What radiator will best fit in a MR30?
jrh001 replied to Kelman's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
Hi, I've got an MR30 radiator from a manual sedan. In Melb. Radiator has been stored for a few years, but looks to be OK. PM if you're interested. (I also have some other spares, no longer have the car.) -

Hi, I'm not sure where you're located. Imlachs in Centre Rd Springvale have an R30 on their "self-serve" vehicles list. I haven't been there for a while so don't know what's left/taken. JH -
Hi Dennis. Found one yet?

A related question... I'm replacing R30 sway bar bushings, installing blue poly bushes (same as Whiteline above). Manual says torque to 20-29NM but I'm nowhere near that setting, the nut is wound up a long way and everything seats well. The previous set of red bushes chopped out after a while. The blue poly is very hard, should the torque be less? JohnH

Try searching http://www.ozdat.com, there are links to service manuals for various Datsun models. JH

Just wondering... where did you get a new ignition module? I thought they'd be difficult to find. JH

Hi Liam, (Seems like all the experts are busy at the moment.) I'm not sure I understand the problem, possibly confused by the headline saying "not turning over". The engine will crank but not fire, is that right? And you've replaced the coil, or was it the ignition module (on the side of the distributor)? Does it have spark now? Have you had a look inside the dizzy, rotor OK, cap OK, no excessive play in the shaft, etc... JH

Okay - Who's Going Down To Dandy?
jrh001 replied to Union76's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
Hmmm... got there about 1pm and the display was emptying fast. Maybe I misunderstood something. The printed poster didn't have any times on it. Website said 9am to 11am for competitors, which I assumed was setting up time. Oh well. JohnH -
Spotted: Classic Lines For Sale

I spotted this rare MR30 for sale, good original condition and would like to go to a good home: http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/nissan-skyline-1983-11856834 There's also a video: Lots of spares and advertised price is negotiable. JohnH -
Hi Dennis, Derby is just down the road. If all goes to plan I'll be there in March. I'll PM you my number. I've attached a pic of me driving the Falcon up the Lottah Rd to the Blue Tier (and fixing the road on the way!) You'd have no problem in a 4WD, Hi Mike, Too many vehicles to take over: two cars and one motorbike. You might recognise this stretch of road: We should get back to the topic now: LPG and R30 hatch. 4 sp auto.

The fresh fruit and veg sniffer dog might discover an illegal consignment of oranges and bananas in my boogie board bag. Great place Tas. The town where I'm going only has one commercial establishment and they sell all kinds of beer (and cider), http://www.weldborough.com.au/new/ JH

Hi Mike If you're interested in an MR30 sedan, let me know. Series 1, 256000km, auto (3 speed though). Good condition, well looked after, with lots of spares. Spares include spare L24 engine (done 170000k,), two spare auto trans (3sp and 4sp), VL drive shaft and cross member for 4sp auto, struts, springs, brake disks, calipers, rear drums, set of injectors, efi relays, switches, starter motor, aircon compressor, oil cooler, radiator, full engine gasket set, water pump, alternator, speedo cable, two or three distributors, fuel pump. Almost enough to keep it running forever. It's currently on club reg. Should pass RWC. Only doubt is repaired chip in windscreen however it passed before in same condition. I'm moving interstate (overseas actually, Tasmania) and would like to sell the lot. Price $1800 firm. Also have extractors for it (but they're only for sale if Mario doesn't want them) plus a nifty new engine trolley from Rods & Relics. Extractors and trolley would be extra. JohnH

Hi Drew. First step is to get an invoice from the Auto Elec showing parts, prices and labour costs. See if it looks reasonable. Also get one from radiator place. JH
