  1. Hi paul, One of the reasons that OEM manufacturers went to closed loop systems is because catalytic convertors work best at 14.7:1 for emissions. If all you are interested in is economy (and you dont mind killing flipper lol) turn closed loop off and target the AFR's to 15:1. Due to the increased combustion temps, NOx emissions will go up as opposed to 14.7:1 Cheers, Matt
  2. Yeah man, my wastegate goes WHOOSH everyime I change gears man, its fully sik!!!11!!111oneoneone
  3. The most I have seen a GT35R make is about 430rwkw and that was the turbos choked flow.
  4. I think this is the most important part of the cam selection process.. matching the RPM range of the cams to the useful range provided by the turbo...
  5. What sort of rwkw can an 040 support?
  6. Usually they will issue a CAN on the spot (court attendace notice) either hes going to sent it in the mail or hes deciding weather or not to let it slip
  7. And here is the specific point on the cylinder head that the three coolant lines are taken from - one between 1 & 2, another between 3 & 4 and another between 5 & 6.
  8. Like this
  9. Simple - Throw a wideband on your car. Drive it and note the AF/R. Then drain the tank and put Extreme in it - you will notice its leaned out by 1 ratio. (ie if it was 12:1 before, now it will be running 13:1) This is due to extra oxygen and the reduced density of the ethanol. Need tuning.
  10. You need to rev the engine to 2000rpm and measure the voltage coming off each sensor with a multimeter. When you find the sensor that has the higher voltage, you connect the knock wire on the SAFC to that sensor wire. Cheers, Matt
  11. If its taking 8500 to get the 1 bar then you have serious tuning or mechanical problems
  12. Standard intercooler and injectors? Hmm
  13. Roy, can you post the cpics please? Also, have a look at any of the JUN modified RB26's (especiallty GTR-700) this will give you some ideas on cooling system mods
  14. Al, re the tyre theory - you are totally incorrect. An increase in pressure does not mean that more molecules of air are present. do a google for boyle's ideal gas law or PV=nRT and you will be enlightened.
  15. So the GT3071 is a better match if you dont need the 76mm comp wheel?
  16. Its capable of more than that, with the right exhaust housing these babies can punch over 400rwkw. Good luck with the sale mate Cheers, Matt
  17. Not with the logging and wideband option. Its quite easy to do yourself with the motec Pro tuning option. MoTeC have whats called a quick lambda function in their ECU's, It lets you create a map the holds your target lambda value, and essentially you drive the car, get someone to press the Q key on your laptop and the ECU will tune itself to the target air-fuel mix. SydneyKid once tuned a mazda race car completely in 2 laps of bathurst using this setup.. Very cool stuff.
  18. Roy, Great to see someone upping the ante with RB20's - Cant wait to see the results.. IMHO I would be leaning towards the 3037S if it is available, but either way it will be interesting. Cheers, Matt
  19. You cant read the G readings from the ECU simply because the ECU doesnt have anything to do with the 4WD system. ATTESSA has its own Computer in the boot, and as far as I know it doesnt have a consult port on it.
  20. Only way to check is on the dyno, You'll know where MBT (Minimum Timing for Best Torque) is when you lose power with more ignition timing.
  21. Ash, whats the diff between the Garrett/HKS TO4Z and TO4R then? is it the same turbo, one with a sleeve cartridge and the other with a BB cartridge?
  22. Yep, a GT42 is a much newer generation wheel in any case - look at the GT series and forget the old paddel wheel shitters
  23. Dont you mean Nikasil?
