  1. Just gonna copy/paste from the Hypergear thread, cos I'm lazy So here's my graph: Red line is high boost setting at 18psi, blue line is low boost setting at 16psi with the gain set more conservatively to bring it on slower. You can see there isn't a lot of difference in the power output between the two settings. Compared to the previous tune at Allstar, I have picked up almost 1500rpm of response though. Full boost used to be at almost 5500rpm; now it's at about 4100rpm. So it's a totally different beast. This is even more responsive than my old G2 used to be, so the new setup is doing something right. Still can't drive it myself though, stupid pain medication And here is the video I posted in there as well:

  4. How'd you go mate? 340 or something if I remember correctly? You entering PC or just coming to watch? Would be good to head down the straight vs another Hypergear
  5. You entering, Wes? I shall be there Looking forward to giving the car a hiding for the first time since last Powercruise
  6. My thoughts exactly. I'm not unhappy. I'll upload the graphs tomorrow, you can see where the power hits a wall. Yeh not bagging out my previous tuners, Andy especially has been very helpful in the past. Danny is just the first that has appeared to be actually interested in tuning the car and not just seeing it as more work. Will try dropping exhaust again next time it goes in, but Danny doesn't think that's it. Last time I dropped it there was only a 5rwhp difference anyway. Mine is all 2.5", but it's the shape of it that's a restriction. I've got 3 90 degree bends on the hot side before it goes into the cooler, really it only needs one. The cold side has 4 90 degree bends. So it's very convoluted. I did actually have it booked in with Kermit to have the piping done last weekend, but with the lost valve seat I didn't want to drive it.
  7. 350rwhp @16psi, exactly the same power at 17/18/19/20 and 21psi. It just hits a wall. IAT on the 18psi run gets up to 41 degrees, 16psi is 15 degrees. So it's not liking something. My temporary intercooler piping is a problem for sure, and I need a 4" intake pipe. But tuner doesn't think those alone would be enough to do what it's doing. He's given me a list of things to start with, so I'll get onto it and see if we can figure it out. Hugely impressed with this tuner by the way. For people in Perth, I highly recommend Danny at Garage 101. He is the only tuner I've been to who has asked me in detail about my car, right down to what headgasket and studs are in it. Took 25 minutes to drop it off because he wanted to know everything about it. Then he texted me when it was done because I was in hospital and couldn't take his call; called him the next day to ask how much I owed him and instead he spent 20 minutes walking me through what it had done and what he thought the problem was and what he thinks it should be doing. Every other place I've been to has been "yeh your cars done, it didn't do what you thought it would, come give me money now".
  8. Video should be public now guys, sorry about that.
  9. Teaser video of my car running again: Mate was driving and was too nervous to drive it hard, so when I can drive again I'll get some better footage.
  10. Indeed Car made 350rwhp @16psi. Also made 350rwhp @20psi, so it's got a restriction holding it back somewhere. But it will do for now It'll still be at Powercruise making a bit of noise
  11. I'd be surprised if those mods were causing higher knock, unless your previous tune was pretty close to the edge. But it's definitely better to be safe than sorry, if it were my car I would assume it is knocking and not drive it hard until you can get a tune. You can still drive it, just don't go loading it up everywhere.
  12. Damn just too late for Powercruise oh well, was always going to be tight!
  13. Haha oh I thought you'd seen the Hypergear thread. The car is all done, it was the only car my tuner had to tune yesterday. He texted me this last night: "Car went OK. Didnt ooze hp unfortunately. It doesn't like boost at all. It appears there is a restriction at around 340 or 350 hp. After that it doesn't make good hp. 20 psi is hardly any more powerful than 16 or 17 psi which indicates a flow restriction or bad intercooler that has pressure restriction. It went about 350 at 18 psi but went almost the same hp at 16 psi. Needs pipework fixed up. Blew 2 pipes off. Base timing was 10 degrees out. Very hard work." So it's not perfect. But it's my car, so it was never going to run smoothly. I am just happy it made it off the dyno in one piece and didn't commit suicide again anyway, for now I'm happy. I now intend to hammer the thing at Powercruise, drive it and enjoy it for a bit, and then see what needs doing.
  14. Haha will hopefully update later today lads, surgery went well but unfortunately I won't be able to drive for a few days talk about a tease!? trying to sort out a couple of mates to drive me in and drive the car home. Sort of have to, tuner doesn't have space to hold on to it
  15. He said most places measure the guides and think they are too loose and need doing, then they make the custom ones tighter. But if you actually look at the Nissan specs, their valve guides are much much looser compared to most other heads. Not to say that what Headtorque or any other head shop does is wrong, he just said it can cause complications. Well I had knee surgery today, so I'm actually writing this from my hospital bed lol. But my tuner just texted me: "Car went OK. Very hard work." I'm happy with that for now! Considering the run I've had with this fkn thing so far, I'm impressed it even made it off the dyno I'll upload charts when I can. I now intend to hammer the fkn thing at Powercruise, drive it for a bit, then I'll look into sorting out whatever is holding it back.
  16. Tuner cringed this morning when I told him valve guides had been done... he said he'll see how the car goes on the dyno and push it as far as he's comfortable, but he said with the motor having been apart, and given its still on the stock exhaust manifold, he thinks it will be between 350-380rwhp. Shall see how it goes!
  17. Get rid of existing and get braided from the turbo to the block. Personally I would get something custom made from somewhere like Enzed (well actually I make my own lines using Speedflow gear, but I assume you're not game to try that?). But plenty of people on here seem to be using the Kando lines with no problems.
  18. Yeh the two bolts at the back are easy, the one at the front is a farkin pain in the ass.
  19. Ahhh I see! Yehhh that would have been perfect lol.
  20. Yeh I did. No luck it's apparently not at the post office, it's in a storage facility somewhere. Is that the finished product Stao?? If so, that's completely different to the part I'm after.
  21. Same. Using a GTR bov on mine fore the past 2 years now, no problems with strange noises at all. Can you post a video of thwarted sound at all??
  22. Not sure if... I lolled anyway.
