Side mount bucket? I have the Sparco Torino II's
-
By the way, how much brake fluid did you need?
-
But on an R34 GTR it's all about wank factor! Electronic ftw! I love my 'little red button from Men In Black that makes the car go sooooper fast"! Seriously, electronic is awesome. Turbosmart eBoost II or Greddy Profec Bspec II. Both expensive, both win. I have the Greddy; Marc is probably right, it is all wank factor, so if you just want a cheap alternative then manual boost controllers do the job well and are a fraction of the price. However, with a manual boost controller you can't wire in a switch/button to switch from 7psi low boost to 18psi high boost in a fraction of a second if you want the extra power to overtake or something.

+1 ^ Having a SAFC as well as a NIStune would be a huge waste of money. Mines/Blitz ECU's are not a good idea in my opinion as they are not designed specifically for your car. All cars are different...

NIStune. Nuff said.

Installing Jjr Bellmouth Front/dump Pipe On R34
Hanaldo replied to V28VX37's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Custom exhaust all the way I got a front/dump pipe similar to this, was gonna have a go at installing it myself but am a bit worried about stripping/snapping bolts. What happens if I do? -
This is one of the feet I'm talking about: The bottom of the 'bolts'. The top of the 'bolts', sorry it's so blurry. Where one of the feet bolt into the floor.

Hey guys, This isn't for the pits, but I am currently trying to track down some Bride/Recaro rails to suit an R34 coupe RWD. Would just like to borrow them to see if they can be fitted to my Sparco seats as the universal rails that came with those seats does not fit my car. If you have something please give me a call or text asap, 0431047984. Cheers, Martin.

I thought that may be the case... will see if I can find someone, seems unlikely though

Hey guys, I had an attempt at installing my Sparco Torino II racing seats in my R34 the other day, and discovered it is going to be a very tricky process. The Sparco's have universal rails (I contacted Sparco and apparently they don't make specific rails, they only do universals), which of course are not going to be perfect. But I found my original R34 seats are mounted on little feet that are 'bolted' onto the rails of the seats and then the feet are 'bolted' to the floor. I say 'bolted' for lack of a better description, the fastening that attaches the feet to the rails is very strange, can't be undone by a tool. It is sort of like a pop-rivet style fixing... I can upload pictures if anyone thinks it will help. Basically I want to ask if anyone has installed some seats in their R34 before, either with universal rails or specific rails, and how you overcame this problem if you encountered it? These are really nice seats, it would be a huge shame to not have them fit just because of these little mounts. Thanks in advance for any help, Martin.

Great, thanks mate! Will give this a go next week... As for adjusting the master cylinder, it seems like a lot of effort? I'm sure it would work as you want it to (although maybe make a note of where the pushrod is set before you adjust it, just in case it doesn't work), so if you're willing to go through the effort then go for it. Just that it seems like a hell of a lot of effort just for a few cms of play?

How do you bleed those lines Phil?
-
Well full boost at 35000rpm leaves your options wide open. Try this sucka, should achieve 400hp no problem:
-
Sort of... The R34 has little feet that bolt onto the rails and then those feet bolt to the floor. But they have a really strange sort of bolt holding them on, as well as pop-rivet style fixings. So couldn't work out how to get the feet onto the Sparco's rails to install them. Will have to fabricate something.

What Are The Biggest Rims That Can Fit On A Er34 2 Door
Hanaldo replied to Jayden.K's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Well I guess the last thread has died a little bit, this one has come just in time... -
Yeh there was a problem on the forums last night. Have a look around, none of the threads posted between about 3pm and this morning have any posts in them. IPS Driver issue or some shit. Would retype this post but it's a huge effort and I've already figured out it won't work. Long story short, Sparco seats no fit R34 Skyline.

Thanks for the advice man, might see if I can sort something out like that. My recirculation pipe is metal though, so I can't shorten it or anything... I have a rubber pipe connecting the bov to the metal recirc pipe? Anyway, will see if I can fabricate something to make it work.
-
Don't mean to hijack your thread dude, but I tried to fit my GTR bov today and I'm not sure what to use to join the bov outlet to the recirculation pipe? The outlet on the stock bov is tiny so the pipe doesn't fit on the GTR bov. Tried using a piece of radiator hose, but if it is big enough to fit over the GTR bov outlet then it is too big to fit on the recirculation pipe? How did those of you with GTR bov's connect them to the recirculation pipe? Just to provide something on topic to the thread so I'm not completely hijacking it, my bov's did not have those shims. So I think it is going to be something the previous owner has fitted. What you might find is that because GTR bov's leak at idle, your bov's may have a very loose spring which is causing it to leak too much. So the owner fitted those shims to reduce the pressure on the spring so that it doesn't leak so much. Just a theory anyway

Spot on ^ It's fair enough on an R32 or a car that didn't come with an airbag, I would get an aftermarket steering wheel as well. But I sure as hell wouldn't remove my airbag just for looks. R34 steering wheels are pretty good looking anyway, I would only replace it with an Evo wheel which has an airbag

When my uncle was in a car accident (was driving his work car which was a 1997 BMW M5), the air bag smashed his face. I wish I had the pictures he showed me, but basically his whole face got completely messed up. Broken nose, fractured left eye socket, his right eye was so badly swollen the skin split, and bruised gums from where the air bag moved his teeth. He needed an operation to fix his eye socket, 6 stitches where his other eye split, and is still undergoing dental work to fix his teeth (two years after the accident). No doubt airbags are necessary, I fully agree that removing it would be stupid. I hate to think what my uncles face would have looked like if he hadn't had an airbag. But they definitely hit you hard. Tests have shown that an airbag hitting you is equivalent in force to being hit in the face by a heavy weight boxer.

Dammit, that probably rules out installing them myself lol... Where can you take it to get the ABS bled properly, any mechanic? Or gotta be a brake specialist?
-
If your local tuner is familiar with them and knows how to tune them then that is always your best option. You should always go by what your tuner recommends to you as in the end they are the ones tuning it. If Autronic make one for R32 GTST's and your tuner says he can do it then you should go with that
-
Oh I see lol, I thought it was purely a thread on Autronics. You could run MAP sensors with a VIPEC, Haltech, Motec, PFC Djetro (don't know if they ever came out for R32 GTST's though?), just to name a few. My choice would be the VIPEC, very good ecu with very good capabilities and support from tuners. But then all the ecu's I mentioned do lol.

Was gonna say, we have no such laws yet! lol

NA R34 engine would cost you about $700 depending on condition and kms. Labor would set you back around 2.5k-3k, all up it would probably cost you around 5k to do that sort of engine swap. If you can afford an R34 engine of any sort, you can afford a daily crap box car. Buy a shitter for ~$500, drive that until you're off your P's
