Temporarily Block Off External Wastegate?
Hanaldo replied to Hanaldo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yehh, I'm just going to wait for it. Farkin how shit is AusPost? Got notification this morning from DHL that the valve seat has arrived in Ellenbrook, which is where I live. So I called them up to see if there was any chance of getting it today, but they said basically they no longer have anything to do with it, it has been forwarded on to AusPost. Called up AusPost, delivery is scheduled for the 25th - the day of my tune. So no tune for me HOW does it come 25,000km's overnight, and then take fkn 2 business days to come 1.5km's to my house? -

Silver 33 with SAU stickers in the right rear quarter at Steel Blue Oval again today. If you're on here, I'd love to know who I'm working with! -
Cheap! Must have gone down in price since I had one made...

He knows about it, he posted in there too lol.

Highly unnecessary. IBTL.

Well depends on the turbo. Intake pipe should ideally be the same size as the inlet to the turbo. So if you've got one with a 3" compressor inlet then 3" intake pipe will do, if you've got one with a 4" inlet then ideally a 4" intake pipe would get the best results. Not sure what you're asking for with "what you need"? You need some pipe and some welding skills if you want the PCV and BOV returns? All been covered in this thread before though.

Temporarily Block Off External Wastegate?
Hanaldo replied to Hanaldo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
It's a Turbosmart CompGate 40. 40mm, obviously. Stao offered to machine one up as well, but I couldn't be 100% sure of fitment and I need it by Monday... The replacement seat is currently in Perth, was express posted via DHL. With any luck it will even be there waiting for me when I get home, or it will arrive Monday morning. But previous dealings with DHL have taught me it gets to Perth overnight and then takes 2-3 days to get to my door from there, so it will most likely only rock up on Tuesday -
Temporarily Block Off External Wastegate?
Hanaldo replied to Hanaldo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hmmm, good point. Really I should wait until I have the replacement valve seat, but it's a tight race as to whether my valve seat arrives in time to get it to my tuner as it is, would be easier if the car was at mine -
I wouldn't have a clue myself, but from memory Simon said it adds 7% to the total power. As does their dyno apparently. So together my power figure is apparently 14% out. I think that's what it worked out to, the question was whether my 393rwhp figure on Allstar's dyno was accurate compared to my 318rwhp on Autoworx Dyno Dynamics a day later.

Hey guys, Just a quick question, wanted to see if anyone has any ideas on how I could temporarily block off my external wastegate with V-Band flange? Either at the wastegate or at the screamer, doesn't really matter. Reason being, I need to drive my car home from where I've been working on it before it goes in for a tune next week, but I have lost the valve seat from my wastegate so the damn thing is permanently open. Car sounds like a tractor and is really loud, so I'm worried about getting pulled over. Going to have to drive it regardless, but wanted to see if anyone might know how I could shut it up. Obviously I won't be boosting around or anything, the car is untuned anyway. Just want to reduce the likelihood of getting pulled up. Cheers, Martin.

S14 With Neo Rb25 Drift Car.
Hanaldo replied to Simon-S14's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Whaaat? Maybe for 2 seconds near the end, for the rest of it you were like a ghost of Tom's car! Anyway, top quality driving mate! That's the sort of thing I'm hangin out for in the ADGP at the end of October -
Interesting that they didn't use any correction method, I've never had a run on Allstar's dyno without SAE being used.

Agree with Damo, to me it looked like you were all over Monkhouse! -
That's just how long you gotta wait mate, to be honest I'd be very very very surprised if Sean or Andy know who I am before I rock up with my car and they've both tuned it many times. Got nothing to do with you not having had your car tuned there before. As for how long it takes, generally if it's JUST a tune and it all goes according to plan then it's done by about 3-4pm if you drop it off first thing in the morning. But there's also a chance you don't get it back that day, it depends how they go with the other cars they have booked in. And if you're having other work done, ie. turbo install + tune or something like that then forget about getting it back on the same day, that's usually between 2-3 days. In short: plan to be without the car for a few days, if you get it back sooner then that's a bonus.

Why would it only be a restriction when it's hot? The substrate doesn't change, it just gets hot... Eh, we're in WA

So I Un-Turbo'd My R32 Gtst And Its Running Rich
Hanaldo replied to IM-32-FK's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Oh it'll run just fine. Might be a lil' rich though. -
Based on what exactly? There is barely 5hp difference between my car with the exhaust on vs off...

PM sent, thanks Stao.

I did yeh, they sell the gate but don't seem to have the replacement parts?
-
They're a popular gate, I'm sure someone somewhere has one. Also, that first reason you mentioned is just preposterous Yeh I've tried, it seems nobody keeps any stock. Turbosmart HQ said they would need to get it in from overseas. Australian product with no product in Australia, it's great.
-
Nobody?? I'm desperate guys, I'm willing to give you like 50 bucks or a carton of piss or whatever you want, just to borrow one!? I really need this tune
-
Has anyone done back to backs vs stock or other??
