  1. Haha, mainly I wanted to drive behind somebody who knew how to drive in the hills. I could see you trying to get him to speed up though, and the girl in front of me had a seriously long gap behind you. Was your car ok? Behind you at some lights I got a huge load of exhaust smoke and a reek of clutch, probably from the 350z antilag dude though. Haven't cruised in ages, so this was a pretty good comeback for me Martin, cheers.
  2. But you went so slowly! Sorry, I was going to apologize earlier, I was looking to overtake and check out Jason's Beamer, since I've not seen it up close, and I live in the hills = know those roads much better than the backs of my hands, since I barely look at them. Also... Pretty sure I was miles behind you anyway!?! Anyway, LOTS of people has squealing brakes. Maybe a group buy on break pads is in order?
  3. Just wandered past my work casually and found out that somebody's decided I'm working friday night now. Grrrrrr. Sorry man, was just about to break it to the girlfriend that she'd been demoted to the back seat. Honaldo could you pm me with an eta for the zigzag? I work up in Kalamunda so I may just tag along there if I finish in time. Oh and Kermit do you do intercooler piping stuff? I think I may need help getting from a nice front mount to a GReddy GTR-style plenum =D
  4. Not sure if I'll be going yet but if I do and you're still looking for a ride you're welcome =]
  5. Makes your resume look fancy? I just got around to getting mine =] Being a student it's free though... Probably doesn't count.
  6. Long and short of it dude is that SAU, officially, even SAUWA, doesn't actually do anything car related, we've probably got more paintballing events.... Buy a sticker, because they're cool, and then y'know... That's about the end of it.
  7. Oh ok cool Pal could I borrow your springs then man? Since lowering springs=fail... Also will you want to hold onto anything of mine while I've got 'em? Since I mean... You could in theory have my coilovers, but that'd mean I'd have to change it all over pretty much on your driveway.
  8. Hmmm, I was going to do that the other day but planning got hectic... Plus, watching my mum drive my skyline all hunched up and close to the steering wheel is hilarious =D
  9. So, just to clarify... There's a nice inspector at Osbourne Park? I've just had my third inspection for my sticker, and every time I've been, I've fixed my list up and they've decided that the previous inspector has made an error. Today I had some fat prick sit on my bonnet and jump up and down and claim that I didn't have any suspension. When I told him I could see it moving underneath him and (of course) I have suspension he just shrugged, wrote me another sticker, and said if I didn't have it off in two weeks I'd lose my number plates because I was forbidden any further extentions..... Could seriously have cried hehe, next week will be my fourth attempt, after two sets of suspension and having adjusted one of them once.
  10. Ahh wicked man, if I could borrow a set of those sometime next week it'd make my life so so so much easier. Also Pal by springs do you mean you've got the whole suspension unit/thing or just the springs? Since I've got a set of stock suspension with lowering springs but I'm looking for the most stock suspension I can possibly find after today's "you are not allowed hard suspension" talk from the pits. Or, if you've just got springs man, my old suspension's preeeeetty useless so I'd be happy to donate my bits to form an entirely stock set of coilovers for people to borrow =] Cheers, Tim
  11. Oh so they're up now? That's cool, they sound really wellorganised, I just got the peice of paper on the last monthly cruise and haven't had a chance to get out until now with all my uni work. How do I go about getting somebody to validate me? Since I'm not sure if Allen will remember me from the last sau monthly cruise.
  12. Serious? Man that's nasty... My friend in a 300zx mentioned something about a roo... Lee I was going to come over to your car earlier, those red seats are sweet man! Oh, and those WCC cruises sound really good. Feels odd talking about them on the Sau site though =D
  13. So, for anybody who didn't go on this here's a pretty accurate summary of what I found at this cruise: Arrived at carpark full of douschebags in utes throwing a bmx around. Gold coin donation pretty much jumped on us. As a result, and the fact that I've never once actually read the map, we didn't get one; it's not that I mind donating, but I didn't actually have coins on me (this, I am well aware, is my fault). Store attendands called police. Everybody scattered, and I imagine 70+% of people went the wrong way. We then drove most of the way to Brookton, down slow, boring, and just all round gay roads. So, in essence, I drove at like 70kph halfway to Brookton, with a bunch of dickheads in falcadors, doing lots of skids, and then found out halfway there that the guy at the front, operating both a gps, and a map, and with a nagivator, didn't know where we were going... On top of that, there were no stops and just one straight road people apparently 'go' at... So essentially it was just like any other boring saturday night drive to Brookton, except slower, and with people complaining that going up hills at 90, in brand new cars, was too fast. Don't know who posted this cruise, but seriously man... I respect that you ran one, because generally they're really cool. But I can drive to Brookton anytime I want, and last night certainly wasn't time to do it. Why did we need spare tyres? And food?.... And why was the map so secretive that you only released it that late? All that made this sound like some wildly exciting drifting event in the middle of nowhere, that was only for those hardcore enough. That, I was interested in going to, and watching people 'go'ing at. When I ran my cruise, we did ok, and it was much more interesting, and I was still critisized for it. I imagine that whoever posted this got it from somewhere else, due to the large amount of falcadores there. And so to whoever wrote this silly, silly cruise: Please, please, please... Tell us, precisely how gay it's going to be before we get there.
  14. Oh ok I live in the hills, but I'm used to haveing to drive for ages for anything. Hmmm, if he's going to the same pits we could just both use them in succession and have a quick change over outside hehehe.
  15. Can I borrow say, a set of stock 33 wheels from anybody for tuesday please? I've got reasonably stock suspension for anybody who's after it =D
  16. Hey man, I've just finished my search for these last week. Basically I got quoted 650 for genuine Bride rails to mount my Cuga's on. These would take 2 months to ship. What I've actually brought are from a Kiwi supplier which are universal seat rails that are measured to fit loads of different brands, bolt on per model of car. All up a pair cost me 230 including postage and ship in 3-6 workin' days. As far as I see it you can't get better than that. I measured my seats, told the dude which ones I had and which rails I had and he sent me the same measurements for his mounts, so it sounds all good for yours too. The website's www.nzkw.com dude, check it out, unless you really really want the genuine rails. I figure these will be more usefull since they also fit Sparco and Recaro moddels 'n' all. Tim
  17. Yeah I jus got hit with my second of these fines, and there'r no demerits, for the people wondering. Figure it's easier to just drive the folk's car without them than transfer the plates from car to car, since getting caught in your skyline without plates is big f**king trouble I imagine =D
  18. A-ha! Look no further, I've got one that's untouched by human hand sitting in my garage [made/packed/handled entirely by orangutans]. I've been trying to flog it for a while but haven't had any luck. Pm me if you're interested man =]
  19. Man, how CHEAP is the bus huh? It's great ... Untill you see a nice car drive past hehe.
  20. Pretty much man, as far as I understand it. I hit the pits last thursday, I think, and I'd fixed my entire list of broken hinges etc. but forgotten one bulb, and had acquired a dodgey tyre placard, and my inspector was actually really good about it, and nearly passed me. But the upshot of it is, that he did spend the entire time teasing me about the IM240 test, but by that point I all i had left was an exhaust. So, once you get your first list it seems to be that you're set from doing it. I didn't get asked to do it, and my car's pretty hoon-looking, exhaust doesn't clear 35mm (which they only thought to mention on the second inspection, and is what failed it =[) big 18"s, decals, running a few A'PEXi bits of electronics. I'm still going to play it safe and wind my coilovers up and drive out to brookton in a few weeks for it. I'm hearing good things about going really far out of the way for inspections. For anybody interested, my first inspector at welshpool was bollocks, and failed to mention that my HKS bov would wualify me for an emmisions test, failed to mention that my car was ridiculously low, and all sorts of things. Now, this may sound good, but he then FAILED my car, and made sure I got picked up next time. Look out for a really unhappy man with no hair and a hat. My advice is to see if you can get a guy called Geoff, who, albiet still failed me, told me what I needed to do, and printed me out the acts outlining all the rules and gave me a "If you'd just done one more things I could let you go, but if you fix ____ by doing ____ I can and will pass you" sort of run down.
  21. Two years till I finish my degree and start my collection of SAU cartons =]
  22. The leaking power steering myth is a good one =] I apparently had that, only mine was water, from the rain that was wild that night. Also, I went to get my second inspection yesterday and got a great inspector who spent the whole time teasing me about the IM240 (or something like that) emmisions test. Every time I mentioned anything, he'd just mutter it under his breath. Don't really see how Tien coilovers have anything to do with it?....
  23. Just hold a few cruises during the daytime specifically aimed at driving 15-20 less than the speed limit (i.e normal driving) and go for hours and hours?
  24. Hey James, do you park at Broadway down from uwa all the time? Your GTR looks a whole lot like the one that's always there, could it be the same thing?
  25. Well I imagine if we had a sticky thread of parts, and somebody just had them in their shed and you signed them in and out it'd work, maybe with a record of which parts came from whom. I'd offer my shed, because I've got a single garage at the front of my house, and a tripple or quadruple at the back but I'm barely there, and I live with my folks in Kalamunda, and I don't think anybody would like to drive that far. Somewhere locked would be best though, and (not trying to shanghai you into anything man) Peter's setup would be something i'd be happy with. Maybe we should start a thread asking people for ideas on it?
