  2. I did exactly that with a R33 GTR a couple of months ago, see my post. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/In...-T-t267077.html There is much information on the topic on this forum but much of it is contradictory. How to buy car from Vic: 1. Check the car isn't stolen, damaged, or under finance by running a vehicle check on vicroads. http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/Home/Regist...orePurchase.htm 2. Goto vic, check whatever you want to check on the vehicle. 3. Sign a contract, something obvious "I seller have sold my car to buyer on date. sign date lots, witness" and both take a copy. 4. Hand over your cash and take the keys - I used a bank cheque. Get a receipt if possible. 5. Rego cant be transferred so you have 2 options here - Drive the car back with the current rego or get a 1 day temp rego from Vicroads. Option 1 is best as you now have a registered car that can be driven for up to a month in SA as is, but the seller must understand that he will get the speeding fines etc so dont do anything stupid. Option 2, you need a temporary rego from vicroads that says exactly where you will be going, you will need a temp rego when you get to SA too and then you cant drive your car after you get it home until you go through regency. Take option 1 if possible. 6. Goto regency, fill out paperwork, go through an Identity Inspection. Its not a roadworthy as chef_stagea said, so don't have anything obviously illegal and you'll be fine. Get new plates for your awesome SA registered beast. 7. Post back the vic plates (especially if they are custom as they are state specific and are useless to you). 8. claim a refund on the vic registration, they sent me a cheque for $300 I have in-dish rims and an aftermarket front but wasn't a problem. Hope that helps.
  3. Legend Cheers for the invite, DD deposited but will take a couple of days as I'm with a credit union. Will be a great day.

  8. 22yo Male. No fines, loss of license, no claims, nothing. Held a license for 4 years. 1995 R33 GTR Mods: power fc, full exhaust cat back system, bunch of security stuff, $800 audio system, remote ignition, turbo timer, aftermarket cam gears and belt, carbon fiber front lip. Just Car Premium $1530 Excess $1500 plus underage of $450 Insured value $26500 Was originaly quoted online (and paid) over $2000 premium for $21000 value but I rechecked all my details once I had the car in this state and got another online quote, called just car and received a refund cheque
  9. Was a great trackday. My first trip out and I learnt alot. Spun out the 33 gtr on the wide corner infrotn of the main grandstands, got understear when dropping into second enterting the corner, too much acceleration and a cracked front carbon fiber lip via a dip in the concrete - ah well. Cheers again for the duct tape btw. I was off the end of the stock speedo on the back straight. Don't feel too sorry for the clubsport, he was driving like a tool with his mate blue-yoshi, unfortunate ending but it was his own fault.
  10. That was my 33 GTR, was a good drive down there. That r31 was mad too.
  11. Yeh the information is confusing - many people with many different outcomes. When I went to register I was sent for an ID inspection, but when I got to the ID they had a thorough look through my car like a roadworthy. Even after it all, I really don't know what are the formal checks required for a vehicle for the ID inspection. I know they looked at all ID numbers on the engine and car to check they all match (as I have a copy of the form they fill in) and I suspect if they see anything obviously illegal then they have the power to defect - but that's just a guess. If the car isn't too heavily modified I see no issue bringing it into the state. If it is modified, accept that you may need to undo the mods to get it through regency.
  12. The $600 was just the basics, stamp duty, rego, ctp, inspection fee (only $40~) etc. A pleasant suprise really as I was expecting much wallet pain. I saw your r32 too, looks nice mate, such a light quick vehicle must be great fun to drive. I have read 2 acronyms on this site that I can't google the answer so far: OAA and CAA. Can anyone elaborate please?
  13. Ah damn mate. I said to my gf that I thought there was a nissan convention going on (albeit slightly sarcasticly ), hence why I did drive pass a second time, but yeh just didn't stop. I will stop by next time for sure.
  14. Haha yes that was me. I think I saw your white GTS-T? And a nice stagea also. Small world adelaide. TBH I didn't trace the Apexi cable far enough obviously, but soldering is not a problem for me... slightly doh
  15. I haven't taken any yet myself, but here is one from the ad.
  16. Hello all, First post for me, so a quick cheer to all the great people on this site for all their time and passion dedicated to the cause. So i flew to Melbourne last friday and brought back a sexy R33 GTR. The previous owners have really loved the car, condition is excellent and runs like a dream - the stock 180kph speedo being the only limit on a very fun trip back from vic. I wanted to share my experience of getting the car registered in SA as I had read and heared alot about my iminent wallet pain, better known as the saga of "getting a skyline through regency". The car: R33 GTR, black, GT400R full body kit, carbon fiber front lip, Apexi Power FC computer, Apexi Intake filter, greddy turbo timer, aftermarket cam gears and timing belt, x-force twin front pipe, Kakimoto full cat back straight through exhaust with 4.5" canon muffler, 8000k headlights, 17" long champ in-dish rims, remote ignition and alarm. I spoke to many people about the registration process and the story looked to be doom and gloom. On the day, I hid the turbo timer below the plastic under the steering wheel and chopped off the Apexi FC computer hand held terminal (as I couldnt hide it, but can re-solder). The canon muffler is loud, I assumed to be instantly defectable. I drove to regency and was redirected to the "new" inspection place round the corner. I filled in a form before driving my car into the shed where some bloke started to inspect my car. I spoke a couple of sentences to the guy before I was asked to wait away from the car (like everyone else). He went over it quite carefully, looking with a torch inside the engine and a bit inside the car for a good 10 minutes. The engine was not running except when I drove it in (I had the keys anyway). After about 10 minutes he called me over, gave me a form and said to "drive back to regency where they will take all my money" and made a wise crack about "not doing anything stupid, like adding a turbo timer". I assume he found my turbo timer but was in a good mood, or just a nice guy. Drove back to regency, spent $600~ and got a SA registered GTR with 3 months rego. At the same time as my car was going through, a R34 GTR was also, but I didn't see the driver at regency afterwards even though her inspection started before mine. If you're out there, hope all went well for you too. Hope this helps anyone else considering bringing in a godzilla from interstate. Almost forgot, a big thanks to Han for the car, cheers mate.
