Hey all, Im just in the process of trying to remove my strut bar for painting, but it won't budge! Is there any special way of getting it off? Im using a 12mm socket on the 4 nuts holding it on, but they absolutely will not move, and i don't want to round them (one of them has already started to round off). Just thought i would ask and make sure there isn't a special trick to getting it off. Cheers for any help, Martin

Im pretty sure you don't, thats only over east. I was told the same thing by a cop, but the inspector at the pits told me you just need to make sure the ballasts are secure if you have a conversion kit. Before i bought my kit i actually emailed WAPOL to find out if they were illegal, and the reply said that no they are not illegal, even 12000K ones are legal in WA, but they would recommend you have washers/wipers because the heat of the light can bake dirt onto the headlight. Which is a load of crap, ive had my HID's for 6 months now, and my headlights are still crystal clear. But anyway, point is that both WAPOL and the pits said they were legal, and i passed the pits with them, they just made me secure the ballasts better. Thing is, if a cop decides they want to give you a sticker, they will sticker you for HID's, simply because they can

Factory items don't have to comply with ADR rules do they? If it was like that from factory then they can't make you change it. Like carbon fibre bonnets are illegal, but the GTR V-Spec II came factory with one and it is legal. Anyway, worst case senario they make you change the bulbs, not that big a deal. I would try to pass it

Ive got a couple of videos mate

Im in for sure, emailing you now
-
Well, looks like i might enter that as well Hopefully have the leather interior by then. Renegade, cheers for the offer of help, im writing the EOI now. Want me to PM you what i have written and you can tell me if you think its good, maybe add something? Also, were you at Powercruise in the 31?
-
Oh yeh no, i wasn't saying we shouldn't do it because it won't be as big as MV. Was just saying that if it is only SAUWA that does it, then really it is just a get together... If we could involve some other clubs then that would be great! As i said, im definitely keen. Paul just on the subject of Motorvation, you said SAUWA would put money into a group entry? Could you shoot me a PM about what this means and includes?
-
Well ill put up an EOI for Motorvation and if it happens it happens, if it doesn't then its no biggy, atleast people can't complain there was no effort. Bard i would be interested in a Show n Shine, the only thing is wouldn't that pretty much just be a meet for SAUWA people lol? Wouldn't be many other people there. Not saying that is a bad thing, just that if we can't entice people to sign up for a huge event like Motorvation where there will be thousands of people, what are the chances of getting people to come and park their car on an oval somewhere? I suppose I would be interested though...
-
Well i passed with aftermarket HID's... surely if they are legal, then factory ones will be too?
-
Yeh i would like to keep it as SAUWA members only if its possible. So what happens if we get 6 people that are definites, but then 2 or 3 of them don't get let in? Does SAUWA cancel the application, or do we go ahead with 3 or 4 members? My car meets all the criteria that they list, although i imagine there is a fair chance my car won't be accepted as it's a non-turbo.
-
Well i suppose it is worth a try, with my name down i only need to find 5 other members. Do they have to be SAUWA members, or just anyone from the forum?
-
Lol ok, cheers Paul. I just thought i would ask because someone may have done a turbo conversion with a specific tuner and had good or bad experiences that could be useful to me. I know what you mean about other peoples opinions though lol, when i asked what ECU i should be using awhile ago, i got 50 replies telling me eManage Blue was great, another 50 telling me it was shocking, and another 300000000000000 telling me to sell my car and buy a GTT. Cheers for the help though

Yeh i think it would be great to get a SAUWA group entered, could we atleast put the word out and see how many we can get? The only thing i wasn't sure about (As i said, ive never been to Motorvation, i have no idea what goes on there) is what events do you have to be involved in if you enter your car? Because on their website it says they get around 1000 applications and only 800 cars can get in, so i imagine they would want everyone to be involved in the drags and burnout comps and stuff like that? Im not too keen on that with my car yet, i would just like to enter it as a show car, and if they do it at Motorvation, a cruise car. Atleast until the turbo goes on

Hey all, I did a quick search but couldn't find much, i was just wanting to know who you guys think i should speak to about tuning my car in the future? I am looking to purchase an engine management system, and i would like to speak to a couple of tuners around Perth so as to get their advice on it. Basically the plan is to keep the car NA for awhile, until im off my P's atleast, and then turbocharge. So i would like an ECU that can be tuned to get the most from my RB25DE Neo, but can also be retuned when i do the turbo conversion. I wanted to contact a few tuners and find out which of them would do my turbo conversion, and what engine computer they would recommend i use for it, just so that i don't go out and buy an ECU that nobody wants to tune. Any recommendations/personal experiences would be very helpful. Thanks, Martin
-
Yeh tell me about it lol. My car should be running and ready barring any problems that arise (TOUCHWOOD!!!!), but i will only be doing the cruise and show side of things, after the turbo goes on, then ill be looking at other events

Actually speaking of all this organising stuff, Motorvation comes back on the 16th of January, maybe we should get something organised to get a club thing going there? I haven't looked in the forums to see if anyone has started though, and i have never been to Motorvation so i wouldn't know how it all works, but im sure we could find out?
-
Nah mate, i agree, i was actually disappointed with the number of Skylines there. But the forum and the club are different things, so can't really say its the clubs fault no one was there. I noticed a few threads about people going to Powercruise, but there was never really much interest in it
-
Oh i see, well best of luck for it! You also gotta let us know what happens with the magazine, would be awesome to see your car in there!
-
I agree with you that it was a missed opportunity mate, but don't think it is the clubs fault for that though. The club just didn't get the expression of interest. its not the clubs job to post up advertisements for these sorts of events, its up to us as individuals to organise things, and if there is enough interest then the club may get involved. There simply wasn't enough people wanting to organise anything. Everyone knew about powercruise ages before, but obviously people didn't want to get involved with their own cars, or whatever the reason was. Next year if no one else posts up an EOI thread, then ill try to get something organized for anyone that wants to go, but i will be there for sure.
-
Stalk definitely Lol nah i just wanted to chat with her, forgive me for being social By the way, what power figure did you end up with? I was reading on one of the other forums about your build, and you said you were hoping for 280? What did you end up getting?
-
Lol hey, its a good way to meet people, for example Carla Fry
-
Is it sad that i just added her on myspace? lol
-
Yeh mate, thats quite a good vid, interesting from that view point. Were you there yesterday? Can i just ask who the female drifter was? Because she was insane. My uncle was visiting from South Africa, and i took him to PowerCruise and he was loving it when the commentators said she was female lol
-
I know the organizers didn't have group entries, but i must agree that i was disappointed with the lack of SAUWA representation at powercruise. Maybe its because i only went on the Sunday? But the only car that i saw there with a SAUWA sticker on it was DRIF10, and possibly STEALTHED (didnt see a sticker but know they are on here). SilviaWA had quite a good section there, the club name was up on the car ports, all the cars were together, i thought that was really good. There were a few Skylines there, but they were all over the place. Next year im definitely going to enter my car, just go along for some fun, would be great to drive along side some of those monsters out there! Would be great if a whole bunch of us could get together and just show that we are an organised group lol

Hey mate, that would be perfect, where abouts are ya? I could just come to you, drill the hole, and im set, wouldn't even have to take it with me. These are the bits im talking about?
