  1. Yeah it's on top of my overflow tank. I'll take some pics later
  2. Only time that ever happens to me is when I flush my cooling system and add new coolant. After half an hour or so of driving the reservoir tank depletes because I always thought the system self-bleeds as there is a small vent on top of my tank. I just top it up to max once this happens and the coolant stays full until the next time I'm ready to flush the entire system again.
  3. I bought my plenum from these guys (http://stores.ebay.com.au/performancecarpartsaustralia). Had it on the car for over 12 months now and it has never given me any problems. Although I heard a rumour last year that Trust/Greddy have moved some of their production lines from japan over to china so you should be able to pick up a "genuine" Greddy plenum for alot cheaper nowadays.
  4. I only use straight water to flush the system. Once it's flushed I just pour in pre-mixed Nulon red along with 500ml of Motul Mo'Cool. Works fine for me and has kept the temps consistently lower during the hotter months.
  5. HKS have an rb25det exhaust cam (step 1/ss-cam) in a 264 duration with 9.0mm of lift which is VCT compatible. I'm thinking about getting their 256IN/8.8mm and 264EX/9.0mm step 1 drop-in cam combo for my engine but I've read somewhere that apparently those particular cams are discontinued now? Can anyone please confirm?
  6. Heaps of things. AFM broke from over-tightening... twice (plastic POS). Power steering tensioner bolt hmmm Wheel stud on my old s13 snapped whilst I was torquing the nut <--?!??!! Around 149853553 hose clamps This isn't exactly a part off my car but when I first bought my 32 (over 5 years ago) the dickhead who previously owned it torqued the oil filter so F\*&)%ng tightly I had to stab a screwdriver right through the centre of it to try and move it. Initially it wouldn't budge and ended up snapping the screwdriver in the process. I then used a thicker and longer screwdriver and eventually, after a lot of blood, sweat and tears it finally came off. LOL
  7. 6 weeks isn't that long anyway. Just start ordering the other things you need and build up a stockpile of new parts while you wait for the manifold to arrive . Watching your parts list grow is half the fun
  8. Mine took nearly 8 weeks but I was extremely happy with the end result. Kyle's manifolds are a work of art.

I've spotted that car a few times around the western suburbs areas. It's currently for sale on carsales (search = BPAIN in keywords). Very nice and clean BNR32.

Yeah how bad was it!! They were everywhere, especially one marked station wagon which kept doing u-turn after u-turn patrolling directly outside epping plaza. I even watched it pull over a man and his daughter on their bicycles because they weren't wearing any helmets, lol. Inside epping plaza were officers patrolling the whole joint as well. Our streets have never been safer
  11. Are you sure the clutch pivot ball hasn't broken? This happened to me when my old silvia broke down in st kilda and my clutch just dropped, couldn't do shit. Had to replace both the pivot and slave cylinder as it shat itself same time the pivot ball broke. Also spewed clutch fluid all over the middle of beaconsfield pde at 1 in the morning

Spotted lots of skylines today whilst we were having our own mini-cruise towards Lake Mountain. Our group consisted of a 2x black r32, a blue r32 and a gunmetal grey r32, plus a white chaser. First spot was a silver r33 on the side of the princes fwy around hoppers crossing in the morning. Second, third and fourth spot were 2x gunmetal grey(I think) r32 gtr's and a black r32 gtst roughly 50kays away from the Lake Mountain Resort.
  13. Nigel, when I replaced my alternators I've always bought one off an RB20DET motor. However, I run an RB30E bottom end. Are the alternators across the entire RB-series of engines all rated at different amperage? Should I be using an alternator that was taken off an RB30 as opposed to one off an RB20? I've always wondered if that would make any difference in my circumstance...
  14. GTRAAH, this happens to me as well. No matter how I drive, the voltage meter on my turbo timer won't go past 12.6-12.7, only time it ever goes past 13.0 is right after I cold start it then after a minute or so it drops back down to 12.6 again. Also if I leave the car parked for too long (eg. 2-3 weeks) without cranking it then my battery runs flat. If I listen to music for around 20mins without the car running then battery goes flat again. I've replaced the alternator twice already and have had to buy new batteries numerous times in the 4 and a half years I've owned it. The car's had this problem ever since day one and it's slowly driving me insane!
  15. Or you could just do what I did on my 25det head and convert to a top-fed setup. When I was upgrading, I got quoted prices around 1400-1500 for nismo 740cc side-feds. I thought f**k this, there has to be a better way. So I spoke to my tuner and after a while we agreed on going top-fed. He ordered me in a new fuel rail, new speedflow fittings, I bought a set of top-fed siemens high impedence 740cc injectors and plugs etc through my cousins work and all the parts ended up costing me a bit over half of what I got quoted for the nismos alone.

Spotted a fellow skyliner after i dropped the mrs off around 9:15pm on dalton rd in the form of a (midnight??) purple 32. He had the same eccs rear bar as mine. Never seen my rear bar on any other car in the whole 4 years i've owned my car until tonight. The car looked very good. I gave a thumbs up at the lights and we had a bit of fun on the ring road before splitting ways at the sydney road turn-off then i headed back home to geelong.
  17. Same
  18. I use a Tial 44mm ext gate with my 6boost manifold, never had any problems. When I was looking around on what to purchase I did some research on these forums first. They both are pretty much identical in terms of reliability and performance according to alot of people. I ended up going for the Tial however cause my mate couldn't get in the Turbosmart through his work at the time. Just don't skimp out and buy yourself a chinese copy because the quality is probably not as good and you might run into problems down the track with things like the diaphragm malfunctioning and the gate being stuck open. There's alot of nasty stories floating around with cheap ext gates. Purchase from a good, reputable brand and you shouldn't have any dramas.

Spotted a clean dark coloured wingless R33 drive past me at the dalton road/western ring intersection whilst i was turning right back on the freeway around 11pm. And earlier around 8pm saw an red(??) MR2 when i was driving into plenty valley s.c. who gave me a thumbs up so i returned with a nod and thumbs up. Also see the gold R32 everytime i head into plenty valley. If youre on here ron, then g'day, not sure if that gold 32 is yours or your brothers car, but it's very nice. You might remember me from years back when my alternator let go in my black R32 around mill park and you and your boys helped me out, thanks heaps for that bro. Will send you an sms if im in the area again.
  23. Rims have been sitting in the spare room for a while because I've been waiting for my car to be finished. Car is just about complete and first drive I take, 5 minutes in, I run over a 3 inch nail. Completely destroyed the previous Dunlop 9000's, not sure if there has been damage to the rims just yet . Oh well, so I finally decided to put these babies on (wasn't going to until I flared my rear guards). We raised the rear suspension up a bit more and they fitted fine. Only rubs when I'm hard cornering but that will go away once the guards are done next week. Love the way they turned out on the car! Hmm, I'm not sure why it won't give me an option to post pictures on this thread but you can see them on my blog if you wish over at http://vrsatyle.wordpress.com/photos/
  24. That red VL that netted 470-something rwkw sounded insane. Alot of nice cars there. I'm covered in grease for some reason though, there's black streaks of grease all over back of my jacket and back of my pants...wouldn't have a clue how it got there, I didn't sit down anywhere the entire night. Yeah, I only got home just now as well. I live in geelong but got home fairly quick. I left there around 11pm. Was suprised to see not one cop on the road on my way home besides a single booze bus just outside the city.
