  1. i was browseing the various turbo sites on the internet the other day and came across the gt25 garrett turbo with internal wastegate, not hks. the specs are as follows: 440hp or 500hp turbine, .70 comp cover , 4inch bellmouth inlet and .86 exhaust. apparently bolts onto t28 or to3 flange. my question is , does anyone know of this turbo or is running one and if so whats the power and response like? ease of fitment? compared to high flow T03?
  2. thanx for the replies. i actually forgot to add that iam already running bosche motorsport 044 fuel pump. has anyone tried removing the wire mesh in the airflow meter for a result? i figure even though i no longer need it i will retain it for roadworthy reasons butswitched off, seeing im using map sensor with the link.
  3. my mods are as follows: st1 450hp gcg turbo, running 1.2 bar. link ecu, malpassi rising rate regulator. gtr front mount intercooler utilising stock 2.5 inch pipes to inlet manifold. 3inch exhaust straight through to barrel style muffler with 3 inch inlet and 4.5 inch tip. running standard dump pipe, cat. uni filter pod. ive still got air flow meter connected even though using map sensor link computer. i originally wanted 225 rwkws plus for mid to high 12s but since realised 240rwkws plus is more the ball park for this result? i dont mind upgrading turbo if need be , but would like to develop current package to maximum potential and seeing how she drives before embarking on any upgrades. currently i only drive the car on country roads and it is not my main mode of transport but i couldnt live with any combination that doesnt spool up by 3500rpm? thanx for any imput. this is the best forum ive been on so far!!!
  4. thanx for the information, youve answered my question and basically confirmed to me that its not my turbo holding me back! and although i dont think i mentioned that iam still running my standard cat , iam. ive had fast fit exhausts here in dandenong melbourne fit my 3 inch exhaust and i didnt realise at the time that even though the front pipe is 3 inch, that the dump pipe is still stock. also they seemed to think that the difference between the stock cat and 3 inch was barley a few kilowatts! i think i will definately be upgrading to 3 inch cat and split dump pipe asap! any ideas if changing cams or porting my head with this turbo substatiate a worthwhile gain or is this practise more for the bigger boys running their 600hp garret turbos? whats the most do you think that i might able to get out of this set up? or would i be better of upgrading gcg st1 450hp turbo for a st2 500hp gcg turbo if iam wanting anymore than 220 plus rwkws? as you can see iam still green , ive want to absorbed as much info as i can before do anymore to this car.
  5. looking at upgrading to either a garret gt25r or a gt30, both turbos specs as follows: 500hp compressor, .86 a/r exhaust , .70 comp cover with 4inch bell mouth . one has internal wastegate the other has external wastegate. my question is does anyone have one of these bolted to there rb25 and how much power do you have at the treads? when does it reach full boost? will be using appropriate support systems for fuel / exhaust etc. my goal is for quick street car, that will go to the drags once in a blue moon and to drive to work and back on country roads. ps. like everybody else on this forum would like to pull high to mid twelves!!! would greatly appreciate any feed back and i will let you all know of my progress, thanx.
  6. i thinking maybe the dyno reads a little low perhaps, because on the street the car accelerates quite hard coming on to full boost by about 3200rpm and violently spins my 245s in second gear roll outs!!!
  7. ive got a gcg stage 1 turbo, and im not making anywhere near the kind of power sydney kids skylines examples. my rb25det is only pulling 204rwkws at 1.2bar, although iam still running the standard dump pipe . my question is: will adding a split 3inch dump pipe make me an additional 15-20 rwkws? apart from this midrange torque is awesome!!
  8. does anyone know of anyone who is running a turbo with internal wastegate with better than 230rwkws, with fullboost at no higer than 3500rpm. if so would love to knoe make and model e.t.c.?
  9. it all comes down to how long you want to hold onto the car. if i was to spend my money all over again, id go the gtr. dont get me wrong i love my gts-t but i cant help but think now how id rather be stuck with the gtr.
  10. have you had the car dynoed? and if so what figures did you get? rear wheel kws?
  11. im currently running a t3/t4 gcg 450hp highflow turbo, 17psi boost, gtr front mount intercooler. link ecu, bosch 044 fuel pump and malpassi regulator. 3 inch exhaust. currently power output is 204 rwkws at 6300rpm, and 140rwkws at 7psi 6600rpm. iam running stock cams and stock cast dump pipe. any suggestions for extracting more power?
