  1. be keen to get peoples thoughts on this too. I recently serviced my gearbox and diff. Used the nulon LSD 90 and now it has a slight noise in the diff. Might replace it with the 85w140 but keen to hear what people have to say first
  2. will you sell the snorkle seperate?
  3. nice! very cheap too. Cant see you having any trouble selling this. Pay more than half that just for a standard second hand rb25
  4. I have for sale a HKS STYLE POD FILTER in new condition, removed from box but never used as I put the airbox back in instead. Yellow colour, perfect condition. Has 3inch rubber outlet so suits aftermarket pod filter adapters. Good upgrade. Can be picked up from Se Melbourne or post at your expense $25 ono Thanks Jason 0431286689
  5. hahahayeah fair enough, thats what i thought people would say.cheers
  6. Hey all, Just found this on ebay. wondering peoples thought and experiences for a stockish rb25 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Performance-Fuel-Pu...=item1c12706388 cheers
  7. another option? dont know how good they are. thoughts? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Performance-Fuel-Pu...=item1c12706388
  8. Hi guys just wanted to get a feel for how much oil people are using and how dark that oil is getting over a typical service interval (5000ks)? My car is a r33 gts-t which has 90k on it and gets driven daily. Using drift oil filters and nulon synthetic oil. Anyone with a similar car/combo would be keen to hear your experiences
  9. ok sounds good, i do notice its a little tappy at start. lifter noise, goes away when warm
  10. good info, thanks! must admit my knowledge on them is a bit limited. sounds like my next mod. cheers
  11. yeah this was something i had considered. The core seems to work well, even after a long drive the cool side is still ambient or cooler and the hot side is barely any warmer. So for my application, daily driver with the odd squirt in traffic it seems to work well. was just worried about summer thats all
  12. whats the silicone method? smear house grade silicone around what part of the coil? what are the first signs of missfire on a 25det with only breathing mods that runs std boost?
  13. glad I found this was about to start a new thread. So for a stockish r33 (as mentioned above, just breathing mods std boost) with this cause it to overfuel or use more fuel than the factory one? would the 040 be the best choice for a near stock car? also what sort of power could it support roughly?
  14. Hi all, Thought this might be an interesting thread. In my case I have an R33 with a turbo abck exhaust, std airbox with BMC panel filter and an R34 SMIC. I found this to be a good mod with my basic level of modifications adn allowed the car to rev more freely through the rev range and appeared to have a little more sting although not much. Now with my level of modification and standard boost which is where the car will stay for the short term I am not keen to put a FMIC in just yet. At some stage I will upgrade the turbo with all the supporting mods but that can happen as a package. This is really about a easy DIY mod at low cost. Now I used the r34 front duct on my S2 33 bumper with only minor triming required. I also cut every second 'slat' out of the exit in the wheel arch to stop hot air from banking up behind the core. I was wondering about the thermo fan option. Ie wiring an 8ish inch thermo fan on the the back of the coor or the inner gaurd area to force hot air out and increase flow through the core in traffic (thinking ahead for summer here) Would this make a significant difference? I imagine it would stop the traffic light heat soak, or at elast help. At high speeds would the fan rotation cause a backpressure in the core? making it harder for air to flow through? thoughts?
  15. yeah i knew they were still nylon compressors but wasnt sure about the bearing centre. I always thought they were thrust bearings but I read the other day they were BB hence why I wanted to check. Cheers
  16. thermostat maybe? I have heard those factory gauges are not the most reliable or your coolant temp sensor could be giving funny readings. Easy to check, CAREFULLY open the radiator once warmed up and use a thermometer (digital if possible) to test water temp
  17. was the rear strut brace a direct fit? what suburb do you live in/work in?
  18. I have been running the Nulon 10W40 "full synthetic" which I know is not a full synthetic. Seems to be ok. Have done 2500ks on it so far. want to change it early this time to flush the motor out as the oil was dirty when I bought it. What do people think of this oil? I can get it for $45 for 5lts so I bought it based partially on a good price Not I change the oil with filter (drift brand) at 5000 k or less and the car is daily driven (so it only gets a squirt now and then)
  19. ok thanks for the reply. what about the bearings?
  20. sorry to hijak but i dint want to start another thread. Is it just the exhaust housing that is larger on the r34 turbo? would this be a worth while mod for an R33 with just breathing mods? Also are the r33 and r34 turbos ball bearing or thrust bearing? thanks
  21. anyone else had experience with the HRP10 in there rb25dets?
  22. sorry to hijak but I just wanted some thoughts on my setup Currently have a S2 r33 with a turbo back 3inch exhaust, std airbox with BMC filter, R34 GT-T cooler and am about to do the 'free boost mod' to get 7-8psi through the whole rev range. Am I likely to suffer from R&R or will the std computer handle this ok? I would love to get a tune but thats not practical just yet
  23. i actually ment as a combination. By rev matching with the clutch it might all go in smoother and give me as much life out of this gearbox as possible
