Ah fair enough. Yeh Andy is a top guy, very helpful. Has even been helping me over the last month despite my car being at Allstar.
-
Don't ever make that promise... Who tuned it mate, if you don't mind me asking? It looks like you covered up their business name on the dyno sheet, so flick me a pm if you don't want to disclose it publicly.

Is your catch can venting to atmosphere? If so, then your setup sounds correct. If the catch can is venting to atmosphere, the PCV valve NEEDS to be blocked, otherwise the catch can is a massive air leak at idle. If the catch can is not venting to atmo, then there is no need to block the PCV unless it is stuffed.

Hanaldo's R34 Gt(T) Skyline Build
Hanaldo replied to Hanaldo's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Haha yeh, would be good. At the moment I'm more likely to go WMI, it's just way easier. To be honest though, I think any more engine mods are on hold for awhile. Whatever power it makes with this tune is where it will stay for now. I just want to drive the damn thing again. The original plan was to have it ready for the reopening of Barbegallo, but I've overshot that by about 2 months now Dying to hit the track again. Actually next money might be on a lap-timer, I still don't know what I'm getting around Barbs -
So why not Poncams?

Hanaldo's R34 Gt(T) Skyline Build

Yehh, results would be excellent Haha would use E85 if it was an option here, but I'm not paying $3 a litre. Until it becomes more available, I'll be on PULP. -
Erm... Unless you are referring to HKS Step 1's, what are step 1 cams? If you are referring to HKS Step 1's then just get those, what's the issue?

Vs Hypergear? I'm in. Meet point is City West. Let me know when you get here

Yehhh sucks dude, I had major shin splints last year that had my physio worried it was compartment syndrome. Scans gave me the all clear though, and I'm back on my feet this year after following my physios advice. It was essentially just changing my exercise routines and incorporating the stretching, which it sounds like you're already doing. I also needed to get orthotics, as I have flat feet which was putting a lot of strain on my shins. Especially because I'm a 'toe-runner'. My advice - definitely hit the pools/ocean. Swimming is the best. I had absolutely no pain from doing it, and of course it's amazing exercise, it will get you very fit if you keep it up. Other than that I was mainly on the bike and rower for my cardio and then just did a lot of resistance training. I was fine with anything low impact, but even today I keep well away from treadmills. I can run on grass but not on roads or hard surfaces. As for stretches, how is your calf length? Measure this by standing in front of a wall and bend your knee to touch the wall, then move your foot as far away from the wall as you comfortably can. Measure the distance between your toes and the wall. When I first went to physio, my right calf was 7cm and my left was 8.5cm. Needless to say, the pain was a LOT worse in my right leg. So I had to do the knee-to-wall stretching 3 times a day for a few minutes, plus the traditional calf stretches. My calf lengths are now both equal on 13cm. My situation might be a bit different to yours given I was having a lot of shin pain whereas yours is calves. But I seriously recommend you do a lot of stretching, don't skimp out on it because it really does help. Also get stuck into swimming, it's awesome

It's more likely to be smoke. You most likely had a bit of oil on your hands or you dripped a bit from the oil line, which is now on the rear housing or the dump pipe. It will just smoke a bit until it burns off, nothing to be concerned about.

Cals Budget 32 Build

Yeh don't use that stuff hey, you'll have endless problems. 0-gauge cable as a minimum. I'm using CAT 00-gauge for mine. And yeh, most of the time, Jaycar employees are about as useful as Supercheap employees. Who are generally about as useful as a bucket with no bottom. So it doesn't surprise me that they told you it would work. -
*Should* have a result with my new setup tomorrow. Car is fixed and running perfectly now, will hit the dyno tomorrow. So providing nothing else goes wrong, will finally have a result.

This!

Yeh, has a pair of -5's.

Didn't you have a screamer on the stock turbo??

Aren't Tomei Poncams VCT compatible?

Rb20 Spools As Though Brakes Are Held On

Consult is Nissan's diagnostic system. There is a small plug underneath your steering wheel that you can connect to a laptop to read the ECU's inputs and diagnostic codes. -
My Bnr34 Vspec Uk-Model In Germany

Exciting times! -
I don't think so; my mechanics RB26 has a Hypertune plenum with a single throttle body and it still sounds like a 26.

Have you ever had any experience with the stuff? It leaks like crazy and doesn't last very long. What is the point in having a wastegate pipe plumbed into your exhaust if it simply leaks everywhere anyway? It also doesn't flow very well, it is much more restrictive than solid piping in the same diameter. It's only suitable purpose it to be used as a temporary solution until proper parts can be used. Or on tractors/trucks.
-
Haha, Harley's have got nothin on a screamer...
-
It's really not practical. You would have to be driving around constantly on boost with the gate open for the cat to be at operating temperature.
-
Also make sure the screamer doesn't point straight at your steering rack. Those boots don't like screamers... To be honest, I think if you need to think about whether you want a screamer or not, then you don't want one. You can't be in two minds about it, gotta be prepared to take the consequences if you get pulled over. If just the thought of getting defected puts you off then don't do it. You're not going to lose a lot of power by having the gate plumbed back in anyway. Seriously Ron. You got commitment issues man.

So many variables... What will the car be used for, how much power do you want, what car is it going in etc. etc. etc.
