Do I Need A Aftermarket Ecu To Reach 450-500Hp ?
GT32 replied to Iceman22's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
If you want to go real cheap you can always use Apexi S-AFC + Apexi S-ITC alongside the standard ECU. I ran these on my car with a GT3582BB, Z32 AFM and 740cc injectors and it made 480hp perfectly fine. Infact, a lot of people thought that it wouldn't even idle properly due to the large injectors but mine idled quite fine and ran well for 12+ months at that power level. Although this is something that i personally don't recommend anymore because there's not a lot of workshops that will tune this setup nowadays, I had to ring at least 10 workshops in victoria to find one who will still do it (glad i did because now i won't use any other workshop again, very happy with my current tuner). It's old technology and plus it won't give you a lot of the features that a complete aftermarket ECU will. But if you want cheap, then this is the cheapest you're ever likely gonna get! -
G'day mate. I'll take some new pics and mms to your mobile by tomorrow arvo and yes, that price includes everything that i mentioned in my last post still intact on the car. Engine loom is also still intact. You can see pics of the body from when the car was still running by going to my blog via the link in my signature or you can scroll up to my first post in this thread and click on the direct link to the pictures from there.

Spotted plenty of Skylines at my tuners' dyno day yesterday (A.R.T. in West Heidelberg). Bayside Blue BNR34 Vspec, Millennium Jade BNR34 Mspec NUR, Black R35 GTR (with Black 20" Advan Rims and quad Titanium Exhaust kit--looked and sounded absolutely fkn hot!), Midnight Purple ECR33, Silver V35 350GT plus many, many more. One car also worthy of mentioning was a genuine Powerhouse Amuse GT Wide-Body kitted Honda S2000 (this thing was sex on wheels). I took over 250 photos and will be posted up on my blog by tomorrow night. Link to the blog is in my signature.

Hey dude, Not sure of the exact brand but people have told me it's an ECCS front and rear bar. I haven't seen alot of these kits around. Infact, i've only ever seen two R32's with this exact same kit (one in VIC and the other in QLD). I'm trying to sell the rolling shell with the bodykit intact at this point in time but if anything changes i'll let you know asap. With my RB25 injector setup you might need to change to a forward-facing plenum and use an aftermarket RB20 top-feed fuel rail to make them fit as i'm not entirely sure that they will be a direct replacement on the standard fuel rail (can someone please confirm this?). In theory, they are technically compatible as they're both high impedance and top-fed but making them fit into the standard fuel rail could be a different story. When i purchased them for my RB25DET head i already had a new plenum and fuel rail installed so we never got to test compatibility. I'll do some research later and get back to you.

Possibly could've been a Midnight Purple R33 GTR V-Spec. I've seen this car with the plates VSPEC (not V5PEC or any of the other variants) around Geelong a few times as well.

Fs: 2000 Nissan S15 - Vertex Ridge Widebody
GT32 replied to GTRR's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
JDM S15 or not, that is one hot car! -
Actually, i purchased my greddy style plenum from there as well. I remember the freight cost being quite astronomical. As well as for the radiator. I don't think i really cared at the time as i wanted those parts quickly because i needed my mechanic to finish my job asap.

Modified Hcr32 Skyline For Sale (black)
GT32 replied to GT32's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
RB25DET GEARBOX - $1000 SOLD / PENDING PAYMENT CUSTOM 1-PIECE TAILSHAFT - $100 SOLD / PENDING PAYMENT -
I purchased my alloy radiator and apexi avcr from the states. They got here fairly quickly and hassle free. Although freight is kinda pricey if you want things shipped faster... I think it depends on what you're buying and how much it costs. I've never bought anything really big or expensive from the u.s. before so i'm not certain how import duties and other cost factors etc are calculated.
-
JDM-101 When i bought these plates i also contemplated purchasing GT32... until i saw the price. It was categorised as a signature plate and price was like $1995! If i was planning to keep my 32 until the day i died then yeah, maybe...

100 Questions for Skyline owners
GT32 replied to funkymonkey's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
1. What is your name and where are you from? Phonz – Geelong/Melbourne, Vic 2. What is your occupation? Communication/IT Sales, Business Consultant 3. What is your date of birth and blood type? May, 1983 4. What are your hobbies? Automotive (obviously), Reading, Travelling, Technology, Art and Design 5. How many years have you had your license and what license type are you? 9.5 years – Full Licence 6. How many accidents have you had (your fault) and how many traffic violations have you had? Never been in an accident, 3x speeding fines, 1x not displaying p-plate properly (i challenged this one in court but lost), loss of licence for reckless driving, loss of licence for drink driving 7. What was the car you owned before your current one? 2 – Nissan Skyline R31, Nissan Silvia S13 8. What is your current car and its mileage? 1992 Nissan Skyline HCR32 GTS-t—161,000kms 9. Is the car Auto or Manual? 5-Speed Manual 10. What part of your car is unique that no one else has? Few things—custom made dual-core bar and plate intercooler, Wheels—Work XD9 MBG/Madbray (discontinued finish—have yet to see another car in australia with the same finish in the flesh, i know there has been a few sets brought into the country but i don't think any of them have appeared on a HCR32), Bodykit—i have yet to see another HCR32 (in pictures or in the flesh) with the exact same body kit as mine. 11. Do you own a motorbike? No 12. Biggest trouble/problem you've ever had with a car you've owned? Way too many to mention. Engine spun a bearing—required full rebuild, clutch vibration problem that surfaced and took months to resolve (once we eventually fixed it, the oil pump subsequently let go approximately 2 hours later—grr). Those were probably the two biggest issues. When it comes to heavy modification of cars, you'll be forever running into problems. 13. Do you have an in-car navigation system? No 14. Do you have an e-tag/electronic toll unit? What are your thoughts on the system? No – convenient but slightly expensive 15. Do you have a particular route or road that you enjoy driving on? What is it? Start of Princes Fwy (Geelong side) all the way through the Western Ring Road to Epping/Thomastown and back. The missus lives there so that's my regular route on the weekend when i pick her up/drop her off. Late at night it's very cruisy and not much traffic. Plus, i always have plenty of chance encounters along the route that helps 'speed up' the journey during my long trips back home late at night/early morning. 16. Do you have a meet point that you prefer? What is it? BP Little River (Princes Fwy) – wide open car parks (truck stops) that we regularly utilise for pre-cruise meet-ups etc because of the available space and good place to have breakfast beforehand. 17. What petrol do you use? Why do you use it... Brand, Price or Convenience? BP Ultimate – have always used it. Tried other brands but the car doesn't feel as punchy/smooth to run. 18. What is your favourite engine oil? Only ever use Motul 300V—Chrono 10W40 and Competition 15W50 in all my modified cars. 19. How often do you change the oil in your car? 3000-5000kms 20. What make is your tyre, and what size is it? Bridgestone Potenza GIII and Dunlop SP 9000. 235/40/18 and 245/40/18 21. How much tread is left on your tyres at the moment? ~80% 22. Do you use winter tyres? No 23. How often do you wash your car? Wash once a week, wax once a fortnight 24. What magazines do you read/subscribe to? HPI 25. What music do you listen to while driving? Anything funky/cruisy. Hiphop/r&b, house/electro. Old school pop/alternative rock, 80's/90's. 26. Do you listen to the radio in your car? If so what station and/or show do you prefer? Yes—Nova 100 and Fox FM 27. When you are stuck in traffic, what do you do to pass time? Change CDs/radio station, send TXT messages... 28. What products can you simply not be without in your car? Wet wipes and water 29. Do you prefer to take the highway or the scenic route to places that are between 50 to 100 km's away? Scenic route 30. Does your significant other prefer to accompany you on your drives in the passenger seat? Yes 31. What is your preferred tuning shop? A.R.T. in West Heidelberg 32. What is your preferred second hand parts shop? JPA in Epping 33. When you see the sticker "Baby On Board" what do you do or think? Don't really see a lot of those anymore. Usually overtake them when i do though... 34. Do you like the Nissan models that have been released since Carlos Ghosn took over as CEO? Yes 35. Although the R34 Skyline has been replaced by the V35, do you consider it a valid successor? No 36. What are your 3 most favourite Nissan models, excluding the one you own? BNR32, S15 (with RB26 conversion) and CPV35 350GT 37. What are your 3 most favourite non-Nissan cars? Ferrari F430 Scuderia, Honda NSX-R, Toyota FT-86 38. If you were to buy a new car now, what would it be? 2003-2004 CPV35 350GT Premium 6-Speed manual in Pearl White (i'm actually just about to buy one, lol) 39. Although it's not Nissan, do you like Rotary Engines? Yes 40. What quality do you feel your car lacks? Response 41. What generation is your Skyline? Third generation—R32 42. Is your car RWD or AWD? RWD 43. Why did you choose to buy your car? Always wanted one since i was 15 after watching best motoring/hot version/jdm option videos 44. When you chose your car, what other models did you also consider? JDM DC2 Honda Integra Type-R 45. When you bought the car, what condition was it in? Normal or needed some work? Overall condition was good but engine/twin-turbo configuration definitely needed some refinement... 46. How many times do you drive your car in a week? Twice—Saturday and Sundays 47. If you had to coin a catchphrase for Skylines, what would it be? ..."The ultimate money pit—modify now, starve later" 48. What car would you say is a rival model to yours as far as features are concerned? Toyota Supra 49. What is in your opinion, the best features of your Skyline? Noise, Power 50. What parts of your car don't work like they should? Battery voltage—never goes above 13v despite changing the alternator twice and replacing countless things 51. Have you ever dreamt of your car? Give an example. Not really (can't remember in other words), although it wouldn't surprise me... 52. What do those close to you (family, partner etc) think of your car? Too loud/waste of money/why did you buy it/loves it too much/second wife/doesn't even drive it/can't stop spending (wasting) money on it/polishes it too often/get rid of it/that car will be the death of you 53. What spec would you class your car as? Drift, Drag, Circuit, or Cruiser? Drag and cruiser 54. Which is more important to you about your car? Appearance, Performance/Power or Comfort? Performance/power then appearance 55. What seats and steering wheel do you have in your car? Recaro SR2's/Momo Fighter 56. What brakes does your car have? (Including disc/hub) Standard Type-M rotors and calipers/Project Mu B-Spec pads 57. What exhaust does your car have? Tanabe Tuner Medallion 3.25" system/4" muffler 58. What headunit/stereo is in your car? None 59. What gauges does your car have? Apexi EL boost gauge 60. What aftermarket suspension parts does your car have? Tein HR coil-overs 61. What structural reinforcement parts does your car have? BNR32 front and rear strut braces 62. What intake/cooling parts do you have on your car? Custom-made dual-core bar and plate intercooler, custom-made intercooler piping, dual-core aluminium radiator, GReddy plenum, high-flow pod filter, Q45 throttle body 63. Anything else you have replaced on your car? Just about everything besides the rear seats, dash/centre console, doors/boot lid and the chassis itself! 64. How many km/l do you get out of your car on average? 350kms on average from a full tank 65. Do you think you'll be driving the same car in 5 years? Nope 66. Would you purchase the car you own if it was new? (ie you'd be the first owner of the car) Nope 67. If you were given the choice between your car and your partner, which would you choose over the other? This lifetime—partner Some other lifetime—possibly car. Lol 68. If the Skyline you own did not exist, what would you be driving right now? Probably a Honda S2000, Toyota Mark II Tourer V, S15 or 350Z. 69. A lot of Skyline owners are changing to Evo's, what do you think of them and would you change? They're an awesome performance car but not my cup of tea, so no. 70. Which headlight do you prefer, projector or non projector and HID or regular? HID 71. If you were to respray your car, what colour would it be? Pearl White, Brilliant Red, Bayside Blue, Deep Jet Black 72. What is the first mod that you would do on a stock version of your car? Aftermarket wheels 73. Is there a mod in particular that you would like to never see done to a Skyline? 4-cylinder engine swap 74. If your car is RWD, is there any time when you wish it was AWD? Or if your car is AWD, is there any time when you wish it was RWD? Wish it was AWD at take off during a drag 75. Have you ever considered your car awkward or uncool? Why? It used to have a BNR34 rear spoiler on it. Decided to take it off in the end because i thought it looked a bit tacky. Got plenty of compliments though but i didn't prefer the look of it myself... 76. Do you have any brochures for your car? Where'd you get it from? Yes, off Google 77. Do you have a service manual, log book and owner's manual for your car? Yes, off Google 78. How do you feel about the price of Skylines on the market now compared to the price you paid for your car? I reckon they've aged pretty well. It's had its time so i kinda expected them to drop to around the current price range now anyway. 79. If money was not an issue, what tuning mods would you make to your car? N1 RB26 engine transplant, spot/seam weld the entire chassis, carbon fibre just about everything 80. Would you upgrade the hub assembly of your car? (eg 4 stud to 5 stud) N/A 81. Would you upgrade the air-con system in your car? (eg manual to climate control) N/A 82. Have you made any parts for your car or any DIY mods? Aftermarket radiator brackets 83. Do you own any spare parts for your car that aren't needed yet? Yes 84. If it was feasible to own a second car identical to yours, would you? Possibly 85. How much have you spent on repairs to your car? Alot 86. If you see another Skyline which has been modified differently, do you pick faults in it? Styling-wise, sometimes. I try not to though. Because everybody is unique hence their taste would be different. You wouldn't like it if someone judges your car in a negative manner , would you? Some people would approach it as constructive criticism and possibly rethink about what they've done. I wouldn't. I would just keep doing what i'm doing because i would be happy with what i've created. However, if it was something mechanical, then yes. I will always take a broader perspective on something that's mechanically changed on the car as there's a wealth of information out there to take in and there might be something that somebody's done more efficiently than you. So it only makes sense that you listen, learn and take in the knowledge. That's what SAU is here for. 87. Have you ever watched Initial D, and do you think your car would have beaten Takumi? Probably not. It wasn't purpose-built to do so. 88. Would you buy a scale model of your car, and how much would you be willing to spend up to on it? A hundred... 89. Would you buy a remote control model of your car, and how much would you be willing to spend up to on it? A few hundred... 90. Has your car ever been in a magazine? If so what and which issue? Nope 91. Have you ever participated in a cruise or attended a meet for Skyline owners? Yes 92. Is there any other forum members' car that you idolise or was very impressed by? Yes 93. Would you do a face swap/upgrade (ie R34 front on R32, C33 front on A31, etc)? No. But maybe a 350Z front-end on a V35 would look good imho. 94. What would you consider the locally produced equivalent of your car? Possibly not... 95. You are offered to pick straws, one straw will get you free mods of your choice and track time to test them, the other will see your car returned to factory standard. Would you pick straws? Nope 96. You are to attend a track day, however your car gets damaged, and have the following choices: - run the same model as your car, but with a fully tuned RB20E engine. The car has done 150,000kms, and the engine has done 50,000kms. - run the same model as your car, but with a RB20DET auto. The car has done 500,000kms, and the turbo has done 60,000kms. - run your damaged car What would you do? First choice 97. If you were to grade yourself as an expert on Skylines, what would you be out of 100? 70 98. What is the purpose your car serves in your life? Weekend driving satisfaction 99. One word that describes Skyline owners in the country and the rest of the world? Obsession 100. Other than "that was long and tiring" do you have any comments? "Tiring and long, that was." Btw, most of these questions were irrelevant to me now, lol. As i've stripped my car so there is currently no more skyline. Was bored and couldn't sleep. I just answered them to reflect when the car was still running. -
