  2. Organise massive cruise past said police station for drive by egging? Bet they will do something about it when they have to clean it up
  3. I don't believe it ^ I filled up with Peak 98 once when i was low on fuel and still about 200kms away from the nearest BP that i knew of, and my car did not like it. I only got 300kms out of that tank, compared to the 500kms i usually get to a tank of BP Ultimate. Driving the exact same way i always do, if not more relaxed, doubt i ever went over 3000rpm. So got terrible fuel consumption, as well as the car feeling a bit more sluggish, even if i was taking it easy. Everything went back to normal once i filled up with BP again. I hate Peak fuel with a passion. No car i have ever driven has driven well on Peak. I will use Caltex Vortex if i have too, but usually only ever use BP Ultimate. P.S. Nice car
  4. Are we still talking about the bov? Lol, thanks guys, so i can use a single GTR bov and it is a straight bolt on replacement for the RB25 one, no modification needed? What diameter piping does the GTR bov use compared to the RB25 bov, do you know? Don't have the new engine yet, so can't go measure for myself
  5. Oh, really? I thought they needed the twin setup to work properly? Although to be honest i don't understand why... So you can just use one and they fit straight on to where the RB25 one was? Still sound the same as they do on a GTR? Sound isn't important, i just think they sound awesome, so if they sound the same then thats a bonus
  6. Hey guys, I did a quick search but couldn't really find anything that detailed what needs to be done to fit GTR bov's to my R34 GTT engine. From what i understand, GTR's use a twin bov system, which means i would need to get some custom piping done. Basically i just wanted to know if anyone has done this before and what was involved, or if not, if someone knows what exactly would need to be done to fit them? Cheers, Martin
  7. I am also thinking of buying a bunky, but more to save kms when the new engine goes in... Will be following this thread. Should throw good fuel economy into the mix as well, no point having a car that never stops but costs you as much in petrol as it would to service...
  8. Lol ^ Apparently this is the worst storm Perth has seen for 50 years. Came out of nowhere really lol, was f-in hot on Sunday, then bam! Chaos.
  9. ARK MFD is about $400 and can read boost straight off the bat, doesn't need additional sensors. It is mostly for functionality, but looks does come in to it, i don't want an 80's looking gadget. That and the fact that i find the ARK MFD a hell of a lot easier to read, rather than trying to make out what the ECUTalk is saying. I will need to get the additional sensors for oil temp/pressure, and water temperature. But i find the price of the ARK MFD + sensors better than the price of all the Defi gauges i would need to monitor all the things the MFD can monitor.
  10. No, get an iPhone... They have a radar detector app
  11. Thanks for clarifying mate. Both the Greddy Infometer and the ARK MFD have adaptors to plug in additional sensors for boost, oil temperature/pressure, water temperature, and wideband o2 and EGT. So that is no problem. At this stage i think i will go for the ARK MFD as it does not use the diagnostic port, however if the Greddy Touch can still display the optional sensors with non-OBD then i would rather go for that as it has more functions. I have looked at the ECUTalk V2 Display, but i think for almost a similar price as the ARK MFD, with less functions and, lets be honest, horrible appearance, the ARK MFD or Greddy Touch would be the better option
  12. HKS Hi Power Silent gets my vote, sounds fuckin sexy! Probably the best sounding exhaust i have heard on a GTR, even if it was a 33
  13. Thanks for that mate. I will have to get confirmation from Greddy about whether it can measure boost, oil and water temperature with the non-OBD connector. I may end up going with ARK MFD as that just splices straight into the ECU's wires so it is compatible with any car... Will wait to hear back from Greddy first though. Thanks for your help guys
  14. Well i figured it would be the diagnostic port, but does that necessarily mean it is OBD2? I suppose being a 1998 it is too modern for OBD1 and Nissan CONSULT?
  15. I just went and had a look at my car, and there is a little panel that pops out down near my feet, near the bonnet release lever. There is a wiring harness that comes out from that, would that be my ISO14230?
  16. Hey guys, Just wanted to find out for sure if the stock GTT ECU has an ISO14230 connector? I am looking to buy a Greddy Informeter Touch, which is an OBD2 monitor that plugs straight in to the ISO14230 connector. It can also connect to Nissan CONSULT. I just want to make sure that it is compatible with my car before i buy it. Cheers, Martin
  17. +1, everyone on here has different opinions on what needs to be done. But as Bubba said, all you really need to do is fill out a change of engine number form. Basically because the engine is not changing the number of cylinders that you had from factory, you just need to download a form from the DPI website notifying them of the change of engine. And that should be it.
  18. That is very possible, he did used to live in Melbourne and he didn't mention where he was living when that was his occupation. So quite possible that it is only in the eastern states, although i don't see why they would use it over there and not over here?
  19. Yeh i'm sure, because he was saying it is stupid that they are only just starting to use that technology now when they have been able to do it for years
  20. Actually Dan, my old boss when i was setting up water tanks used to be one of those guys that sat with the speed camera, and he told me that they have had the technology to use camera's that can focus and take pictures on both directions for years. It is only in the last couple of years that they have started utilizing that technology on the streets. So it is very possible that this camera was one that can focus on both directions, and the OP was unlucky to be caught instead of the other guy. I do have to say it is highly unlikely though, the camera is set up so that it gets a complete picture of your car. If the other car was just a little bit in the picture, then it was you that was speeding, otherwise there is no way that it got a complete picture of your car and only a fragment of the other car
  21. Lol yeh i noticed that when i got the quote for an R34 GTR. Cost the same to insure as a 34 GT
  22. Awesome day, best fun i've had on a cruise ever! Great idea, everyone really enjoyed it, it was safe and very very well organized, thanks again and again to Tritty for organizing!! and Bretto and Dani for helping run it
  23. Come on, a HKS sticker is easily 30kw at the wheels no matter what car you drive! Lol, would be interesting to see the gains from this Joe, have you got anything like an intake air temperature gauge? Anything that could show the difference before and after?
  24. 2K??? Wow... I was speaking with a friend last night who said all you have to do to change your insured value with JustCar is phone them up and explain to them what you have got done and why your car is worth that much. Adds a bit to your premium of course, but apparently that's all it takes
  25. Maybe the internet implies 32's spin the rear tyres easier
