just thought id post this up to see if i can get an unbiased opinion lol? i recently sold my r33 series 1 1994 r33 gts-t that had 346rwkw. i now find myself in a a bit of a delemma between the car i should buy and the car ive always dreamed of owning. im 36 years old with a wife and two small children and a mortgage, although i bought my house 7 years ago before everything went up! so i have enough money left to still own a 2001 evo 7 or a 1996/97 r33 gtr , both cars would be standard. i already own a family friendly nissan patrol but i was at kamikaze motors the other day to test drive an evo 7 but the one i saw advertised wasnt there for what ever reason, i should have rang first i guess. then i saw two gtrs forsale within my budget bog stock with low kilometers ,they were immaculate examples! and i realised that i still have a soft spot for skylines. which would you guys go for? i mean a 2001 evo 7 or a 96 gtr? both standard? i only do 6000 kilometers a year. seing how both cars have depreciated so much already which one would drop the least ammount of money now? cheers carl.

why in hell would you ask questions about a modified skyline on a ford forum??? sure as hell be a very one sided affair! this car is almost identical to my car which i recently sold. would and did destroy many modified xr6 turbo barges! oh look now im sounding biased and one sided. it must be cause im on a skyline forum lol! the only problem you have with these highly modified cars , which i found was when i trusted places to do work on my car which i didnt know was dodgy then you spend twice the money getting things fixed by a reputable workshop so hence buy a car that has already had someone elses sweat and tears put into it! i only sold mine because i needed a four door tamer more family orientated car. my 2 cents.

as for the quarter mile comparison,i was at calder park when they had a v8 supercar vs auscar vs r32 gtr down the quarter. and although i was a v8 fan back then therefore my memory is only vivid the gtr puller 10.8 and the v8 group a pulled 11.8 obviously they were all wearing racing slick tyres whith very little side wall give and the cars were all set up fot circuit not quarter mile. so probably a little unfair to compare. this was in the very early nineties ,might of been the old easter nats before sandown correct me if im wrong.

yeah i agree , anyone that has $100k plus to sink into a car plus the $65k that leewah probably paid for this baby a few years back, would definately in my book not be short of a quid! therefore rediculous offers like that, he'd probably just keep it! cleanest most powerful r33 gtr in oz i say and if i had the money id buy it for $60k ! worth the money all day!!!

i run a link ecu on my rb25det. running 346 rwkws on 24psi. no issues with cold start,idles like stock. fuel economy 15litres/100klms. i highly recommend it ! my was tuned at electronic automotive epping in melbourne.

i think in a word ; traction lol! when i bought this car back in 2000, i was 29 years old and single. now iam 36 years old ,married with 2 children and a mortgage. ive spent too much money on it to watch it depreciate anymore than it has already has. i still like rice burners but i need something with 4 doors ,half the power and twice the grip! lol! i look funny pulling up at kindergarten picking up and dropping of my son when the wifes got the patrol. i get alot of strange looks from other parents. cars f**king loud! my neighbours must hate me... i hope i can sell this thing soon. i think the way its going , if it takes too long i will be getting the evo9 instead. all the best with the sale of your beast sinistagtst!
