Hanaldo's R34 Gt(T) Skyline Build
Hanaldo replied to Hanaldo's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Thanks man As always, Powercruise has inspired me to do more. I'll get onto finding the missing power now, but unfortunately my tyres are almost down to wires now, so will have to spend some money there. Also thinking of ditching the Sparco seats and getting some Brides, the Sparco's have a bit of movement in the back rest which is getting a little annoying on boost So it might be awhile until I can do more serious upgrades -

Did this to my front right guard yesterday in an off-track excursion. Coming around the last corner I dropped 3rd at 6000rpm, looped out off the track. Car must have bounced when I came off, tyre caught the guard. Re-rolled it using a 3/4 drive The paint is quite damaged but I can respray that again, but unfortunately the guards lines have been distorted when it was twisted. So considering just replacing the whole guard. Happy to say that is the worst of the damage from the weekend though, car LOVED it Didn't miss a beat. Water temps never moved above 85 degrees, oil temps much the same. Haven't driven the car like that for a VERY long time, forgot how much I missed it! Also had this happen this morning after my first run: Genuine Apexi pod filter, bit too much vacuum. -
Thought some of the guys in here might be interested in this. Video I took earlier today of me in my R34 with ATR43 G3 (350rwhp) vs Jay-rod in his R34 with ATR43 G2.5 (340rwhp):

Well that was short, but fun. Really poorly organized this year though, I think they got way more cars than they were expecting. Was rubbish letting people out onto the track while the previous group was still coming off. And 2.5 hours of marshaling for 20 minutes of cruising sucks too, will have to get a VIP sticker if I go next year. Burnie, great chatting to you again man, good luck in the drags!

Yeh they here a bit slow yesterday as well. Better today, everyone has discovered that the 'speed limit' isn't actually enforced haha. Will upload more vids tonight -

Your car is way too quiet man -
Lachlan, the hippie killer still registered?? Anyone up there tonight? I'm still getting the car ready. Will see you out there tomorrow bishes!

It does it's job really really well, but it depends what you want to use it for.

Cheers mate, plenum is Plazmaman

Here's my latest efforts:

What exhaust have you got, 3"? Most 3" exhausts will do it to some degree.
-
It won't be backfire mate, your injectors cut out on decel. You might get the occasional backfire when coming off throttle, but it shouldn't backfire on decel. Sounds like the usual popping associated with big exhausts.

Ahh I think I might remember your car there! I remember seeing a 34 that I was pretty sure was stock. If we end up on the track together we shall have to have some runs! You know... for science

Highly recommend them dude. Danny was great, very very helpful. He didn't come across as just being interested in making more money, he seemed like he genuinely WANTS to tune my car. Walked me through everything he did, couldn't get hold of me while I was in hospital so he texted me instead, gave me a list of things he thinks might be causing the restriction and where to start, etc. Whole thing only cost me $715 as well, $550 for the tune (complete retune, he didn't use any of Allstar's settings) and he needed to weld some pipes for me, etc. -
Yeh the G2 was full boost by about 4500rpm. The old setup never worked very well. Between the new ECU, plenum, and cams; I've sorted that out somewhere. I'll get it operating at full potential sometime. For now I'm happy, I haven't driven the thing in 10 months so I just want to enjoy it for a bit. As soon as Kermit can fit me in for the piping then I'll get all that done, then try to find what else is holding it back.

Has the boost controller got a 'vacuum' source plumbed into the top of it, above the diaphragm? If not, a 6 pound spring is very soft, without the boost controller helping it stay shut, it's going to struggle to hold boost.
