  1. thanks mate cheers!
  2. rb20det in a rolla, thats awesome. project thread would be interesting
  3. does the rb25det have two knock sensors? where are they? would mind checking as I have a similar fault in mine
  4. where is the knock sensor on the rb25?
  5. so the walbro pumps are a better direct fit than the bosch ones? my car will only be making a little power above stock (10psi and supporting mods) so I dont need anything extreme. How do the two compare price wise?
  6. yeah aftermarket gauge in psi. changing the plugs to coppers with 0.8mm gap and 6 heat range this week. checked coils at night, no missfire at all
  7. Just to add my experience to this, maybe it will help someone or someone can help me. I have an R33 manual. - 3inch belmouth dump pipe, xforce cat (dont know how old it is?), 3inch stainless sytem - Pod filter - R34 SMIC (cleaned it out as well as the piping. My car has developed a bit of a flat spot on really cold nights (worse with fog) so its probably getting to R&R point. Interestingly my boost gauge (psi) only reads 7max! according to everyone i should be getting more than that? thoughts?
  8. Hi all, I was reading on another forums about the subaru upper cylinder cleaner. They spoke very highy of the stuff. wanted to know peoples thoughts on using it and if its a waste of time on an rb25det?
  9. are the walbros a direct factory replacement? where can you get a genuine one from? be interesting to see how they compare price wise with the bosch 040s for those of us with stockish rb25dets
  10. well for the sake of $25 i bought some bcrp6es-11's. i will gap them down to 0.9 and see what happens. beats the heat range 5, 1.1 gap iridiums that are in there anyway, scared of detonation with the curent heat rating
  11. so general concensus is that 0.8 gap will help my flat spot? might give it a shot, hope its not R&R. mgiht also change my airflow meter for a second hand one too cheers
  12. thanks guys, ended up pulling that middle muffler out, quite happy now, only a touch louder and has a slightly deeper note, still very quiet highly doubt it will attract any more attention. note. I am selling that straight through 3inch stainless muffler if anyone is interested in a high flow 'quiet' muffler
  13. want this stuff gone so make me an offer
  14. How old are they. I have a series 2 r33 with perfect coils, looking to upgrade as Im about to increase boost. im in melbourne though
  15. ah ok, i thought maybe the solenoid was to restrict it to 5 from 7. ah well there goes that idea. will keep shopping for a 10psi r32 one. Any diagrams going around to disconnect it once i get the 32 one?
  16. Does the r33 have a 5 psi or 7psi actuator stock? If its 7 then why not just remove all the solenoid pipework and have a constant 7psi? would that work? Does anyone have a diagram of what hoses go where and what can be removed if this would work? thanks
  17. Hi all, Im after an r32 gts-t actuator (10psi one) willing to pay for postage. Must be in excellent condition. Thanks Jason
  18. great replies thanks. I think I will invest in some new plugs and go from there. Pity because I only just bought my platinums... fell for the marketing... Thanks
  19. interesting graph, that certainly wouldnt be helping, wonder why they were so aggressive at that rpm range?
  20. interesting, the car didnt do it today but tonight the colder it god (to the point of fog) the worse it got. Its definately temp related. wonder if gapping plugs to less than 1.1 will fix it
  21. mine makes this sound too, the typical situation is lightish throttle in about third gear going up a small incline. Egnine is still only running vaccum (ie not boost) but there is some load on it, interestingly the sounds is not there on proper boost. Its quite loud, I origianlly thought it was the compressor touching the housing as its that sort of high pitched bearing sound/high speed metal contact but have since checked and no shaft play at all. This might help the diagnosis. interesting that you say a leaking turbo to manifold gasket, would this not get wqorst under full boost? Kenn to hear back on this one too
  22. Hi, Time to get rid of some of my gear thats taking up the small amount of shed space that I have. All of it is negotiable and can be posted at the buyers expense. Will do a better price for bulk buy. Pick up is South eastern suburns melbourne Jason 0431 286 689, [email protected] - R33 GTST Wheels, Very good condition. Good tyres. Plenty of tread 225 rear, 205 front (stock spec) $250ono - Stainless Steel Jap Muffler 3 inch Staight Through. Had a great note. Was part of a jasma approved system so not too loud. Excellent condition. $175 ono - Mild steel muffler, 2.25, chambered design, great for clearing defects. Only used for a short amnount of time. $50 - HKS style yellow mushroom filter. Barely used, came with my car. Great condition. $20ono - Standard R33 Intercooler, good condition, great for clearing defects $40ono - Standard R33 dump pipe and front pipe, good condition, great for clearing defects $50 the lot - Oxy sensor. Perfect working order. Replaced with new one (might be useful to diagnose a problem?) $10 Thanks
  23. probably less than 10 degrees each time, maybe as low as 5. hard to say eactly but faily cold. Yeah replaced it with a digital boost gauge. reads 7 under full noise.
  24. thanks for the replies. Ok would you be able to feel the vct change at 4700? definately no 'flick' of the tacho indicating broad minded personch slip, it is all very smooth, no pops, crrackles or anything odd. Just that 'flat spot' No problems in cruise. Not I have also replaced the O2 sensor as part of my service and cleaned out the AAC valve. I have considered the plugs, coils do seem fine and 9 times out of 10 there is not an issue. Didnt want to bring the gap down from 1.1 if I didnt have to but might be required
