  1. Just wondering.... is it a light green hatch? I saw one which fits the description on eBay or in the Trading Post last year . It had done a fair number of kms. What is a "Fresh 2.4EFI''? cheers, JH
  2. Hi, Apologies for a non-Skyline question.... Trying to help a 20yo with chronic asthma. We figure that parts of Tassie would have clean air although I've read that there's a fair amount of pollution in some places. Do you have any suggestions about where or where not to live if looking for clean air. So far (and just guessing), we thought that somewhere south of Hobart would be good (but maybe too remote), or East Coast around St Helens perhaps? What about places like Stanley? Not worried about cool or cold temperatures, the recent heat and humidity in Melbourne haven't helped. Thanks in advance, JohnH
  3. Not too bad, $450 short. Without spending too much, you could fix some of the 'not working' items: I'm not sure that more engine and suspension mods will help, buyers may prefer a more 'original' car. Good luck, JohnH
  4. Hi Harvo, Looks like a scam to me, don't send them anything. Someone 'local' will turn up when the time and price is right. I thought the eBay final auction price wasn't too bad. One of the bidders was also bidding on the R30 coupe. JH
  5. This model is on eBay too: http://cgi.ebay.com....em=320640225885 1/1 scale JH
  6. Hi, Found this link which may be of use: http://datsun1000.com/Models.asp It has the basic specs and can be used to find out which other models have the same engine and transmission. (Reason I found it was that a Datsun 200B auto trans is available free and I wondered if it was the same as R30, ans = no) JohnH
  7. Hey Mario, Great find! It looks in pretty good condition, nice and straight. The coupes can't be that rare after all. How and where did you find it? JohnH
  8. Hi, You could also try the R31 forum, http://motamota.r31skylineclub.com/index.php JH
  9. Local wreckers price is $130 JohnH
  10. Thanks, The engine was out of a running car - my fault when I bought it because I didn't notice the broken stud. The L24E only has two studs, one at each end of the engine, the rest is held in by bolts (all came out no drama). Hoping that someone knows of a good remover kit. JH
  11. Can anyone recommend a decent stud removing toolkit? I've tried Ezi-outs (actually an equivalent sold at Bunnings). An exhaust manifold stud has broken off below the surface. I can drill it easily but the remover just won't bite. (Engine is 25+ years old.) JohnH
  12. Lucky me... got to see the car and meet the owner. I never know who's who at these events but the guy polishing a speck of dust off the windscreen just had to be the owner. Amazing attention to detail and presentation on this car, I hope Mario won a prize for it. JohnH
  13. I pointed my camera the other way. Personal favourite, 1978 C210. Pleased to meet you Mario. JohnH
  14. eBay page still has pics: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...em=280580434758 JH
  15. Will any of these cars be at the SAU Vic Show n Shine at Docklands this Sunday? JH
  16. Excellent prediction, final price $4051. And the new owner is ??? JH
  17. Very weird auction, the price is now $2425 which is below the $2500 you bid up to. A higher bidder retracted on the grounds that the 'description changed' and it looks like the price wound back to below the reserve. Have you seen the car in person? In the new pics it looks like there's rust in the gutter near the antenna. Is it correct that these engines aren't suited to unleaded fuel? I thought they were basically the same as the R30 engine. JH
  18. Progress update: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Wr...-N-t341055.html JH
  19. Hi, On an AU Falcon, there's a procedure to follow after an ECU reset: - When power is re-connected, start car and idle in this sequence - 2 minutes idling with the transmission in drive and A/C on. - 2 minutes idling with the transmission in drive and A/C off. - 2 minutes idling with the transmission in neutral and A/C on. - 2 minutes idling with the transmission in neutral and A/C off. - Drive the car on the road, for at least 5 minutes under variable throttle positions. Do Skyline's have a similar procedure? JH

  21. It'll be interesting to watch. Just checked the location, just over the border near Mildura. Nice dry climate. JH
  22. With 6 days to go, I don't know why everyone is bidding so early... The video provides a reasonable idea of the condition of the car - much better than a few photos. JH
  23. Hi, Thanks for the useful write-up. Sounds like a messy job though, is there another way to drain fluid before removing the pan? This eBay seller has VL service kits: http://myworld.ebay.com.au/rossb7/ ($24.50 + $12.00 postage) What does Repco sell them for? cheers, JohnH
  24. This link to show and shine pics was posted on ozdat:http://nissanman.shutterfly.com/1443 JH
  25. Won't be there so looking forward to seeing some photos. (Don't forget pics of the owners as well as their cars.) JH
