  1. I have cousins in NZ that I can speak to. I'm all for supporting local industries if they support me, but my local dealers aren't interested in helping me out. My tuner said he is happy to install and tune the VIPEC, but he is too busy to help me diagnose and fix my car running the NIStune. All the workshops I've spoken to are the same, they're not interested because my car is a conversion.
  2. That's the objective ^
  3. http://www.speedtechnz.com/shop/brands/link/GTT+Link+G4+-+Nissan+Skyline+R34+GTT.html And http://www.rpw.com.au/shop/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=3&category_id=868&page=shop.browse&limitstart=15&limit=20&vmcchk=1&Itemid=3 Still not sure if I want to buy through my tuner so they are better inclined to me or buy elsewhere and just get them to tune it. Sad world we live in that I even have to think about that
  4. Right, so I just got a price for the Vipec V44 from the local dealer; $1750 for just the plug in board. Would still need to get the harness extension, IAT sensor, and upgraded MAP sensor as it does only come with a 2.5 bar sensor. Compared to the Link which I can get for $1700 including all the above. I know which one I'm leaning towards at the moment...
  5. As far as I know, I don't know the exact process? Yep, have still got the .bin file from the last tune. Downloaded the one from the ECU and they are exactly the same.
  6. Hey all, As some of you are aware from my posts in the Hypergear thread, I've been having trouble with my stock ECU running NIStune pulling fuel/timing randomly because I have deleted traction control. After discussing the problem with Matt at NIStune Developments, we decided that to clear the traction control error code from the ECU we would try reprogramming my ECU with a 08V10 WC34 S2 Stagea image. Now Matt tried this configuration on the bench, as well as in his own car, and it should have worked. I'm also aware of people on here who are running Stagea ECU's in their 34 no worries (looking at you Ron). However, after picking up the ECU from the post office yesterday and plugging it all back in, the car now won't start. The engine cranks, but won't fire. I figured it must not be getting spark, so I plugged in my laptop to check DTC's and sure enough the error code [21] Ignition Signal popped up. Now before I sent the ECU off to be reprogrammed, the car was running fine, I had been driving it the day before I removed it. I have not changed anything else while the car has been sitting there, I just disconnected the battery, unplugged the ECU, and it has been sitting there ever since. Am I missing something here that I need to do or change? What exactly does this code mean, I figured it means the ECU is not getting a signal from the coilpacks? ... Halp? Cheers, Martin.
  7. Bah, animals. That's a very nice looking car too. Not really in my area, but I'll be sure to keep an eye out mate.
  8. Recommend speaking to Brad at Pro Fabrications about the catch can
  9. Well if the Vipec comes with the 3 bar sensor and works out to be cheaper than I should be all good, I won't be running more than 2 bar of boost anyway.
  10. Yeh man. I think the extra $200 allows me to put a HKS sticker on it.
  11. Yeh I was thinking I would get that as well, otherwise I'll get it installed and then find I need more inputs and have to change it again, doesn't make sense. So can anyone tell me more about QuickTune? Is it as easy as it sounds for tuning cruise cells?
  12. Yeh, can get the link for around $1500. Will see what price my tuner will do on the VIPEC, but if they are the same then it's no biggy either way.
  13. I sometimes get a similar thing mate. I think it is from having a very rich tune on full boost (10:1), which can cause a bit of build up on the plugs and cause them to misfire. My leaner cruising AFR's eventually burn this build up away, making the misfire disappear.
  14. Probably the wire in model Yeh, if I do end up getting one then it will be the plug in model not the wire in.
  15. The plug in V44 is exactly the same, it is a board that gets put in the stock enclosure.
  16. Fair enough. I have through that thread but did skip a few pages, guess that was a bad choice
  17. Hey all, I've got a carbon fibre cam belt cover that I want to replace my stock one with, just wanted to find out if there is an easier way to do it than having to reset the timing again afterwards. Obviously if that's the only way to do it safely then I'll do that, just wanted to find out. Cheers, Martin.
  18. Ah fair enough mate, no problem. Sorry, I misunderstood your last PM. Cheers, Martin.
  19. Yeh? Surely that's just because of the 30, lots of guys use these fittings? Not too mention the 33 RB25's have the standard breather that goes vertically up Will check out summit racing as well, cheers bubba speedflow.com had the right stuff, I just don't know which ones I need
  20. Hey Brad, Havent received a reply to my pm yet so thought I'd make sure it hasn't been lost again; any chance on a price for those fittings? Cheers, Martin.
  21. Almost forgot why I posted this in the WA section lol; if anyone works somewhere in this industry and would be able to get me a good price on fittings, could you please pm me?
  22. Hey all, I'm after some speedflow fittings for my 25 Neo, either the usual anodized blue/red or just gloss black. However, I'm not sure exactly what I need. Go Gear are way too expensive and weren't much help, while Enzed had no idea what I wanted strangely enough. As I understand it, I need the weld in female fittings to go into the rocker cover, and then I need 90 degree barbed hose end fittings to suit 5/8th push on hose. But looking at an Earls catalogue or similar, I dont know which ones to order. Is anyone able to give me an exact part number or point me in the right direction? Any help appreciated, Cheers, Martin.
  23. Ah, well if it comes with a 3 bar sensor then I'm all good. So the vac line gets plumbed into the plenum? The plan was to change the ecu now to sort out the current problems and then change to a forward facing later down the track. I could still do that, though I guess I would have to get my tuner to install the plenum, could have done it myself.
  24. So they are literally exactly the same? I thought I read that the Link came with a 7 bar map sensor while the VIPEC only has a 2.5. Must have read that wrong cos I can't find it now. Bit annoying because I want to run 23 psi Another thing, where does the map sensor usually get installed? Is there much point going to the map based ecu if the sensor gets installed in the plenum given that I'm planning on changing to forward facing?
  25. Yeh I did briefly consider the Adaptronic, but they don't make a plug in version for the 25DET Neo and when it's only another $300ish to get the Link or Vipec then I'd rather just pay that bit extra.
