The turbo I have should be enough compensation. Also, come on... Have you even read that thread? This is the conclusion: Don't get me wrong, I take my hat off to Cris and his dad for undertaking and completing that so well. But I have neither the skill or the time that is required for that. I can do basics, I can't start welding and machining the head, nor do all the necessary modifications to the plenum. For me to do that would end up costing countless times more than the Plazmaman as I wouldn't be able to do any of it myself. Spending money is the means, not the objective.

I've seen mixed results to be sure. But the general consensus that I have found in threads on here is that my best option (aside from staying stock obviously) to limit any losses from going forward facing is to use as close to the stock runner length as I can. The Greddy plenums and their copies change to shorter runners, and I've seen people claiming more power up top with losses through the middle. I've also seen people claiming losses across the whole rev-range and some who say there is no difference at all. Same goes for the Plazmaman. I'm not happy with the stock plenum, that's the situation. I don't want to stay stock so that's a non-issue. The issue is which plenum I change to. Is the Plazmaman my best option for maintaining as close to stock performance as possible, despite the extra cost, or is there a better option? If there's a better option then please fill me in.

Could say the same for paying 4k for Jap brand wheels. It is a lot of money. But I do want to go down the forward facing path, and the Plazmaman so far seems like the least dicking around to get fitted. I'll be honest, it is mostly about appearances. I don't like the stock cross over pipe or the intercooler plumbing and I'm done with spark plug changes being a 45 minute job. I don't care about adding numbers to my power figure, my main interest is not losing torque in the mid-range. If there's a better option then I'm all ears, I haven't paid for anything yet. Easy enough over on the east coast I imagine, but in WA E85 isn't really an option yet. I'm not keen on paying $600 odd dollars to buy a 200l drum that I have no room to store anywhere. The appeal of changing ECU's for the possibility of running E85 was lost when I got the $3500 quote to do so. When I get word that E85 has officially been made legal to sell at the pump here then I'll put it back on the priority list.

I get the feeling you're not the biggest fan of the Plazmamans Trent Is that just on the Neo, or do you not like them at all?
-
Right, so after a few back and forth emails with the Plazmaman sales team, I'm highly doubting they are going to be any help to me. I asked (before Dahtone replied here) whether the stock top feed fuel rail is going to be a problem, they said no not at all. So I said I've got Power Enterprise 660cc injectors which are about 70mm compared to the stock GTT's 60(ish)mm, so the fuel rail has been spaced about that much, will that be a problem. They responded by asking what brand injectors I am using They also said they have attached an image of an R34 using the stock fuel rail, but the attached image was clearly an R33 using an aftermarket fuel rail They now want to sell me a fuel rail they are making for the Neo. Of course. So I think I'm just going to go ahead and purchase the plenum and throttle body, and see how far I can get with what I've got. If it turns out things need to be changed then I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. I can see this plenum install having my car sitting in the shed for weeks, so it's going to have to wait 2 weeks or so until I get my daily back. I'll try my best to document the whole process for anyone else here wanting the same answers as me.

Not fussed about power, just as long as I don't go too far backwards with it.

There's 12 posts in this thread, half of them talking about whether the stock fuel system will work. If you're not gonna read those 12 posts, can you at least wait until I post the how-to thread so you can just look at the pretty pictures to see how it works out?
-
I'll write up a how-to thread for sure, there just isn't enough info for these on a 34. Hopefully it's easier than it seems, but it'll be fun no doubt

Does removing the dampener not cause problems? Am I best to get an aftermarket FPR with a built in dampener if I am ditching the stock one or will it not make a difference without it?
-
Ah ok that's easy then. So you just swapped them around as simple as that, or you ditched the dampener? Thanks again mate, have made this a whole lot easier for me haha. Another question, has anyone used the Plazmaman piping to the IC? Where is it routed, through the top of the battery tray requiring a new hole or can it go back through the side and underneath like my current FMIC piping goes? *EDIT* Oh yeh, what about the throttle cable Dahtone? Did the stock on fit as Plazmaman claim or did you need to make one up? I'm also assuming the TPS wiring will need to be extended which shouldn't be a big deal?
-
Dahtone you're a life saver! Thanks mate. Washer bottle relocation should be easy enough, but where do most people put theirs? I'll probably just get a smaller universal washer bottle and see where it can go. I've got no problem with ditching the traction control as I've done that already I will just spend the few hundred extra on the Plazmaman throttle body as well, might as well go all out if I'm spending this much money cleaning up the engine bay. What about the fuel pressure reg, I notice in your above picture that the car has an aftermarket fuel pressure reg fitted. Will stock get in the way at all? In this picture (stolen from 34GeeTeeTee's build thread ) it looks like it is going to be in the way: As well as this build thread I found on Skylineowners.com: Both these guys solved it by changing their fuel system completely, but am I safe to assume that these things can simply be moved out of the way or?

Hey all, Have spent the best part of 6 hours scouring not just this forum but the whole interwebz for information but just can't find any concrete answers. If there is a thread containing this information already, please abuse me and send me on my way So basically I am interested in getting a Plazmaman plenum for my 34, but would like to have a few questions answered first. Preferably with first hand experience, as I've found plenty of people who's brothers mates cousin has a friend yada yada... The biggest issue for me is the fuel system. Will this plenum fit onto my car with the standard top feed fuel rail? I'm using Power Enterprise 660cc injectors at the moment, which are a fair bit bigger than the factory items as well... If it will NOT fit, what are my options? Is it simply because of the rail, is it the injectors, do I need to switch completely and get side feed injectors on an aftermarket rail, etc?? What else needs to be done to fit this? From what I can see, the washer bottle is gonna have to be relocated so that the fuse box can move over to make way for the throttle body. Any help will be VERY much appreciated, as pretty as the Plazmaman plenum is, I'm getting rather sick of looking at them in R33's... Thanks a lot, Martin.

Can Anyone Lend Me Their Fc Hacko For A Hour Or 2?
Hanaldo replied to Jap_Muscle's topic in Victoria
Hi mate, Sorry this is off topic as I can't help with your issue in this thread, but this is the most recent post of yours that I could find. I was trying to PM you about something else and SAU let me know in no uncertain terms that you can not receive any knew PM's. Any chance your inbox is full and needs emptying? Am just after some advice on fitting a Plazmaman plenum to my R34, if you could PM me then I would really appreciate it. Cheers, Martin. -
Does anyone have experience using the Plazmaman in an R34 engine bay? Only person I know of is muchogarcia, he hasn't replied to a pm yet though.

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/341890-borg-warner-efr-series-turbos/ I'm sure I saw some people in there running that setup.
-
Helpful bloke too, has helped me out on a number of occasions and I'm not even in the same state as him. If I was in the same state, I know who would be tuning my car...
-
Trust me mate. I know how the car drives without the sensor. It is going to cause you issues that you don't 'feel' while driving, I'm telling you now. Either get it replaced, or put a 1v resistor inline to trick the ECU. I'm currently going through the same headache.

Doubt I'm gonna get the Jun style one, can't justify the price compared to the well known brands. Freddy was the original plan, but they don't make them specifically for 34's... Seems like a lot of farkin around to get them to fit. After a bit of research, I'd also like to keep the standard runners, don't want to lose mid-range.

300Kw Unopened 25 Club...
Hanaldo replied to joeyjoejoejuniorshabadoo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
And no wonder, look at that engine bay! I take my hat off to you sir, that goes straight to the top of my favourite 180's list. Will be buying the HPI mag for sure -
Yeh from what I can see, the Jun style ones on eBay look pretty high quality as well. Thing is, for $875 delivered, it would only cost $200 more to get a genuine Plazmaman... Worth it?
-
That's not such an issue, could simply block off the hose. Thing is, that boost sensor is wired to the ECU, which will flag DTC's and cause problems. Trust me, I am well aware of what happens when that sensor is disconnected lol.
-
Copy at this stage, more specifically the Autobahn ones because I've seen a lot around that are quite high quality. Unless anyone has any other recommendations? Have you got a link to the Jun style ones, are they decent enough quality? *EDIT* This one you mean? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NISSAN-SKYLINE-GTT-NEO-RB25-R34-RB25DET-INTAKE-MANIFOLD-/230522764064?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35ac3a3b20#ht_5173wt_905 For the price I could almost go genuine though...
