dont mean to hi jack this thread but ive just bought one of these hks low mount manifolds and i intend fitting it to a r33 rb25 with gt30 , a/r 70 comp compressor cover with rb25 internal wastegate exhaust housing am i going to have problems clearing engine mount as well????

gunmetal r33 i will be selling manifold and if i dont need the spacer plate that im currently using to clear the big a/r 70 comp cover i will let you know . -
great thanx again for pics and info. i m about to get me low mount hks one piece cast iron manifold fitted and i will probably get this done at the same time. sk was there any performance gains to peak or midrange with these changes when running high boost??? how does it change shape of power curve? mine seems to have a small dip at the top before gong up again .

yes ive got the six blader. i had 260rwkws original tune with this turbo but i wasnt running cams , just aftermarket manifold. awesome turbo, power comes on very hard at 3800rpm!. i drive on low boost most of the time but even with 14psi ive got almost 250rwkws. i get 10psi by 3000rpm on low and even earlier on high boost! cant wait to hit the strip with my nittos... -

thanks for the replys, thanks sk for pics thats exactly what i want to do! would it be best to use 2.5 inch pipeing as to keep the velocity of air up? howe big is the opening to throttle body 2.5 inch or 3inch? would 3inch to plenum be too laggy? cheers carl.

im looking at shortening my pipe work to stock plenum and trying to eliminate some twists and turns without buying a greddy $1200 plenum . my aim is to lesson turbo lag and increase throttle response. i intend on doing this by 90 degree right turn coming out of stock plenum and straight down plenum side of my rb25 to intercooler. like people do when they run a high mount turbo and do away with the stock cross over pipe. i want to hear from anybody that has any knowledge on the subject??? at the moment im running low mount gt30 with stock cooler pipes straight over the top but if you follow the pipe coming out from the stock plenum it probably has about 4 bends in it before it reaches the plenum side of the intercooler, sureley i can shorten this pipe by doing what i have said above and reduce the length of pipe work and at least two bends???

got my rb25 series one 370cc/min hiflow to 500cc/min here in melbourne by avo . it was a while ago now but i think it cost around the $450 mark. my tuner said that it was hard to get them to idle without running to rich and that they were more like 650cc/min. having said that though im running 281rwkws with heaps of duty cycle left. car idles fine and ive had no problems. ive had them in my car for the past 2 years.

its definately 500hp turbo checked the id tag with whats on gcgs web site. i emailed gcg yesterday about changeing over the a/r .63 internal wastegate for an a/r .82 internal wastegated one and mark larden from gcg confirmed that they can do it for $450 exhange or $600 outright. also that i should pull 290 to 300rwkws but with an extra 500 to 700rpm in lag or spool up! stuff that i say! well at least i know now. think i will leave it as it is. thanks for your input guys. -

low mount stainless manifold, ces split 3 inch dump pipe into a 4 inch magic cat, then 3 inch continueing to barrell style muffler with 4.5inch tip. 600x300x80mm front mount intercooler with stock plenum and pipeing. link ecu running 550cc injectors. splitfire coils. motor has been fully rebuilt with wiseco forged pistons on prepped gtr rods. running 8.5 to 1 comp. head mild port, running tomei poncams step ones 256inlet and exhaust, no adjustable cam gears. 600hp bosche fuel pump. i hope i havent left anything out. -

wow , a few different answers there. does anyone know what the difference would be in rpm, what 300rpm , 500rpm? to spool up to full boost? i thought that posting here i might get some intelligent answers?? instead i get," i can get you a dyno print out for 300rwkws if you like". if i was just after outright power i wouldnt be playing around with such a small turbo would i? all im trying to do is discuss my options before going ahead or research before going ahead, i appreciate your help so far guys but weve come along way say since the sub zero workshop pulled 10.9 in a skyline over 5 years ago. they were using two of my turbos to pull 330rwkws . this was and is still impressive but now lots of peoples skylines are doing it and probably with less lag than is associated with two big twins. im just trying to see before i try to extract a little more. im a very happy with the way it drives at the moment and yes power does come hard at 3500/3800rpm. with boost starting at just over 2000rpm. has anybody actually driven or owned a skyline with a gt30 500hp rated turbo with a a/r.82 exhaust housing? because if it takes another 500rpm to spool the thing then know i probably would not bother but if its less than i would probably consider it. -

yeah a mixed bag of results thanx guys. i forgot to mention that my motor has been rebuilt is running 8.5 to 1 wiseco forged pistons and tomei poncams. 281rwkws in shootout mode. -

im really interested to see if anyone is running a gt30 500hp turbo on their rb25 on these forums with an a/r.82 exhaust housing and if so what power are they getting in rwkws and at what boost pressure and rpm does it reach full boost by with what supporting mods??? cheers carl.

im looking at upgrading from my current china low mount stainless steel manifold to something that is preferably made of steam pipe, 6 into one style that i low mount my gt30 to with or without provision for an external gate. please post here if you have something like this to offer with pics if possible, cheers carl.
