Dude by any chance does your dad wear glasses, slightly balding??? That was an awesome description ^^^ Lol, just that the other day when i was filling up with petrol, this guy started chatting to me telling me i have a very nice car, and how his son who would be about my age has an R33 GTR but has to sell it... -
The people in the Skyline could have been drunk, would explain the initial crash and if they walked into the traffic, could also be alcohol... Of course it had to be a Skyline...
-
I would allow 1 and a half hours in case there are any problems. If it all goes to plan then it should only take you about 30-45mins
-
Well as long as yours are in better condition than mine, it should be the simplest thing you ever do to your car. Problem was my studs were rusted onto the hub... Anyway, its as simple as removing your caliper and rotor, getting a hammer (in my case an extremely large one), and hammering out the stud. If yours are rusted on like mine were, then i found that a fair bit of WD40, plus a hell of a lot more brute force was required. I also had to bash the stud in a few different directions, like underneath, on top, etc. just to loosen it up a bit. But as i said, if yours are in better condition than mine, it is literally the easiest thing to do. Good luck man

Well the cops that pulled me over and signed the paper work were Mundaring cops. The experts that actually decided what to sticker me for were Midland cops. I assume it would be the Mundaring cops that would have my details?

So i just got back from the pits, the inspector laughed at everything the cop put on the list. Biggest waste of time and money. He put some new stuff on the list like torn boot in the steering rack, and my exhaust is less than 100mm to the ground, but other than that, nothing. Xenon's are legal, just need to make sure the ballasts are secure. Eyelids are definitely legal, inspector didnt even know where the cop pulled that one from. Spoiler is clearly legal, inspector like that claim by the cops. Gauges are legal as long as they arent in head space. Reinforcement bar is still intact, hasnt been touched. Clearly those 'expert' cops are so full of shit and just cost me time and money that couldve been spent elsewhere. Another thing about those cops, did i mention they thought my HID ballasts were a NOS system? Forget if i did lol, but that just made me laugh haha Unfortunately the inspector took both copies of my original yellow sticker paper work, so i cant lodge a complaint to the police.

Im going to Midland mate, ill let you know how it goes

Gay, seems like i will be getting told about this tomorrow when i go for the pits I guarantee the DPI pushing this in the last two weeks, and the incredible amount of yellow sticker threads we have been seeing are no coincidence. Seems the police think they have a new way to get our cars off the road

Tried both of those lol, neither of them worked. Ended up using a mallet so big, i actually think it may have been a warhammer. Gave it a couple of love taps, the studs twisted and bent and actually became became much shorter, and eventually came free. Replaced the studs and everything is all good now. Cheers for your suggestions guys, sorry this thread kinda polluted the forum

Yeh one hose will be slightly cooler, one will be slighty hotter. I used the top hose simply for ease, it is easier to reach than the bottom hose

Hey everyone, so some of you might have read my thread about Tyre Power stripping my front wheel studs, i went out and bought new studs and am now currently trying to replace them, as per claims it should be easy lol. I have removed the brake caliper and the rotor, so i have just the hub. I can see there is nothing holding the studs in place, so i screwed a nut onto the end and hammered away. Nothing... Studs wont budge at all. I have a feeling the studs are rusted onto the hub. I sprayed huge amounts of WD40 on the stud and the hole, but nothing works. Stud wont budge. Hitting the stud with a hammer has damaged it beyond use, so now i cant even put the wheel back on to take it to a mechanic. Does anyone have an idea!?

I ran mine from the top hose, works a charm
-
I took some photos of the front bumper where i think the officer was talking about my reo bar, after having a look i dont think that it is my reo bar at all that has been cut, but ill post them up in a bit, maybe if someone who knows what they are looking at could tell me how much trouble im in here?
-
Dont forget Welshpool has 'better' inspectors though... May be worth the wait, depending on what youre trying to pass
-
Lol wow abdul, i think ill see what the inspectors say first =P I have been following that emissions thread quite closely, which is why i was worried about having to do the test seeing as i have an aftermarket exhaust =\
-
Yeh i didnt do anything to get pulled over, as i said the first cop just wanted to see if he could fix my light. It was the 'experts' that came to have a look that bent me over the table. If the first cop hadnt run out of yellow stickers, i wouldnt have got anything. They didnt even put the things on the list that the first cop thought i wasnt allowed to have! Cop didnt show me the reinforcement bar, he just spent ages pointing it out to the 6 other cops at the scene lol. Why so many? Im in Glen Forrest, near Mundaring. Anyone near me willing to come have a look? I suppose im gonna have to take it to the pits anyway and if it is ok then they will tell me, but it would be good to get someone to come look at it before i go and get done for other things too. I was thinking if the inspector says the list is a waste of time then i want to make a complaint, but it isnt the issuing officer i want to make a complaint about, it is the so called experts that came and told him what to put on the list. All the issuing officer did was sign it, he actually apologized to me after, saying he thought they would just come and check out my exhaust. So thing is i have no idea who the officers were that actually pulled me up for these things
-
Im not worried about the HID's, i still have the original halogen bulbs so i can put them back in. Exhaust i wouldnt think is too loud, its only a 2.5" cat-back, although the canon tip may cause problems. Anyone have a silencer i can borrow if they dont like it? Stupid, imports get busted for exhausts being too loud, and all these Excels driving around with their fart canons dont get a second glance, not to mention V8's. I have no idea what the cop was talking about with the reo bar, so i dont know what the problem is going to be. Real nice gift from the previous owner that one. Would the eyelids really cause a problem? If they think the eyelids block out that much light, then they should see my car at night haha, they definitely are not a problem. If i have to take them off then so be it, but seems pointless to me
-
And if i actually get pulled for the reinforcement bar and they say i need to sort it out, does anyone know what i can do about this and how much its going to cost me?
-
Lol, anyone? Is it actually possible to just borrow a reinforcement bar? if its been cut, wouldnt it have to be welded? Anyone keen?
-
Lol im not rebadging it as a GTR haha, GTR spoiler just looks awesome
-
Just a thought, will the reinforcement bar being cut void my insurance?
-
The pod is secure, i made up a bracket for it ages ago. Wont the inspectors look at the reinforcement bar because it is on the list?
-
Well the first cop only pulled me over to see if he could fix the light hanging down, its just then he noticed the exhaust so he wanted me to get it checked out. He was about to let me go because the other cops were taking so long to get there, but they pulled up as i was getting into my car. So the HID's are illegal? Gay, i emailed the WA police before i bought them to make sure, and the reply said they were fine, not illegal, it was just recommended that you dont install them on cars without washers/wipers because dirt can get baked on. Stupid theory anyway, i clean my headlights once a week and they are crystal clear, washers/wipers are just a wank feature
-
That reminds me, he didnt put it on the sticker, but he also said my strut bar was illegal? Ummm, lies?
-
Yeh i had to stop myself from laughing when he said the eyelids were illegal. Im worried about the exhaust though, i have a 2.5" cat-back with canon tip, do you know if i will have to do that dreaded IM240 test? Also the bumper would definitely be illegal
