  1. I really don't think it's that bad. It could have been before i cleaned the headlights a while ago (headlight cleaning kit with sandpaper, polish and protectant seal), but i love them now. The difference between this and my old R33 S1 is very big. You don't have to play around with this globe or that globe, just fixes the problem straight away. I've driven behind many friends and family at night, and no one has complained about glare. It doesn't compare to those 4WD's that pull up behind you on a red light and blind the hell out of you whenever your head is facing one of the rear view mirrors. I've also driven by cops numerous times at night with no problems.
  2. Finally! This thing was buggin me so much, had to take this gear knob off, especially after almost destroying the thing while trying to wind it off with a vice grip! I was on my way home and decided to give John Penlington a visit at Unique Auto. I asked him if i was going about it the right way and after a look at it, he let me borrow a chisel Unfortunately the only option i had was to destroy the shield around the grub nuts of the knob. I started to drill holes into the shield and when i thought i had enough, i chiseld the thing till i had a tear wide enough to unscrew the grub nuts. This is what it looked like after i was done with it and took it off! The hero of the day: My sexy new NISMO gear knob : Thank Unique Auto for the help!
  3. My R33 came with HID's, and i love em! At first they light up a whiteish/blue colour, actually very nice. But when they warm up they have a yellow tinge. I don't mind that though, it keeps the cops away. Never had any attention towards my headlights. They really help light up the night, even in the standard headlight housing. They even produce more light than my high beams i think!
  4. Hey all, I'm having a problem removing my gear knob. Maybe it's something simple, but i have already searched through this forum for some help, but found nothing for my particular problem. Now i think i have a momo sphere gear knob, it came with the car. I am trying to remove this so i can attach my new nismo gear knob, but i just can't seem to get this thing off! If it was a regular momo gear knob, the bottom would simply unscrew to reveal some other screws. But not with my gear knob. Here are a few pics. Yes they look a little worn out . That's all i was able to do! You see the 3rd bottom piece, kind of like an umbrella? I think that is my problem. The middle piece turns both clockwise and anti-clockwise, but thats all it does, it doesn't go up or down as you screw it off or on really. The bottom piece also rotates but it does nothing either! I would really appreciate some help, i would love to take this garbage off my gear stick asap! Thanks.
  5. Hey Mike, Just wondering what you used to blank out your front signal light, i assume it doesn't blink orange now either? Bit off topic but i've been wanting to do this to my 33 as well, as it is the only thing not black or white when you look front on at the car. Cheers.
  6. Had to leave early but was fun while i was there! Was waiting for more Skylines though!
  7. Can you please send me a pic of your steering wheel? What condition is it in? Thanks.
  8. Ah i see, i get the grades now thanks . Yeah i picked up on clay bars and all that about 2 months ago, but i missed the grade part as it doesn't get covered as much, i also forgot they strip off wax . Thanks for filling me in Matt.
  9. So that is a genuine koyorad for a R33 S2? Can you please PM me pictures? Thanks mate.
  10. No worries, thanks Daniel. Can you please PM me the products you could install into my R33? That way i can read a bit about them and if they suit me i'll get you to come and install it for me. If you need more information from me to provide me with a short list of possible systems, let me know. Thanks mate.
  11. Thanks Terry About the clay bars, i am familiar with them, i've used the Mothers one that comes with 2 clay bars, quick detailer and a mircofibre cloth. It worked great, however when i browsed online retailers they had different grades of clay, what is the difference between them??
  12. To be honest i don't know what's going on with my remote control system? I would like to tear it out and have a nice new system in place, my lights don't even flash when i lock or un-lock, but the one page wiring diagram/manual i have for the system says it should! So i can go ahead and fix this, but what's the point...? I'd be tearing it out in the near future to install something with an alarm, maybe remote start and some other cool features. I also appreciate the offer Johhny, will keep it in mind. Daniel, so you do not sell alarm systems but run a mobile service to install them in Sydney?
  13. Assuming you are reffering to me, I'm in Sydney western suburbs.
  14. Yeah true, I'm starting to get the hang of all this, lots of theory in my head but i need to put it to practice. If you could fill me in on products you have had a good experience with i would appreciate it as i am about to stock up on car cleaning products. Hmm would be interesting to know how thin my paint is by now. What is a 'healthy' reading? Just to clarify, Matt, It's polish -> Wax - Seal or Polish -> seal -> wax ? I'm going to buy a lambswool washing mitt and a waffle weave drying towel. I always hate when my synthetic chamois gets dirty, i don't like using a dirty chamois to dry my car but it's hard to get those things clean after a couple uses.
  15. Yeah that is what the employee said after we took it back there, i understand why it happened, the problem is it's their job and that is not a good enough excuse for a customer. Thanks a lot Matt, I'll keep that in mind. I think after my exams I'll give her car a proper wash and see what it looks like. I do have a question though; With a car as new as a 2012 toyota 86, would it be harmful to the paint to start polishing it this soon? Only reason i ask is because after the wash i found swirl marks everywhere. I think it already had swirl marks but they stood out a lot more after the wash. Thanks.
  16. Hey all, Got a 1998 Toyota Camry V6 for sale, it is not mine but it belongs to someone i know well. The car is owned by a mechanic. It will take you from point A to B with no hassles. The ride is comfortable and quiet, the engine still feels smooth even after 200,000ks(GENUINE 242443 Kms), no oil leaks what so ever. This is Toyota after all! The car has no flaws except for the rear bumper which has some cosmetic damage, Nothing major mostly just paint scratches. It has an aftermarket CD player and that is about it. Interior is very clean you will be surprised. If you are looking for a Camry, or a reliable car to last, then look no further. You really do not have to worry about this buy. The car will always start first go, once you start the car you will realize how healthy the engine still is. The reason he is selling the car is because he purchased an 08 Corolla. Price is negotiable and he would like to sell it ASAP. So if you need a workhorse because you don't want to drive your precious beast everywhere, this is your car. Car is located in Bossley Park 2176. Some Quick Specs: Model: Camry series Year: 1998 Mileage (Km): 242443 Transmission: Automatic Registration Expiry: 02/02/2013 Asking price is: $3000 ONO. Some pictures: Any questions please PM me. Thanks.
  17. It's great to be honest, i like how it all changes in front of my eyes, I'm trying to learn all i can about detailing so this helped alot. The guy seems to be very passionate about his job too. I wish there were more people like him because most of the people that will clean your car don't give a shit about it. My gf has an 86 and she took it for its first wash at a place in parklea, near the Hungry Jacks/Shell petrol station (Won't name it), it didn't look like they cared much about what they did, water spots everywhere, places missed. So it's nice to see people like the one in the vid who really care. Although there is a world of a difference between a car wash and car detailer.
  18. Nice car there mate, however it needs more info i think, got any power figures? I'm not interested to buy but might help others? Does it have an aftermarket fuel pump too? Where is the vehicle located?
  19. Working great now, must have just been the Uni PC i was using. Watching it now .
  20. No worries mate, I'm glad it worked for you. Tired of seeing skylines drivin around with hazy headlights, let's bugger them off! I still need to seal though
  21. Ah ok i see, sorry, just didn't have time to read 44 pages so i thought someone could fill me in. Thanks .
  22. Video isn't working for me here on the Uni PC's. Same for everyone else??
  23. Yeah i looked up the mobile repair guys, the only reason i created this thread was to find out if anyone else had any experience with a certain repairer and would recommend them. Also to get an opinion on how bad it looks. Thanks mate.
