Four Door Rear On A Two Door R33?
daslingdale replied to daslingdale's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Like pretty much impossible? Or if it was possible it would just cost too much and require a lot of custom work? -
Four Door Rear On A Two Door R33?
daslingdale replied to daslingdale's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Never seen a picture of anyone doing it. But it's just the four door boot and rear tail light setup. But imagine that as a two door? And without the wing. I honestly wish I had a picture. -
I want to change the rear of my R33. I never really liked it. Don't get me wrong... I love the tail lights just... nothing else. Wait no it's not that I don't like it it's more I love the rear of the four doors much much more. Want something smoother since it's a smooth car. And it would look unique. I haven't see anyone doing this or asking about it. So I thought I might leap in there. I am guessing maybe getting a halfcut and implementing the rear on my two door? Does anyone know both rears really well? Does anything match up? If there is an existing topic then give me some search pointers or something? Cheers

Quick Question About Boost.
daslingdale replied to daslingdale's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
It was the full JJR system with the Xforce Cat. It is the loudest I would go for an exhaust in this car but the only problem is that it drones under load. Can hurt the ears. There is no centre muffler with this system. It took so long because one of the bolts to the turbo was pretty hard to get to. We didn't have the right tools to reach it and the bolts thread was slightly stripped. And the who ever welded the cat was the worst welder. They left a blob right where the sensor goes so we had to drill it out to get it to fit. If it all went smooth then it would have taken half the time. Oh and we got Macca's so that took up time haha. I will give my final thoughts on the system once it wears in a bit. For the price it's still a great buy regardless. Just wish it sounded a bit more smoother. -
Quick Question About Boost.
daslingdale replied to daslingdale's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I just have the standard boost gauge in the dash. So I have no idea. But thanks for the information everyone... It helped massive. My mate fitted it all today after eight bloody hours. Got him to do it as he is in the trade and knows more about the right way to undo and tighten bolts. Took so long as there was a few brick walls to jump when fitting. Not a fan of the system. Way too loud... It drones under load so much it hurts and it does not sound like a RB anymore if that makes sense. Hopefully it is worth the performance after I give it a bit when it wears in properly. -
Fitting an exhaust myself today. It's a full turbo back system. Just wondering how much boost will I be running? And is it safe? Everything else is stock. I don't have a boost controller yet and I don't want to risk decimating my turbo. I didn't think it would be an issue since R33's only run 7psi standard and I couldn't imagine it leaping high enough to cause damage. But best to be safe. I tried searching but this is urgent. Cheers

I got a brand new Cooling Pro Stealth intercooler for my Series II R33. I want to paint it black to make it even more stealth. I will all so be fitting it myself. I read somewhere that you should sand the intercooler down before applying the paint. Anyone know anything about this? I know with painting most things it's best to sand it down so the paint sticks better. But I am a bit worried about doing it to a brand new intercooler. And also does anyone have a picture of them having this kit fitted? I need a picture of where the pipes join up to. Did anyone come across any problems when fitting this kit, like modifications they needed to make? Thanks.

Five Playstation 3 Games & A Game Guide
daslingdale replied to daslingdale's topic in For Sale (Other Items)
Sorry. Not keen on selling separately. I am now willing to throw in Need For Speed: ProStreet. -
Selling five Playstation 3 games as a package. I don't use my Playstation 3 anymore, but I do want it for Grand Turismo 5 when it finally comes out. Here is what I have... Grand Theft Auto IV Resident Evil 5 Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Game Of The Year Edition) The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Game Guide) The discs, booklets and cover art slips are in new condition. The actual plastic sleeve for the cases have some reminiscence of the price tags left behind. Price is $300.00 for the lot. If you need them posted then I can quote you later. Prefer pick ups or I can even meet someone halfway.

So far there is a buyer. But still feel free to express interest and I will let you know if the deal falls through or not.

Clever. I might get the one online though since I do like the boot lip too.
-
You are right. But how did you make yours for so little? Did you just modify a roof spoiler intended for another car? Very interested.

I am looking at doing the whole deal with upgrading my automatic transmission. Getting it strengthened, oil cooler, high stall torque converter and adapting to do manual shifts. I have seen someone use a B&M ratchet shifter on here but I am not completely sold. I am looking for something that if you where to pull the gear stick down it would pull down further and make a bit more of a thud than a clicking sound. Something that replicates a regular manual shifter just with the up and down movements to select gears. If anyone went to the motorshow a year or so ago and lined up to drive the Evolution simulator will know exactly what I mean. Please no one reply saying "Just get a manual"... As torque converters own my life.

You can get them from the UK. Considering it myself. http://www.nicedeals.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=5895 Good looking boot lip too.

R33 Series 2 Aftermarket Front Bar.
daslingdale replied to NYTSKY's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Go something that isn't too chunky or too wide looking. Might look bad not having flared rear guards like the GT-R's? -
That's the selling point right there.

Shops To Purchase Body Kits From?
daslingdale replied to Jay_stylz's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Tried going on that site but it doesn't work. Maybe they have cottoned on to this forum? lol -
Thanks mate. I remember those drill bits in wood work in high school. Good times.

Thanks mate, that saves me from buying everything at once. I plan to get a carbon fibre GT-R wing with a carbon fibre Garage Defend blade mounted on top of that. But that setup being so expensive ($1,800 just for the GT-R support in carbon fibre) I might opt for just a GT wing or a lip. I do like those flush boots but I got quoted $1,400 for one. Wouldn't mind one if I could get it cheaper? I currently have a GT-R wing on mine and it weighs a tonne. It takes a lot of effort just to open it. So five kilos will be dreamy haha!
-
Let's say I am buying an OEM carbon fibre boot lid and that I want to mount a wing on it eventually. Will drilling holes in carbon fibre cause damage to it? Like cracking? Loosening the weave? How much lighter is dry carbon compared to wet carbon? Can the price difference be justified? What does everyone think of Sniper Racing carbon fibre products? Cheers.

Removing Fog Light/indicator Housing & Grill.
daslingdale replied to daslingdale's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Thanks mate. I was just really worried about breaking the clips that hold everything on. I'll give it a go anyway this weekend hopefully. -
Removing Fog Light/indicator Housing & Grill.
daslingdale replied to daslingdale's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Anyone? I will give it a go but I don't want to break them. -
I'll look out for you. Lucky there isn't many R34's in Sunbury.
-
I want a turbo back exhaust from the one company. If I did that from the likes of lets say HKS... Then I would be broke. And sorry I should have been more specific.
