  1. Nah not a problem man, at least the cooling panel fits well and looks awesome The headlight intake was just for a bit of fun, unfortunately it didn't work out to well but no biggy The bonnet is fully closed in that last pic, yeh. The gap is terrible I know. As for moving it back, unfortunately not. As you can see, I lined up the outside edge as best I could with the fender. With that lined up, everything else was off. If I tried to line up the inside wedge with the front bar, then the outside edge pushed out. It clears the cooling panel no problem. As for the rattling, it's the outside edge that moves around a bit and rattles against the fender because there is no mounting tab on that side of the headlight. So I would need to drill a hole in the front bar and cable tie that side of it down so that it is mounted on all sides.
  2. Well stick your hand up then.
  3. I don't care about my times really, I'm sure they will improve as I learn to not be retarded. The trap speeds are what frustrate me.
  4. The Haltech would adjust for it no problem man. How my old tuner explained it anyway, I asked if it could be done and he said with the Nistune it's a bit difficult but with something like the Link it would be easy.
  5. Mine is externally gated, I believe Luke's is still internal.
  6. Yeh, but would look shit contrasting against the carbon fibre.
  7. Got round to installing my carbon fibre headlight intake this morning, gotta say I'm pretty disappointed with the outcome. Unfortunately I have to say the fitment of the headlight intake is woeful. So much so that I don't think I will even bother reinstalling it for track days or Powercruise, it makes the whole car look cheap. First I had to cut a bit of the intake section off to clear the charcoal canister. No big deal, but anyone that's worked with carbon fibre before will understand why I'd rather avoid having to cut it... Then the mounting tabs were a fair way out, they only juuust line up enough to drill a hole and get a bolt in. You can also see in this picture how the whole thing sits about 2cm too far forward on the inside (left of picture), but only just lines up (and poorly) on the outside: A clearer shot of how far forward it sits: Here you can see how poor the fitment is on the outside edge: And this is what puts me off reinstalling it. Massive gaps between the headlight and bonnet/front bar. Looks terrible: A pity because I think it would have looked mighty tough if it wasn't for those gaps: Also, because there is no mounting tab on the outside edge, the whole thing rattles around a fair bit once bolted in. Could be pretty easily fixed by drilling a whole in the front bar and cable tying it, but I wasn't willing to wreck my front bar considering the thing doesn't look good anyway. Good for the bin I think!
  8. Had a bit of time this morning so I got round to this. Unfortunately I have to say the fitment of the headlight intake is woeful. Can't say I recommend anyone gets one of these unless you don't care too much how it looks.
  9. Forgot to post in here, but I fitted my cf cooling panel a few weeks ago. Fitment is pretty much spot on, couple of holes were a bit out and two of the bolts could do with a spacer or some washers, but otherwise it is good, much better than I was expecting: Haven't fitted the headlight intake yet, might do that next week and report back.
  10. Don't have a bov at the moment, never got it installed after the plenum install.
  11. Stao, any comment on how quickly the G3's should recover boost between gear changes?
  12. Guess I should update in here too. Took the car to the drags for the first time the other night to have some fun, but unfortunately it revealed the car still isn't running as it should. It also revealed how terrible a driver I am First run I managed to miss 2nd and it took about 2 seconds to get it into gear: Second run I missed 3rd: Third run I hit limiter in every gear: Fourth run I did ok but I just never got the hang of getting off the line: And got my PB on my last run: The 14's I could forgive as me just being utterly terrible. It's the best trap of 108mph that is frustrating.
  13. This is another interesting point. J-Rod made 340rwhp with his G2.5, and I beat him in all the runs we had. J-Rod. Get your car to Kwinana, I want a comparison!
  14. Turbo is bush bearing I believe. Ambient temperature was 28 degrees, 59% humidity and 7 knot head winds. Dunno how much of a difference that makes. Was tuned on a Dyno Dynamics roller dyno. The car definitely doesn't feel slow, and over the last half of the track I was catching most of my opponents, I think it was only that silver ute in that vid that started pulling away from me. It's just disappointing that the car always seems to make decent numbers on any dyno it goes on and the tuners don't have anything to say about it, then something happens that undermines that result and tells me it isn't actually making that power. Frustrating with the amount of money that has gone into it, I'd just like to know where to start looking to get it running to it's full potential. Yeh as Lithium said, for me it was slight retardation and too much excitement I missed 3rd by trying to change too fast and trying to jam it somewhere between 1st and 3rd. Missed second by hitting the gate and not getting it into gear. Calmed down on my third run and managed to get things smooth, but I like to rev too much
  15. Go build the 2530 then, why are you still here asking for advice when you have clearly already made up your mind and don't want advice?
  16. Yeh wheel spin in 1st when I launched, otherwise I was bogging down. Let me know when you're thinking of going down again, would be good to compare on the night. Trev, you get up here too!
  17. My limiter is set to 8000 and I was trying to shift by 7500... But I don't have the coordination to watch my tacho at that speed! Haha. I was actually catching most of my opponents by the end of the race, and they were running 13's/high 12's.
  18. Yeh I know the start wouldn't affect the trap time much, I was just discussing the boost response. My problem further up the track was shifting at the right time. I can't remember how I did on that run, but I may have hit limiter in 3rd which I did pretty frequently. Though I guess that still wouldn't account for ~10mph slower. Love my car
  19. Well it tended to be like that in 1st with the pro-tree, I wasn't getting off the line very well and bogged down a fair bit in 1st. 2nd is hard to tell cos the V8 next to me starts to make a bit of noise. From memory it was straight onto full boost in every other gear though... I'll have to take it for a drive and pay attention to the boost recovery. What would that indicate though? At the moment I'm aware I have either a restriction or possibly a cam timing issue.
  20. Yeh gate is currently venting to atmo. Boost recovery seems ok, though last night was the first time I've driven the car since it was tuned in September (aside from Powercruise which was the day after it was tuned).
  21. Well I'm no drag racer by any means, last night was my first attempt. I had hoped to be closer to 112, but I've got no idea what I was doing right/wrong so I was just trying different things and was getting faster with each run. Aside from me being a terrible driver, what else does it come down to? The car being off wouldn't surprise me, it's the laziest RB in existence. But I've been on the dyno at Allstar, Hyperdrive, Autoworx and Garage 101 and they all give me a big number, so are they all off?
  22. What* I* Meant* C- Needs to improve.
  23. You're not your. Thank you not thankyou. Don't worry buddy, we'll get you there.
