Hi, I have a r33 gts-t s2 with 86,000k and I want to change the timing belt. When I bought the car it had the drive belts changed but I cant be sure the timing belt was done so i would rather change it (it still has the factory 100,000 silver sticker. anyway... I was recommended the dayco timing belt kits with tentioners and seals on ebay. these sell for $219. bargain! Now what I need is a recommended shop in the sout eastern suburbs of melbourne that people with experience can recommend. i am fussy about my cars and want someone who will do the right thing and look after my car. so would be keen to hear who people can recommend and what sought of prices i can expect to pay if they supply and fit and just for the labour. feel free to PM me if you dont want to disclose in public for any reason thanks in advance SAU members!

ok I have some info here after ringing nissan and need some conformation: I was told I MUST replace these things and these would be the prices... my questions are these resonable prices and do I have to replace all of these? Timing Belt - $105 +GST Timing Belt Tensioner - $118 +GST Idler Pulley - $300 +GST Cam seals - $21 each +GST dos this sound reasonable and do I need to replace all these? I would like to go genuine but thats alot of money if these dayco or gates ones are good quality also PS they quoted me $214 +GST for an oxygen sensor.. is this over the top and should i go an NGK for half the price or are they no where near as good? thanks! -

Hi, I have bought myself an R33 gts-t with 86,000ks on the clock. I was tol although its early it would be a good idea to change the timing belt and tentioner. Is this generally recommended or should I wait for the 100,000? My question is do people have a brand they recommend over another? (ie gates racing?) I want to do the tentioner as well, can you buy these as a kit? if so where do i get them from and how much should i expect to pay? What should i expect to pay to have one installed? (just so i dont get ripped off) thanks SAU members!

I am selling my Subwoofer and Amplifier Combo as I have bought a new car with a stereo already installed. They are mounted together and look really good. The pair are excellent quality and give amazing, crisp base, I have friends who are supprised how good it is even compared to their twin systems. The subwoofer is a pioneer with a tuned box, 12 inch sub rated to 800W, the box has gold terminals and extra inerbond installed. The amp is an 'award winning!' Response amplifier, Will produce 500WRMS at 4ohm and truly is an excellent unit! It also has all gold terminals. This sale includes 4 gauge power wire, gold RCA leads, Earth lead etc etc... Great unit at a great price, ready to be installed! $299 ono Contact Jason on 0431 286 689 (sms/call) or [email protected] Item is located in SE Melbourne

Hi, I have just bought myself a really clean low millage r33 gts-t. The car is great but i need to fix two things... 1. the passenger side rear indicator is leaking (condensation inside the lense), is this just a matter of remove, silicone and reseal? 2. the big problem! my boot leaks, it has been raining alot in melb lately but i noticed a wet patch on the carpet the other day and lifted the carpet to find the wheel well full of water! i have done a search and found this is common, where is it likely to be comming from and how do i seal it and stop before it destroys my boot with rust! thank you in advance for your replies! Jason

R33 Gts-t Intercooler And Intake Mods
TUF250 replied to TUF250's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
ok well i think the three inch dump pipe would be worth while as long as its legal. with these blitz type coolers that use the std pipes, does the horns or air con electric fan have to be removed? not alot of room in there? -
hi all I have a 33 gts-t with 86000 on the clock and would like to change the gearbox oil and diff oil not because there is anything wrong but because I like to change all the oils when I get a new car. I was going to get the synthetic nulon 75w85 ($29.99 per liter) but everyone here recommends vmx80 which is much cheaper. castrol recommend vmx-m 75w85 or vmx80... someone said nissan run vmx80- from the factory is this true? i dont want to run a mineral if there is syn in there already thats all. also the castrol website says 2.8 liters... is this wrong is it infact 3.8 - 4? can you overfill it? in relation to diff the oil manufacturers recommond hypoil oil. I think I will run Nulon LSD 90 as it covers lsd and non-lsd types. what do people think of the 90 weight? good choice? things like 85w140s would be too thick surely? now i thought that in stead of using the expensive synthetics at $30 a litre, i would use quality mineral and add the nulon G70 into the box and diff which everyone seems to rave about, this will work out much cheaper. how does this sound? thanks Jason
