  1. by the way just checked the fault codes by bridging the plug under the dash and got an error 55 which is 'system pass'
  2. in melbourne but will pay for postage if req
  3. Hi all, I have an actuator for sale off of an r32 gts-t. It is in perfect working order. This will bolt straight onto your r33 or r34 gts-t and will run between 10 and 12psi. No boost spikes like the cheap boost controllers bu the BEST BENIFIT is that it looks the same as your standard solenoid and will not attract any police attention if you are checked! Not in a rush to sell it, but they are getting harder and harder to come by in this condition. Happy to post at your expense otherwise it can be picked up from SE suburbs in melbourne. Looking for around $80 but open to offers Jason 0431 286 689 [email protected]
  4. looks like the fault may have re-appeared. getting it diagnosed but will probably be in teh market for an afm again so let me know what you have.
  5. Hi all, I have an R33 S2 GTST manual wit low ks in good condition. always serviced and only mods are a turbo back exhaust, bmc filter in std airbox and an r34 gt-t intercooler. Right, now the car has a intermittant fault and I cant pick what it is. It used to do the typicall near stall issue where the rpm would drop then bounce up then drop again. I cleaned the aac valve as per the diy thread and it was fixed! great! After a while it started doing something similar and i noticed a vac drop on my boost gauge, the car did the same thing, felt gutless and smelt of fuel. I found a vac leak which fixed that problem. great! now the damn thing has come back again but its very intermittant. Somedays it will be completely fine. sometimes it will play up (eg of the fault, slow to the lights push the clutch in and the rpm will drop almost to 0, bounce up high and then slowly settle, when I try and take off it will hesitate and then settle. now whats weird is i cleaned my afm the other day and it went away.) NOTE when it happens the vac reads lower on the gauge but it goes back to normal idle reading when this problem dissappears. After a while it did it again and the cleaning the afm didnt seem to fix it. i reset the computer and it went back to normal and after a few weeks it happened again... I dont get it?? Any ideas? (note. car has new plugs, coils are in good nick, it dosnt misfire, new fuel pump and filter, only run 98 etc etc) Any ideas appreciated! Thanks
  6. Only selling because I have put the airbox back in and have bought a high flow panel filter for that. Ill dont have an actual pic but it is in brand new condition inc box It is this filter though as show in the pic below and is in the same condition but includes the afm adaptor if required. nothing else required but bolt onto the afm
  7. Hi all. I am selling my K&N Pod Filter. Also have the AFm adaptor. This is all that is requried to put a pod on your skyline. The pos is almost new. Would be lucky to have travelled 1500km. I still have the box, warrenty card, stickers and a receipt to prove how new it is. It is the maximum size you can fit in the engine bay and has a polished silver top. Part No. KNRR-3003 Makes a great induction noise and plenty more airflow. Very happy to post them. Can be picked up from SE melbourne. Will seperate. RRP for the filter is $119 (what I paid) and the AFM adaptor was $19.99 so $140 total Will sell for $80 the lot (will sperate)
  8. yes its very nice to having it running at its best again
  9. thatnks guys, in that case I wont worry about the mod just yet. Cheers!
  10. I actually ahd one of those. didnt like the feel of it. Prefer the std one but was just hoping I could get something similar that was a little shorter
  11. generally does the intake pipe suck closed on a standard r33 with standard boost? also I have found these for anyone interested. Ultimate in non turbulent airflow http://cgi.ebay.com.au/SILICONE-INDUCTION-...=item41524afc24
  12. well the end result was a vac leak, heard a hissing noise and followed it (must have gotten worse no was now audiable) and found it! replaced the hose and she is back to her normal self again!
  13. really? thats interesting. might have to make a trip tot he wreckers
  14. Hi all, I was wondering if the thread on the shifter of an r33 s2 is the same as any other cars? otehr nissans, fords, toyotas etc? not a big fan of the standard knob and thought I might be able to get a shorter one from another car to shorten the shift length slightly? cheers Jason
  15. ill get some. basically just some folded aluminium which mounts with the same screws that hold the snorkle to the rad support. it bents down with a curve behind the grill so it scoops incomming air up into the snorkle. dont know how much it helps but it certainly cant hurt!
  16. Hi all, Givent the amount of airbox vs pod threads on here I thought I might share my experience. My car is no power house, it is a S2 r33 gts-t with a turbo back exhaust, r34 gt-t intercooler and until now a K&N pod. The reason I love this car is its responsiveness which is why I have kept the mods to a minimum. I enjoy its peaky style compared to my old pushrod v8. Now I have finally sourced an airbox, bought myself a BMC filter and installed it. I also made a scoop which ducts air from behind the grill into the snorkle (figured it might be worth a few kw at road speed?) Now I have noticed lately as the weather has warmed up that my car has become less responsive when leaving the lights (fast or slow) no doubt due to the fact that the pod/engine bay had heat soaked while sitting still. I also noticed when cruising slowly that if you put your foot down (rolling start) that it was not performing that well and even hesitated sometimes. So I have finally sourced all these parts and put them in, what a difference!! The car is sooooo much more responsive now, I dont think it makes any more peak power but in any circumstance when you accelerate, standing still or in gear its better! the car also dosnt hesitate anymore. This was probably the best 'mod' I have done to the car and will be a great thing next time/if I get pulled over Anyone 'deciding' which way to go with the pod vs airbox debate should read this carefully before selling their airbox I think to make sure I wasnt making the improvemtn up in my head I gave dad the keys (he is a car nut himself) and even leaving the court he noticed a difference, once I told him what I had done he was quite shocked it was so difference from just that mod. airbox and high flow filter FTW!
  17. I have adjusted them so they sit at the same point on the road where my original ones did. yeah might cut the cap and use the rubber grommet, thanks guys
  18. AHA! thats what that rubber plug is for! It wasnt explained in the instructions, that makes perfect sence now. I will do that next week. Thanks for that! In reference to my headlights I have used the restore kit and my lenses are in great, near new looking condition. The reflaectors appear in very good condition and mine is a genuine low k one aust owner car which prob helps. I only bought HIDs because i like the look and do a bit of night driving so the extra light helps thanks guys!
  19. Hi all. I just bought some HIDs for my r33 skyline. They are great, really pleased. but... the new wiring for the new globes means that I cannot get the caps back on the headlights as the new wiring will be squashed. really didnt want to hack up the wire so I can return it to stock if i have to. needs the caps because i dont want dust or water in there. any good ideas from people who have done this before? pics would be awesome thanks
  20. Hi all, was talking gearboxes with some friends over the weekend and it raised a question. Do the r33 gtst boxes have 'double synchros'? I was under the impression that reverse didnt have a synchro and that they had shot peened gears in 1st 2nd and 3rd but thats all i know purely for my own information, so any info would be interesting to hear
  21. Hi all, Have been considering cutting a little off of the stick in my r33 gtst. I am not keen on the short shifter kits as they seem to increase the wear on the synchros. I am just keen to have the stick a little shorter. quite happy with the factory throw. I am using the factory gear knob as i like the factory look. Wondering how much people have cut off and still been able to use the factory knob. did you have to re thread it? any pics would be great thanks
  22. interesting! thanks for the pics. so what would semi closed be? is that gap filled by the water system? or just air? pros and cons of each?
  23. Just out of my own interest can someone explain what it means when someone says its an 'open' 'closed' or 'semi closed' block? very curious thats all
  24. Hi all, I had some success in removing some idle problems with my old XR8 by installing a grounding kit. basically making a few heavy duty earth straps. This was a common fix for a common problem in this particular car. Can the same thing be said for R33 rb25dets? is there anything to be gained from the kit or are they earthed well from the factory? I had an extra earth strap put in when Ihad the fuel pump changed. Thanks
