Is the turbo inlet flange something you can buy off the shelf or do you make it yourself? I know the exhaust flange is a T3. The opening size of the inlet is about 58mm for your turbo? Would be a bit smaller on a standard turbo? Not much room to allow for the bolts to fit through the holes once a seam is welded around the pipe to the flange. Is it hard to unbolt the standard suction pipe from the turbo? Can't even see the bottom one . Cheers for all your info Rhys

It's rated at 1500 kgs braked. They guy informed me that 'all our towbars are welded & manufactured by certified welders (NZ4711) and designed in accordance with manufacturers specifications'. The towbar is painted not powder coated. The paint is satin black. From the first photos I posted up you can see they design their towbars very well. They lap metal over main bar then weld it back onto the box section all around the top, back, sides and bottom. The tongue is lapped behined the main bar and welded around. Very strong. Rhys

Shopping Trolley I'm in Christchurch and the muffler in my first photo was the stock one. The muffler in the new photos is part of the 3" custom exhaust system from turbo back. Bit loud and drones too much so will get a mid muffler put in to knock it right back. We weren't too sure how it would sound so started with a couple of rez and a rear muffler. My M35 is just the standard kit. You should be able to see if there would be any problem from the photo's if you have an aero kit. No photos when I took the rear bumper off but all that is there is the rear impact beam in place of the towbar. $240NZD including wiring to hook up to your car just like the photo's. It doesn't include any tricky plugs that connects to the factory lighting of the cars rear lights, just the plug you see with the cable so if you want you can source the plug over there. It's a standard Narva trailer plug. So shipping to Sydney? I can get a price sorted, just need to know how many are interested for size and weight etc? Rhys

Just had a word with him. $220 NZD for the towbar, no wiring/plug but can be supplied (It's about $20 for the plug and wiring but you guys could source that over there). That's for an order of 5 towbars. The more that are interested the better. Shipping price I would have to get them to look into but the cost can be broken up between you guys. Cheers, Rhys

I'll have a chat to the guy who did it and sort out a price. He has a special jig made up for the car so building them in bulk shouldn't be a problem. Rhys

I've notice I have a dull 'bonk' noise coming from the front of my car over general bumps as well as soft 'creeking' noise from the steering rack when rotating the wheel at low speed (parking etc). Had the guy doing my exhaust have a look at the bushings and ball joints, can't pick anything. Possible shocks need replacing? There is a lot under these things so I may take it to a suspension shop to see if they can run a test on one of those machines that emulate road conditions. What areas of the M35 fail in the front suspension so I can have a nose around when still up on the hoist tomorrow? Cheers, Rhys

Yes more than enough for what I need. I did have to mod the small plastic left and right trays where it shows the photo of the plate in the boot so they sit flat. People love how neat it sits on the car. Just the tongue sticking out with no ugly bars hanging down. My custom exhaust from turbo back is getting finished tomorrow so will post photos up later. Going for the 'Remus' look . Rhys

Here's mine. Cut to expose the rails then side in box section. Bolt thru into the box section for a solid fit. 1500kg braked. Job was ok as they should have sealed the exposed metal better, will sort that later. I'm in New Zealand, cost $299 installed with wiring. I removed the rear bumper which saved a lot in labour. Rhys

Do you think one of the modders could start pulling all this new info over into the M35Info thread so newbe's can source the info there first? There are other topics on here like Sat/Nav/Stereo info, intake, wheels/tyres, swaybars, towbars, interior removal and exhaust (flanges!) .

Is it ok to use white spirits on the roof liner? Does it matter if you get any on the plastics/leather etc?

Well that should save me some breakages. Always worried there are some hidden bolts/clips somewhere that I miss. Thanks for the info Andy!

On the rear tailgate there is a plastic panel under the lights and number plate that I wish to remove. Has anyone seen how this comes off? Just asking first before I 'test' how it does .

The pocket with the lid above the A/C controls would be handy as mine had an aftermarket TV mounted there so I have a large hole in the pocket with no lid. Also the inside box of the upper glove box where the Sat/HDD was, large hole carved in there.

Always good to do indepth research with flanges so you get the right one.

Yeah back of the turbos dump. The T2 and the GT25 flanges look pretty close but there are angles and curves which don't match? Bottom part of the M35 flange is straight where a lot of ones I see are curved?

I've had a search on here for info on this type of flange but had no luck. Did an image search on Google and it seems the GT25/28 kind of look the same but I'm not sure as they look a little different? I've seen some custom exhaust photo's on here with custom dump pipes so ever they are custom made or can be gotten off the shelf from somewhere?

They do tests for noise, will make sure it isn't too loud. Right I'll stop hijacking Clowndog's thread .

I'm in New Zealand so not a problem at the moment with the cats. I'll see how I go with the setup of no cats, just depends if it's a problem getting the stock dump pipe off. Thanks.

Was just about to post up a new thread about designing my custom exhaust. I have the option of removing all the cats etc so it will be complete 3" straight thru off the turbo. Maybe a middle muffler or a couple of rez then a 3" straight thru oval (stock looking) muffler. Plan to keep the system stealth. One question is would there be any issues with the ceramic turbo the M35 has? I think I read it was a ball bearing type so should spin fine at a greater speed with the lack of back pressure? The reason I ask this is the guy building the system mentioned about the earlier Skyline's having ceramic turbo's and they would sometimes be splat out the back of the exhaust with extra boost (over spinning them)? I think people on here have said the boost gets up to 15psi with a 3" cat back system? Cheers.

Thanks guys. Front bumper doesn't seem to be much of a problem. Its the rear one that interests me the most, seems a lot of the clips etc are hidden from the eye not like the front one. Also forgot to ask about removing the rear boot interior door card, will edit my post. Cheers
