Found this ad for a body kit and noticed he'd done something funky with his reversing lights. I've since seen a couple of other varients and they look pretty cool. Does anyone know if these sorts of things are kits or need to be custom built?

18x8+23 Wheels, Brembo Clearance And Dish
Houdini replied to M I K E's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
are these bad boys still for sale? PM please (will req posting ). Thanks -
any word on this group buy? I'd be in for a set (if they'll fit the M35). Otherwise I'm happy to organise a group buy for M35 and can send the supplier my 5 piece set for a pattern (getting rid of mine because of smoke smell). Hell I'd be happy to buy a 5 set minimum and sell them here on the forum as and when people need.

$950 and whopping $1400 excess from Just Car. Suncorp Metway wouldn't touch it, A $ G didn't know squat (and wouldn't do it).

totally agree with above.I am getting passable fuel economy when I drive it like a V6 but put the boot in and I get 4kl/litre.

I'll hunt up the febreeze and the baking soda sounds an easy one to try. I don't know where to get white spirits from as I usually get them in a glass at a bar I didn't have any plan viengar so I put a glass full of white vinegar and balsamic vinegar in the front and back cup holders and left them overnight. I think it helped as I can't smell the smoke but I can really smell the vinegar! I assume it'll fade. I haven't gotten the steam clean yet and it's already heaps better.

Question: Can I Disconnect The Dvd Rom From The Glovebox?
Houdini replied to Houdini's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Hi, tuners coming soon. PM sent, thanks for the offer. -
I'm planning what to do with the In car entertainment in the M35. I have the standard Japanese DVD ROM in the upper glovebox but not the ETC box. I intend at this stage to use the factory screen but replace the CD player with a DVD, possibly, more dreaming/planning happening... Question is, since I want to use the space currently occupied by the useless DVD ROM unit, can I dump it? I think I stumbled across something on the forum that said you lose the trip computer, mileage stuff or something if you ditch it, is that right? If I don'tneed that stuff and don't want GPS, can I dump it without issue or do I have to hide it away behind the dash or something? Thanks

How To Replace Key Battery On M35
Houdini replied to Houdini's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
The guys are spot on. Remove screw, use a stanley knife or similar on the side of the key, run the blade along the join and twist gently and it pops right in half. The battery inside is a Panasonic CR 1620 3V. -
I'll buy one of those bottles off you! I'm going to Japan in Sept but can't wait that long.

I've pulled out the car mats, they're nice plush Stagea branded one's but I think there're too impregnated with the smoke smell. Actually the smoke smell isn't too bad but it's mixed with the strong air freshener and so it'll take a bit to get rid of it. I'm going to get the interior steam cleaned and found a good carpet treatment. Where is the AC inlet actually? I assume under the bonnet somewhere....
-
The central loccking isn't working on the car ( Stagea M35) and both key don't seem to do anything. I was wondering if it's the batteries. I took the single screw out of the remote part of the key but it doesn't seem to want to come apart. Any hints?

I've done a search but come up with nothing. So the question is: has anyone had success in removing the cigarette smell which I'm guessing is pretty common in Japanese cars? I've started to clean the carpets and stuff. I mean who smokes in the back anymore? Jeeze the rear ash tray had traces of ash in it!?

Thanks. I did touch the screen and sort of felt like I could push it down but didn't want to in case I broke it I found the button that takes you to the screen you can check out the fuel consumption etc. Kind of got lost with the rest. Stumbled across the radio one. I might buy my translator in law lunch and get her to write out some instructions for me. It'll be cool to see another M35 in Canberra as I feel like i'm the only one.
-
Can you send me a pm too? Just got the Stagea and the buttons are more difficult to guess my way through than I thought! I can't even work out how to put the screen down.
-
Have you got the manual as a pdf? If so send it and I'll get the translation started. If you have a book send it to me by mail, I'll scan it and then create a translated one. I've been hunting for a service manual to do the same so if anyone can provide either an electronic or hard copy one I'll get onto it. PM me and I will give you an address. Related to your post, I'm new to Stagea's too (in fact mine is being delivered in an hour ), and I've found this forum great. Read through the stickys on the front page and you'll find lots of info on most of what you're asking. Then do a bit of a search. I found 90% of what I wanted though through either the stickys or searching. The DVD thing is all over here and you can get it both ways.Long story short there's no translated hack available for the factory system yet and one that works will be an aftermarket system fitted in place of the OEM sometimes using the factory screen (NTSC) and sometimes using a replacement screen.

Translated Workshop Manual M35 & C34
Houdini replied to iamhe77's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Ok, hate to spruik for business (actually it's not my business but I could make it so ), but if there's enough interest (the count for the M35 Stagea is 23) I could geta quote to get it done as I have connnections. The thing is where do I get the Japanese version? Anyone here have one? -
Stagea Market - What Do People Want?
Houdini replied to RubyRS4's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I agree with the post before about the M35 prices. I looked at the older stags but it's only a couple grand more and you get newer body shape and some extra features. It's abuyers market which means there's buyers out there (like me ) but I did feel like I had the upper hand while looking. Patience may help too. It took me 9 months of ad's on carsales and the paper to sell my renault! -
What exhaust did you end up going with?
-
Well I'll have to check out the trojan guys to see if they know anything about M35's because mine is coming deposit paid. And I've never even seen on in the flesh! Exhaust is first on my list.
