  1. Aye, take it elsewhere ladies Right, bit of an update. Didn't work on it as much as I hoped this weekend, I went down to Collie for Gazzanats today and need to do some other work tomorrow, so I'm afraid last night is all I'll get done this week. Responsibilities suck Anyway, I went and got the correct 200 series fittings from Go Gear yesterday, and I got round to rewiring the new injector plugs, so this is how things are looking now: This one irks me a bit because I forgot to put the back piece of the fitting on, the piece that sits on the hose and makes it look neater. Of course once the hose goes on these damn fittings it isn't coming off again without cutting it. I do like the gauge though Next step is plenum on. Right now it is still looking a bit busy on the intake side in the photos as I have all the wiring harnesses just sitting there, but I will clean that up a bit still so will look much better when the plenum goes on. The injector harness is a bit of an ugly shame, but not much I can do about that without making a nice neat new one from scratch. That's a job for another time, for now it isn't too bad. I also bought some bolts to finally finish off the washer bottle relocation, I just couldn't be bothered with the fiddly side of measuring/marking/drilling/etc. after the 7 hours of driving today, so I'll do that next time as well.
  2. That is awesome. That right there is the difference between a $400 manifold and a top quality manifold. Love this thread. Between your awesome wiring, those engine covers, that manifold, and all the other goodies, this is a great read.
  3. I think you will end up making a bigger mess. I would just try to find the right size washer and do it properly. Mine eventually sealed without a washer, the coolant forms it's own seal, but I leaked a lot of coolant and made quite a mess before that happened. Take it from me, do it right the first time. The water lines are a bit easier to get back in once they have had time to get used to their new shape. It's not too bad a job.
  4. Yeh in all honesty it could have been a hell of a lot worse, I was in a bad mood still annoyed but it's not the end of the world. James, you and your GTR's can suck it!
  5. They are amazing hey, I love it.
  6. Wait, I don't follow this part?? I'm not going to go through the battery tray, I'll be routing the piping back through the side where my original cooler piping went?
  7. Yeh. At over 160kms/h. Which is exactly what Ash and everyone else has been saying. Realistically those cars were quite even, despite almost a 100rwkw difference between them (if those are legit figures?). Factor in other variables like weight, driver ability, blah blah blah. In the end they were quite close, Supra was milliseconds ahead even at higher speed.
  8. Well even without this I wouldn't be up and running yet because the intercooler piping looks like it's going to be a hell of a job. But it is annoying. I've decided I'm not waiting for postage, I'm heading down to Go Gear later so I'll get it all plumbed up tonight. Injectors should be online by tonight as well, I just haven't been in the mood to put the new pins on yet. So it will be mostly back together, just the catch can and piping to sort out.
  9. They will pay for standard postage. I need these parts so I want express postage, I would have to pay for that. Even with express postage I'm looking at 2 weeks of waiting. I could have the car together and tuned in that time. I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and head down to my local supplier, I can't wait for postage. I mean I could have everything back together tonight, or I could sit on my hands for a couple of weeks. Anyone wanna buy some 100 series fittings?
  10. Fair enough, misunderstood you. Petrol vapour is flammable... Doesn't sound like a quality idea to me?
  11. Yeh I just called them up and they seemed very helpful, but essentially said there is nothing they can do. They are happy to exchange the fittings, but I have to pay for postage which is $15 each way and it will take a few weeks.I may as well just go and get some cheap Eaton fittings locally and save paying for postage and weeks of downtime. This is a right pain in the ass seeing as these fittings are what I am waiting on to get the car back together. My other option is to head down to Go Gear, my local Speedflow supplier. They've got the fittings I need in stock, and apparently there is a 200 series -6 180 degree hose end. Just means I will have paid $105 for these two fittings. All because people can't do their god damn job.
  12. If you want black mesh, I bought gutter guard from Bunnings for $2 or so, works a treat and looks stock.
  13. Well yes, but had I known I couldn't use these fittings I would have just bought some EFI hose from my local Hose Co. for $7 a meter, I went with the $30-a-meter-braided hose (which I've now cut so won't be getting my money back for) with these fittings because I thought it would really finish off the HKS rail and Plazmaman. No idea what I'm going to do. It's pretty much $200 wasted, I can't use any of it. I can't even use the braided line for anything else now because I've already cut it. Honestly don't know what I'm going to do, I guess I have to try just sending the fittings back and getting them replaced with 400 series, but that puts the whole project on the back-burners now.
  14. I can pull the fitting off the end of the line with just my hands. There's no way I'll be using that on my car. Means weeks of waiting. I don't want the 200 series fittings either, they are hideous. They also don't make the ones I need. There is no 180 degree fitting in the 200 series, so it won't fit, I need the 180 degree fitting.
  15. Didn't say Nismo was your best option, but it's certainly better than the empty can full of steel wool idea. Now Oz is showing you how to do it right, copy his setup
  16. Yes I remember you asked about it in the other thread, I was going to notify you when I was sure it all worked. Got everything from speedflowdirect.com, by far the cheapest prices I have found on Speedflow stuff. Unfortunately my excitement from earlier today has petered out into yet more frustration and disappointment. The f**king fittings don't fit the hose. As in, they fit... But they aren't tight. If I pull on them hard enough I can pull the fitting straight off the end. Not good. Did a bit of research on the Speedflow website, and I think the issue is that the 100 series fittings I bought are not compatible with the 200 series braided hose that I got. Which is f**king annoying because I emailed them and asked them what I needed and they gave me the list, so for it to now not work is really god damn frustrating. I'm confused though because 200 series hose is the only hose you can use for unleaded fuel line, and 100 series fittings are the red and blue anodized fittings. Obviously there are cars everywhere sporting the 100 series fittings for their fuel lines, so what fkn hose are they using or what am I missing? So damn annoyed right now, had hoped the car would be back together this weekend and now I'm back to square one with no idea where to start. Not happy.
  17. If it's any consolation, it usually gets better after a few days... If you don't have to run on them again, my feet have been like this for months
  18. Fairly sure they are American, but yes the whole company is just about knock offs. I mean they can't even come up with their own description: Not sure why Enkei haven't sued them for that. Anyway, don't want to clutter up this thread with that, it's an excellent build thread and at least they are nice looking wheels!
  19. The difference in terms of actual speed/distance is negligible man. I mean you're talking tens of a second. At Powercruise last year I raced a lot of different types of cars down the main straight when I had 330rwhp, the only car that really 'chopped' me was 440 Cuda and that thing is mental. I wasn't getting really badly beaten by a lot out there from the rolling starts, a cars length if that. Similar story between me and my mate when we hit Barbagallo last, I was making 393rwhp and he makes just over 320rwhp, I never really got away from him on the straight. Roy's video was a good example of how 300rwkw wasn't reallyyyyy a lot faster than 250rwkw. Think about it. How much work goes into cars that run 10.1 seconds to get them into the 9 second bracket?
  20. Will do, makes it easier to diagnose if I f**k something up
  21. This does f**k all, trust me. It's more likely to leave you with bits of disintegrated stocking and metal fibers in your intake then separate any oil from the air. You have a GTR, give it the parts it deserves and get a properly baffled catch can. I got my custom combined 2L catch can/radiator overflow bottle from Pro Fabrications for $390 delivered, Brad is a good bloke and knows exactly what he is doing. Spend a bit more cash and do it right.
  22. Lol trust me, you get sick of the knocks and rattles that come as a result of doing dodgy things like that. Do it once and do it right or don't do it at all. I'm going to make damn sure that mine is rock solid, the stock one used to rattle against the front bar and it drove me insane. Never again.
  23. They are open barrel crimpers, they look like this: Can't believe nobody sells these damn things seeing as open barrel connectors aren't exactly rare I may have just sourced a set though, so going to go check it out. In other news, how good is that feeling you get when you are waiting for days for a parcel to be delivered, and you get a knock on the door. You open the door and there he stands. Santa Claus wearing an Australia Post shirt. And in his hand he holds one of these: And in that magical Santa-bag of toys are these: So tonight I'll be measuring everything up, cutting the braided hose, and putting the fittings on ready for it all to go together tomorrow sometime. Then it should all be good to go to put the plenum on and get everything back together. If this crimp tool I have found is the right type then I can wire up the injectors tomorrow as well and then they will be good to go. Then that's pretty much everything until I can get this catch can problem sorted out :\
  24. Yeh man, got it from Auto1. You could get them for cheaper if you bought online, I just didn't want to wait for it to be delivered. I'll be mounting it in the stock position, under the battery tray in the left hand wheel well. It just doesn't have a filler neck, the cap sits under the stock hole so I can open up the cap and fill it up but it doesn't impede my space in the engine bay. Very neat. Looks sorta like this to give you an idea: Pictures will be up in my build thread possibly this weekend if I can be bothered getting some bolts for the brackets to mount it I was going to just ditch the washer bottle completely but I'm in the habit of doing things properly, especially when it isn't hard.
  25. Do this ^ Or just buy a small universal washer bottle and mount it wherever there is space. That's what I'm doing as a result of my Plazmaman plenum, it's quite easy.
