  1. Yeh I'm a carbon nut, so anything I can make out of carbon I will, hence the parcel shelf But the downside of it is having such a shiny surface underneath the rear windscreen, it makes the back window rather distracting haha. But still, I like it. That was just the waterproof back, sound is ok. I want to give the skeleton back a go, see how different the sound quality is.
  2. Roy, I am using a Link G4 ECU with a 3 bar MAP sensor; so the lack of a bov wouldn't be causing any overfueling issues in my case. Also Luke (Landscribble) got similar results to me and as he said, he runs a bov.
  3. I have been intending to put my bov back on... Its just easier said than done. Especially with having to find a new fabricator.
  4. Mmmmm I just watched the interior video again, that shift to 5th can't have been as far past the line as I thought. But it was I only time I did it, do I don't think it had any effect. That was actually one of my quickest runs.
  5. That's an interesting point, I don't actually know if my tacho is correct. But in any case the shift to 5th was well after the line, I didn't cross the line at 8000 in 4th. Don't really know what I crossed the line at, possibly around 6000. I just keep it going after the line just in case
  6. In that case no, haven't tried. Bov hasn't been on since I did the Plazmaman plenum. Need to get some piping made up, but my fabricator is no longer in the business
  7. Its a Neo with valve springs and cams. 8500 seems to be the sweet spot. I assume you mean plumb back waste gate? No I haven't, but I can't imagine that would help?
  8. Sorry mate, just found this. Didn't take your comment as negative at all, was a valid question! Carbon is pretty hard to work with, but it's actually not as hard as a lot of people seem to think. And it's a lot of fun in the process, if not a little expensive haha. Anyway, got a couple more updates. Forgot to post pictures of the parcel tray with speakers mounted and back in the car: Then I hit the drags again on Wednesday night, got to use my GoPro Hero 3 for the first time: Unfortunately I forgot to charge it, so these were the best three vids I got before it went flat:
  9. I'm fairly sure. Seems unlikely that I would do that every single time though. Its pretty consistent over the 12 or so runs that I've done.
  10. Even after the line? I was well past the finish when I shifted to fifth, I just did it for the fun of it. I always cross the line in 4th.
  11. Yeh I didn't get a chance to launch haha, staging issues. I'm revving to 8000, rev limit is at 8500. I don't think I'm not revving it hard enough haha. I have tried shifting earlier at 7000 and 7500, but that just kills my times. And yeh, I did cross the line in 4th. That last shift to 5th is after the line, I just kept going Did you watch my boost gauge? It builds boost VERY slowly.
  12. Oh, just realised the link didn't appear in my other post. Just finished re-editing them anyway, here is the interior: And the exterior:
  13. This is what I was doing haha.
  14. Except I don't believe that to be the case. I am getting speeds close to that of a stock R34, yet I can beat modified XR6T's, etc. at Powercruise (so rolling start, 1/8 mile). I've got the videos to prove that. I walked my mates 450rwhp F6 Typhoon, yet when both cars were stock he had the edge on me. I dunno, maybe that means nothing, but I just think it is more than multiple dynos inflating the power figure by over 100rwhp. That's 4 separate dynos that have given me that number, with 4 different tuners giving it what they can. What the actual cause is I can only guess, but I feel it is more to do with lag and less to do with the power figure. Trozz, I believe that is what you were getting at with that post as well? Anyway, if you'll excuse the poor editing (tried new software, it's rubbish), here are the interior and exterior videos of my car at the drags. Sorry about the interior video being sideways, I will re upload these later and rotate it. But for now, if you don't mind holding your head on an angle, watch my boost gauge.
  15. I'm not suggesting anything, I'm simply stating facts. My car made 350rwhp on the dyno but can barely run a 108. What that means I have no idea, but those are the numbers.
  16. I've got an interior video with the go pro of my last run, ill post it tomorrow. In the video you can see my boost gauge, and you can see it takes a good 1-1.5 seconds to build back up to full boost between gears.
  17. All of those variables affect the end time, not really the trap speed. End of the day, my best speeds are close to that of a stock R34. The stock manifold isn't my problem. Cam timing could well be. I also think I may have been getting some slight misfire last night, I'll look into that.
  18. Except I'm not getting close to anything that can really be considered high speeds.
  19. Got 6 runs in last night. Best mph was 107.85, best 60ft was 2.25. Was fkn 0.005 of a second away from winning 2 grand as well -_-
  20. Should clarify I wasn't recommending doing it ^ The 20 box is sloppy as all hell, I hate them. But considering you can't really sell them off for much, I'd say it's more worthwhile to run them into the ground behind the 25 and THEN switch to the 25 box.
  21. My mate has been running his 20 box behind his TD06 350rwhp RB25 for 3 years now. Skids, drags, track days, clutchless shifting. 20 box hasn't missed a beat.
  22. Yeh missing gears is one thing that will kill your speed. My first run was 97mph cos in all my excitement I spent a good 3 seconds trying to find 3rd.
  23. Times yes, speeds no. I'm not so interested in the times, that just tells me how good a driver you are. The trap speeds are what interest me.
  24. Good result, now just bring it to Whoopass tomorrow and back up the numbers I'll be there in mine again. The leaking intercooler pipe would be the only thing that MIGHT affect your trap speeds. Otherwise the KU36's will slow you down (more traction = more friction = less speed). There really isn't a lot you can do to improve your trap speeds without increasing power or decreasing weight.
