With the postponement of Drift NSW, we have the track booked so we would be crazy not to use it to give you guys one last Friday Night on our beloved Drift Land! Since opening up as the new and improved Project D Drift School at the beginning of this year, its popularity has absolutely exploded and its new outstanding reputation just keeps on growing day by day. We are pleased to announce the appointment of our new Instructors Rob Arbolino (2007 Super Drift Champion) and Dan Mackie who is coming off a 4th place finish at the Drift Australia Finale from at Oran Park. Project D is also proud to announce the appointment of Logistics Manager, Chris ‘Slim’ Green. Project D Drift School is the ONLY dedicated Drift School in Australia. With, 7 Hand chosen Professional Drift School Instructors from both DA & SD, who each compete Nationally themselves, 4 purpose built school cars, a dedicated logistics manager, as well as a full time general manager, Amy Boatwright who is also Series Manager of the Drift Australia Series, heaps of available days (4 just in January alone, and 1-2 each month after that) and a huge range of options to cater to and suit people of all demographics, and locations as Project D Drift School attracts students both Nation Wide and Internationally as well. These options include Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 as well as Friday Night Classes which we are really excited about. ^^^ This is Oran Park North Circuit (Drift Land) - For those who haven't been there. Fernando will be changing the course through out the day to keep it interesting and challenging for those who want to step it up. I will be capping entries at 35, just to make sure all Drivers get as much track time as possible. Drivers will need to get there between 8-8.30am to sign on and have their cars scrutineered. We will wrap the day up at about 4.00pm and present the awards and prizes.

We will also be dedicating half of the track time to Circuit so both Drifters and Circuit drivers can make the most of the day! There will be a minimum of 3 layouts on the square section throughout the day as well as a Slalam layout (Fish Tail layout) down straight section of the Skid Pan all day. Both the Square and Straight sections will be running at the same time through out the day so as soon as you come off the Square section you can move directly onto the Straight (and visa versa). The Project D Drift School Instructors will be there to give you and tips and advice you may need on the day. They are also happy to jump in the car with you if you need that extra bit of help. Just before the conclusion of the day we will hold a presentation where the 3 Project D Drift Club Awards will be presented for the day. These awards include ‘Best Club Attitude’, ‘Most Improved’ (On they day) and ‘Most Entertaining’. The winner of each Award will get a Project D Prize Pack, which includes 5L of Castrol Oil, a Castrol Promotional Package and a SABER Discount Voucher for BBM Motorsports. The Project D Team are excited to implement an improved format for the Drift Club days. These days are predominantly about helping out the 'new comers' to the motor sport. Not only do we supply open track time and set up several different track layouts which will increase in difficulty and skill level throughout the day, we also have several of our Project D Drift School instructors (Fernando Wiehrl, Chris Easton, Luke Murphy, Andrew Hawkins and Jay Abbott) who will be on hand at each club day to give you advice not only from the side of the track but they will also be available to jump in the passenger seat and give you tips on how to improve your techniques. "Being a club member and driver for many years in the drift scene, I saw a huge gap between the more experienced drivers and the beginners at many track days I attended. I noticed that a lot of the new comers felt very intimidated by the more advanced drivers and had no real chance of improving their skills and in turn would give up as they felt they didn't really belong. I came on board with Project D because I wanted to encourage an environment where new drivers can be guided in a safe, comfortable and enjoyable situation and build their own skills at their own pace." – Fernando Wiehrl, Project D Director At present Project D will be running one club day and one school day per month and plan to increase this to even more to supply more track time for the members. Fernando and some of the Project D Team attended the last Project D Drift Club day, which we saw as a great success and gave us a chance to be introduced to the club and some of the current members.
