anything from 38mm to 44mm. I was thinking 40mm?
  17. At the end of the day I don't think any other turbo kit will come close to this sort of response and power figures for a $1000 flat, delivered to my door incl. custom lines to suit RB25 and fittings and all gaskets required for install. Looks like its off to ebay! Also, can anyone tell me what size wastegate would be ideal for between 17-22 psi on this turbo? (T67 10cm)
  18. Trent- Does that owner built car have cams? If not how much would a set of poncams affect this particular set-up in terms of response? Its fairly identical to my what my set-up will be aside from poncams, standard/front facing plenum, Haltech. (possibility of ITB's) Basis of the build will be a long motor from Darren Lewis, Lewis Engines.
  19. Awesome! Thanks Trent! Thats what I wanted to see! does that set up use the ebay turbo? Does it have cams? How would a HKS 3037 pro S .68 rear compare to this in regard to response and top end power?
  20. sorry to revive an old thread but how did this turn out?
  21. Oh wow! I totally forgot about this thread. I have ditched the high flow option and I am in the market for either a HKS GT3037 pro s or MHI T67 10cm. I thought I might as well considering I'm pretty much going all out on the long motor. Any thoughts or Dyno read outs of either of these turbo's on RB25 would be awesome, thanks Trent.
  22. Im after full interior boot trim (sick of stuff dinting out my rear guards) and the trim that goes around the rear passanger side quater window (interior)
  23. Just thought I would add my two cents. I put my ceffiro in the shop just after purchasing it to have a genuine walbro fitted, which i saw with my own eyes prior to fitment. The mechanic opened the fuel tank to find a shitload of rust, probably because it sat in a holding yard in japan before i got it. So he soured a replacement tank, flushed the lines, replaced the fuel filter and fit the walbro. It ran fine for about 9 months until The car just didn't start one day after i had just driven it into town. The walbro had packed it in. So i pulled it out, got a lift to the workshop where the work was done. They wired it up to a battery both forward and in reverse and nothing happened so it was sent back to USA for replacement and i used a standard R33 pump for the time. A few weeks later it cam back and the guys from walbro said they hooked it up and ran it just fine with no problems at all. So i took it home and fit it up again, test started the car and it ran fine, shut off the car and packed up my tools then hopped in the car to go for a spin. Turn the key and no buzzing noise, no starting, nothing... and i thought "not again". So again i removed it and reinstalled the 33 pump, drove back to the workshop. Again, they sent it back to Walbro USA and this time, about 3 months later, Walbro apologized for the inconvenience and for supplying a faulty pump and replaced it with a new one. I installed the new one, this time with a 30 amp relay as it wasn't done before by the mechanic and it worked fine for about 6 months before it did the same thing. My brother and I both held one wire each on a battery terminal and the other end with our other hand on the fuel pump to test it in both forward and reverse and we both witnessed nothing happening. So i packed it away and put a Bosch 040 in. Now never had a problem, very happy with it. About two weeks later my bro and i pulled the walbro out again to test it out of curiosity, because of what had happened with the first one and to our absolute astonishment it worked. I will keep it as a spare or ornament. That is my personal experience with walbro.
  24. Yes! Thats what i wanted to hear. The car has stalled on the missus a few times and she says it feels down on power sometimes. I'll order a new pump in the morning! Thanks a million!
