  1. Yep, this. Reason being, if you come up over a crest or hill, your headlights are going to be pointed straight into oncoming drivers eyes. Standard headlights will always just point straight ahead. Adaptive headlights automatically rotate so that they are always pointed at the road. Helps with cornering n shit too. OP, there really isn't any way to rectify it. Getting adaptive headlights and washer jets installed would cost you an arm and a leg. You can either swap out the HID's to halogens to pass inspection and then swap them back, or you can just leave the halogens in place.
  2. Eh, Evo's are good cars, best car for the street. Would love to own a VII. Happy with the Skyline though I also get the crunch into 5th at high speeds, it's a common thing. Change nicely, no problem.
  3. 30d? You think thermostats start to open at 30 degrees below their operating temperature? So my 82 degree thermostat starts to open at 52 degrees? Rubbish. They do open earlier, but only a few degrees, and only very slightly. Having a bigger radiator will not affect this in the slightest, especially considering the water in the radiator will never be below ambient temperature regardless of air flow or road speed. The radiator is removed from the equation until the engine is at operating temperature. Find me one source that tells you differently and backs up your theory. For the record, I'm originally from Germany so I go back to visit my grandparents quite often. They have never had to cover their radiator at any stage, and where they live (Kiefersfelden) it often gets well below negative 10. It would take some extreme cold for that to be necessary; maybe it gets that cold in Canada, I'm not sure. But it has certainly never been an issue for them in Germany. It would probably be more necessary on a diesel engine than a petrol engine.
  4. Yehhh they are ok. Similar story to the V8 Commodores though, their engines make bags of power/torque and yet they have to cart this heavy shell of a car around. My mate has an F6 Typhoon making 380rwhp, best he has managed to run at the drags is a 13.6. Given he isn't a pro drag racer, but he isn't the worst driver in the world either. He could maybe see a 13-flat if he got everything perfect, but he hasn't managed yet.
  5. Yes but that is how thermostats are designed to work; the amount they open varies, it's not a switch that's either fully open or fully closed. If the coolant coming into the block is too cold then the thermostat shuts slightly, restricting how much enters the engine. So the engine is always getting just enough coolant to keep it at operating temperature. Your radiator will never be so efficient at cooling that the thermostat can't keep up (unless the thermostat is dicky).
  6. Read that whole post thinking of the CRZ, then you mentioned it lol. HKS have developed a 300hp CRZ that has been tearing the track scene apart, good little car.
  7. That's what thermostats are for
  8. I take it Daniel was the big spoon?
  9. If I had the money... I know what I would do
  10. Uhhh... I want to see someone drive a 900hp NA V8 on the street without getting stung.
  11. Lol yeh I've seen it. So much awesome. You know what, I don't even know why I'm arguing lol. I love all these motors. Comes down to personal preference; I would choose the 26 not because I believe it is the best engine ever created, but simply because I'm an RB man. There was a link to it in a thread here, shall try to find. *EDIT* Dammit I can't find the thread. Here are his build pics though:
  12. You must be bloody tall My mate is 6'8" and fits into a 33 comfortably.
  13. Yeh just like E85, turbochargers, and superchargers. Never understood that 2F2F way of thinking. If that's what you're into, it would be real easy to cover the RB26 in plastic as well. The V8 looks cheap to me. If the RB was just another motor, Rips wouldn't use it in his drag cars. There's a reason the V8's won't let him into their class despite him being at a disadvantage. Just sayin'...
  14. Still? Yehhh... You can have your pushrods. GT42 2.7L RB26 with 300-shot NOS wins all day everyday in my books. Expenses aside. I'd rather the 26. Just look at that thing
  15. And I just bought a 55" 3D TV on Saturday
  16. I didn't buy my radiator from justjap, I got it from authenticgodzillaperformance but I believe they are similar if not exactly the same. I couldn't be happier with mine. Have had it at a few track days, never gets above 95 degrees even when the car doesn't see under 5000rpm for a good 15 minutes. On the street it sits solid at about 78 degrees, goes up to about 80 degrees when standing still. Doesn't leak at all except for the overflow line, but that's because my overflow line is a bit old and the fitting kinked the inside of the hose which breaks the seal. Will get round to replacing that, for now I just use a piece of larger hose squeezed over the top to give it more surface area. So not sure if it's because AGP are actually different to JJR, but all their products are around the same prices.
  17. 1 bar is 14.5psi. 0.9 bar is about 13psi. 0.8 bar is about 11.5psi. With the boost controller you can set boost to what you like. Turning it down is fine, that won't affect your tune. In fact with the B-Spec II you can have a high boost setting and a low boost setting with just the push of a button. But turning it up is risky. You need a retune if you turn the boost up higher than it has been tuned for.
  18. Too many anecdotes in your post ^_^
  19. What state?
  20. The fact that you consider 120,000 to be high kms says it all lol.
  21. Pretty sure A goes to the charcoal canister. As above for the others.
  22. You would be able to mount it in the stock position for sure, but I don't know about using the stock wiring and sensor if that's what you're asking? I doubt the stock wiring harness will plug into any aftermarket gauges, and the stock sensor is notoriously inaccurate. Wiring is very easy anyway, why use 15 year old wiring and sensors when you can get brand new stuff with the gauge you buy? Takes an hour to install neatly.
  23. This. Streets have corners
  24. Then they haven't a clue how to drive or they didn't set their car up properly. A Skyline will run mid-13's with stock ecu, stock turbo, and stock intercooler. As has been seen on here.
