fibre rods are heavy. and a 4000 could be too large even for boat. just went and took a look at my stuff. I use a berkeley dropshot, from memory i spent about 80ish on the rod, and a daiwa procaster 2000, hasn't let me down so far. problem though, its an 8 footer. i got it primarily so that i can cast those squid jigs further. I have a g loomis custom rod, a mate gave me for my birthday, its primarily a boat rod, used to be coupled with a daiwa freams kix 3000, dropped that into the sea off indonesia. but that was an indestructable setup. literally dragged fish up. but cant afford such an exy reel now. unfortunately.
