i was told by a police officer that in vic you can legally have ONE intake mod, either pod or cooler?
-
Hi, I have a near stock r33 gts-t manual (cat back and pod only). I want to keep it streetable, legal (im in VIC) and very responsive so was planning on doing a CAI, larger intercooler, dump pipe and high flow cat to finish the exhaust then a touch more boost and a tune. Now I know these cars get pulled over all the time (i got pulled over for a randowm check 40mins after buying it!) so i want to keep it very legal... Intake wise I have read that only one intake mod is allowed... The car had the airbox removed and a pod put in its place which is breathing in hot air.... what options do I have here? only to put the airbox back in and try and make a pod or high flow panel fit in it? I have thought about a cold air duct to the pod with a shield but my problem is that i cant find any where for the pod to get cold air form the front of the car... the area near the airbox is very dealed form ambient air? what have people done in this area? pics would be great! might have to go back to the stock airbox i think... I must admit i still like the induction noise it has (i know i will get over it eventually) do you still get this sound with a pod or high flow panel in the airbox with snorkle? also in regard to intercoolers, i would really like to use the standard holes in the sheet metal and not cut new holes as the car is extreamly pristine and i want to keep everything reversable, it also has twin airbags which i heard means you cant cut the metal legally. can you get a kit that has a large front mount that runs the piping through the two standard holes and sues the standard engine bay piping? or is there a better option? how is the GTR piping and cooler run, does it use those holes? any thoughts brands or experiences would be great! i notice there is not aot of room in the front (its a series 2 gts-t0 will i have to remove that thermo fan? thanks!

Hi, I have an R33 GTS-T in immaculate condition with the stock 16s. I would like to change them for something a little bigger and that are not quite so plain. Does anyone have a pick of a silver 33 with R34 gt-t wheels on it? also someone said that late model fords ahve the same offset as 33s and their wheels can be used is this true? thanks!

deep socket / spark plug socket (has the rubber boot inside) well if they are the only two sizes i will push on thanks
-
I bought myself a clean 86,000k r33 gts-t and want to change the plugs. I am using the recommended NGK Platinums (PFR5G-11 from memory) Anyway, I have pulled the intake piping off, coil cover off, coils out and wanted to know what size the factory plus are? I slid my 16mm (5/16 i think it equates to) onto the new plugs and it fit perfect. It feels a little loose on the plugs that are in there and they seem to be in tight to I want to make sure this is the right size before I go pushing harder any thoughts would be great thanks!

Hi folks, I have been given a simota filter to put into my r33 gts-t, it currently has a cheap mushroom that i want to get rid of as i know they are no good for filtration. The simota has been removed from its wrapping but never used. It seems dry, are these a dry filter or do they need to be oiled? if so can yuo use K&N oil? also how do these rate for filtration compared with say your K&Ns etc, i know it wont be as good as a paper filter

thanks guys ill go with the syn then!

Hi folks. I have just got myself a really clean low millage r33 gts-t manual I always change all the fluid when I buy a car and use synthetic where possible. I have been reading through catrol/nulon sites etc and have written down the recommended syn oils for the engine, gearbox which I will buy this weekend. The confussing thing is the diff. I know these are an LSD and they are bolted into a performance car which screams for synthetic LSD oil.. however all the websites recommend a non LSD mineral oil around the 75W-90 range... what are peoples thoughts on this? should I not be using an LSD oil? and why not recommend a mineral? I was thinking a 85W90 full synthetic LSD oil? really keen to get peoples insite on this thanks!

Hi all, I have just bought myself a 40th anniversary M spec skyline, it is an immaculate example. As someone who is new to skylines I was wondering what was different about it as an 'M - Spec' and what if anything does it being a 40th anniversary mean/give you other than the badge? thanks!

ok that sounds great. so should the belt go another 14,000 until the 100,000? or is it recommended to change it early given the cars/belts physical age? any idea on what it being an 'm-spec' or '40 anniversary edition' means? -
Buying A Skyline With Suspect Wound Back Ks

sorry mate forgot to add that, its a 1997 series 2 r33 manual gts-t well the aircon is very cold so thats a good sign. the sticker on the timing cover is silver, about 5-6cm wide by 2cm tall. it is printed and has soem japenese writing and 100,000 printed on it. this means that maybe the car does have genuine ks? (that is if this is a sticker to guide you on when to do the belt? the car is otherwise immaculate! honestly paint, interior, driveline... perfect so maybe it is the case. so basically this sticker means its due at 100? is it safe to leave it to 100 or should it be done early? (note it has 86 onthe clock at the moment) also it is a 40th anniversary M- spec. does anyone know what makes and m spec or 40th ann. edition different to the rest? thanks in advance!! -
Hi folks, I am looking at buying this skyline which I believe has been wound back in ks. It is immaculate, beautiful paint, interior, had a machanic check it over inc comp test and its come up great. the car has 86,500 on the clock and drives as if it does (no logbooks of course!) on the timing cover it has a silver sticker on the timing cover that says 100,000ks with some japenese writing, does this mean the timing belt was done at 100 or due at 100? the car is auction grade 4. what sort of milage do these things get wound back when imported? 10,000, 20,000 or as much as 100,000? i will buy it based on its condition, everything is great but im trying to work out weather it needs a timing belt or not? ps im looking to do a full service, are latinum ngks the go? what about the nulon 10w40 synthetic oil with a drift filter? excuse the silly question about servicing but have always been a falcon man so still new to the lines! thanks!

what do people think about the full sythetic nulon 10w40 it reads up well?
