  2. Gibbo did the guys at Nissan say there were any warranty implications about you not using their transmission fluid and diff oils?

I mentioned that I would be switching to Willall's fluids and while they were happy to put it in...............they said that i would breach my warranty as I was not using what Nissan specified

  3. Rather than start a new thread I will highjack yours Mark...sorry.

I had my 10k service done yesterday, I had it done a couple of thousand Km's early because I wanted to get them to change out the transmission fluid and diff fluid.

Here is the long and the short with a breakdown of costs:

    Total Service $499.50.

They replaced the standard trans and diff oil for me with Willall oils. $94.00

    10,000km service labour $94.00

    Engine Oil 6L $112.05

Here is the killer Replacement bolts for undertray $115.00 (Because I asked for the diff and trans oils to be done they had to drop the tray off and hence Nissan policy of replacing all Bolts.

Overall the $500 for the service is quite good, MacArthur Nissan at Campbelltown even picked my car up and dropped it back in the afternoon.

    Very happy with the service.

So the result of the service is as follows:

Willall Trand and Diff fliuds are awesome, after a number of track days and this car as my everyday driver I know how it used to be, I know when it would clunck etc. Now it is perfect, smooth changes, no clunking. People have said this before but I will reiterate, get these oils and even if you car is only got 500km on it, replace the oils with the Willall stuff.

The service also had a down side, my brake pads are shot, the bonding of the pad to the plate is breaking down, there are cracks in the pad and they need replacing. According to Nissan's policy I should also replace the disks, this is after 8,000km.

Anyhow I have new pads coming today and will have them fitted next week. Nissan claims that the track work with excessive heat has caused this, I call BS but gives me an excuse to buy the new pads.

Tyres are also fairly well shot, I will get them replaced next week with the Dunlops.

So there you go, summary of ownership costs after 8,000km are:

    Willall Fluids $1,000.00

    Nissan Service $500.00

    Brake Pads $478.00

    Tyres $2,600.00

    Total: $4,578.00

(Excludes Track adjustments and Mid pipe)

Thought others might find this useful when working out their servicing costs.

No problems did the quote for your tires come from the dealer.......... the boys at Von Bibra quoted me (Dunlops) about 900 each for the rears and high 7 low 8's for the fronts

    Cheers

  4. Hi All,

Had my 10k service done yesterday........... the guys at Von Bibra (Gold Coast) were excellent, had a good chat to me before and after they serviced the car. Total cost was $570 which i thought was OK.....

Phil (my service guy) did tell me that my front tires were shot (inside edge) and my backs were almost down the the legal makers as well as the inside edge was gone (I have done 1 track day). Overall I was very happy with the level of service and will continue to drive the 2 hours each way for my next service

    Cheers

  5. It looked like you were too-thats haulin :) the GTR looked amazingly stable all way thru cnrs 1 & 2 also & hammered down the back straight too

I was in Group C, Grey R32Gtst (RB20) with Gold wheels, managed to get a 1:04.7617 on sprint track which I'm pretty stoked with considering it was my 1st time at QR & running road rubber. :)

That's a pretty good time for your first effort at QR........... turns 1 and 2 can be pretty daunting first time out :blink: I know they were for me.

I am now seriously consdiering some track tires and I reckon i could get close to a 57 sec on the sprint track :):)

    Cheers

  6. Is anyone in Qld with one of these mid pipes willing to meet up to help me decide if this is the right product for me?

If you are around the Sunshine Coast at all give me a call and you can have a listen.

    Cheers

  7. It was awesome to see you flying round the Track today Mark- nice work.

My lil RB20 did surprise me, but not as much as yours did-what a car to watch & the sound at full noise is something spectacular, cant wait to see you put some track tyres on & what sort of times you pull then as I think that orange-ish evo maybe in trouble mate

Thanks Dude............. gotta say it was so much fun, as a matter of interest the best speed i hit at the end if the front straight was 214km's per hour. Which group were you in?

  8. Well......... had my first track day with the 35 today.

All I have had done is a wilall mid pipe everything else is stock (incld the tires :pirate: )

I sure hope the Dunlops are better becuase the Bridgestones did last real long before the died (3 laps of the Club Circuit).

The rest of the car preformed faultlessly..... the highest gearbox temp I saw was 120c, however we only did 5 flying laps at a time and each lap was around 60 seconds.

The only thing that I found a bit concerniing was how quickly the car wanted to get it's arse out on the exit from corners, that may be more of a tire issue I know but it still seemed a bit taily even when the tires were still OK.

In the end I did 60.004 seconds for the Clubman and a 63.451 seconds for the Sprint circuit. The quickest was an Evo 8 he did a 54.5 on the Clubman and a 57ish for the circuit. However, he was making 440KW's ATW's and running full slicks......... man that thing was fast.

I did manage to get some video............ will see if came out ok and post it up.

    Cheers

  9. Hi All,

If you going for a cruise this Sunday, drop in to the Mooloolah Country Club (we are behind the skate park) and check out the RC Off Road action. It is the largest event on the largest track in the southern hemisphere ever to be held in australia with over 200 drivers (5 from America....... all Professionals).

There is nothing like hearing an engine doing 50,000 rpm on metanol and nitro.

In fact the event runs from Thursday (racing Thursday and Friday night as well) to Sunday (Finals Sunday). Here is a link so you can check out the action

    Cheers

  10. I have fitted one as well........... I agree with GGTTRR the Willall Pipe sounds awesome under power, however, I would have to say there is a bit of drone around 2k rpm when you are using partial throttle (more so when you are in 4th, 5th or 6th).

Still when you hear the sound it makes when you are changing down though the gears (with the blip) nothing much else matters.

I wuold fit it (really quick job) and try it, you can alwasy replace with oem if you don't like it.

And no I won't be pulling mine off

    Cheers

  12. Hi Mark,

Awesome car . it it the same one i have seen driving around Mooloolaba ?

I had an R35 on order myself back in the uk but i cancelled the order , sold my EVO X RS (in my sig) and decided to spend some time out here for a bit ,

If you are looking for any more parts let me know as i can probably source for you

    Hope to catch you around

    John

Yeah I think mine is the only Super Silver one on the coast right now..............

What sort of parts can you get...........

    Cheers

    Mark

  13. Hi All,

Only just found this area yesterday...............

I am the guy on the coast with the GTR - 35 (Super Silver ADM) there was/is another (JDM model)one which was owned by a certian property developer but i believe he has now sold it.

Anyway don't really know many of you local gtr guys as I have been a Subaru (Black STi) man prior to this.

So I thought I would pop in and say 'Hi'.

As you can imagine I am over the moon about this car, it truly is an amazing car................ no real mods yet although I have just fitted a Willall Racing mid pipe to make it sound like a proper super car, gives additional 15 odd Kw's ATW's but hard to notice that gain over standard, mainly got it for the sound improvements anyways.

If any of you guys a going to the Track Day on the 8th July at QR.........I will be there as well (doing a Paul Rusic Day) so come over and say hello.

    Cheers

    Mark

  14. Goodluck Mark!

I've never been the QR, but it seems like you have a good mix of cars going. Do you have track tyres? If not (and the 996T does) he might hand your arse to you  Tyres are the No.1 mod in my book. Make sure you get some pics and video!

Yeah i would agree........... Spec R tires make the difference. However, it will be inrtresting to see how she goes on standard tires????

I will get some video of the day

  15. Hi Guys,

Just booked in for my first track day with 35.

It's on the 8th July though Paul Rusic Racing (morning session).

Has anyone had their GtR on QR yet?.............. if so what times have you done on the sprint, club and National.

I have done a heap of laps at QR with my Sti (long way from stock though), so it will be interesting to see how the 35 goes dead stock (well except for the Willall mid pipe).

And to make it even more interesting one of my clients is bring his 996 turbo (stock except for track tires) and one his friends is bringing his new AMG 63 (stock). But the real test will to see how far i am behind my friends Supra (he is doing 1min 19secs around the national track, that is bloody quick).

The best I have done in my Sti was a 1min 23 around the National Track.

    Cheers

  16. Well after around 3 hours behind the wheel I already formed the following thoughts.............

Sound System (premium) while not disappionting, is still not worth the extra money. :ermm::ermm::ermm:

Suspension is much softer than i thought (compared to my rex anyway)

Dunno how I am gonna get a helmet on for track use (I am 6'3").

That's about it for the downside so far............

    BUT THE CAR........................

    BLOODY AWESOME :):);)

Anyway I can hear it calling me :D:D

  17. My thoughts are the OEM system should have been better.

I got the "premium audio" package in the Mrs VW and that is a kick ass sound system - I was expecting the GT-R's premium one to be similar but its lacking in depth and the music box thing is a PITA to use unless you are someone that just likes to listen to normal cd's and and doesn't want to manually change discs.

It's back to burning MP3 cd's for me now - or just listening to the radio.

Sigh............ mines the "premium package" as well. Oh well might have to steal my "eclipse gear" from the rex

  18. Agree with both of the above.

although I am looking at solutions to some of the things listed, I am more than happy with it as it is stock. 2 weeks post delivery and I am if anything more amazed with the car than ever.

I had every gadget in my last car (540i) and only ever really used the bluetooth, and this bluetooth $h#ts all over it anyway!

    Mark,

I think you will enjoy the drive home from the goldie even if you are stationary most of the time. will give the northern coasties something to gawk at.

Yeah I know............. gonna stop at a mates place in Sanctuary Cove to have a bite to eat and head off later so i can give it a squirt on the way hame (nothing above 110 of course :P ).

BTW I spoke to Maroochy Car Sound about a rear view camera and they quoted me $1,349 (does that sound fair) with an RGB converter, camera (hi res hi angle) and fitting.

  19. Hell.............. I don't give a rat's arse about GPS............. I can find my way to any race track i need to visit

I just want my car..........was suppose to get it tomorrow :woot::D

However, the only 2 mechanic's that can work on it have been off sick yesterday and today :ermm:

So now it is Friday afternoon (if I am lucky)............

Oh well nothing like a 2 hour drove home in peak hour traffic to test out this amazing car :D:)

    Cheers

    Mark

  20. yep, russ put some in the JDM 35 I sold him and he is liking it. I'm sure a fair few people have used it by now.

My advice if you're picking up your new R35 there are 2 things you should get straight away:

1 : Cobb tuning access port

2 : mid pipe (and the willal one looks as good as any, and is made in aus and fair price too).

these 2 things are a great addition to any R35 GTR.

then after a bit of hard driving or a few track days change out the trans fluid for the willal stuff, and if you are planning more track work then consider investing in a trans cooler as well.

    enjoy ;)

    Thanks Beer Baron.........

This is my first nissan (thought i may as well start at the top) ever.

What is a Cobb tuning port................. i currently run an Autronic ECU in my rex, but have not heard of this before

    Cheers
