Cheers. For the write up. Did my clock spring today, horn now works and I managed to clear the abs light after I stupidly unplugged couple things at an earlier foray with battery connected. Thumbs up to Cockram Nissan in Christchurch, 5 mins on phone at 3pm and it was on my doorstep in Napier at 9am in morning. $340 Must be a common thing as they had three already in stock. Might add couple pics on weekend

Well after all that the car already had a Ryco 436 on it from the previous owner... How much oil do people put in their VQ35DE engines??? Googling says 4.6L which approximates what drained out. Seems odd when the smaller 2.5L V6 was very hungry for a full 5 on oil and filter changes. Asking as its so damn hard to clearly on dipstick with clean oil. Have a slight belt squeal on cold start up recently, hope its just from parking in dusty yard...???

Fueled up after a full tank of my normal driving with putting the foot down a couple of times to ahem... Blow the cobwebs out. 50/50 open road and city driving. 350RX 616.5km 67.3L which by my maths is 9.16km/L and pretty much about same as what I was getting from the 250RS.

My PM35 talked to me in Japanese today as I pulled into drive way after some local run about trips. No Fault codes showing and the Carrozia stereo system was turned off. Any ideas???

Jealous of you, seems much more Stageas to choose from down there, seem more popular down south for some reason. I'm in Hawke's Bay.

Cheers, yeah pretty clean for its age, owner garaged it. I should take some nicer pics before it gets the inevetible car park scars and cat scratches on the bonnet. We have three who seem to think a warm bonnet is a cat hotel in the winter

They must fail pretty often too, annoyed all the wreckers for ages and they seemed as rare as rocking horse shit. Saw lots of them still attached to "rear cut" assemblies, guess they don't want to be left with rear cut that has brake light missing...

Mine had the same thing. I used to do electronic assembly for a job so tried to fix it. After much internet searching it seems it is a sealed unit. As it was buggered I thought nothing to lose if try to pull apart. The red lens is glued PERMANENTLY into the black part and I knew that. VERY carefully tried to prise it out, got about 80% before cracking the red lens which is a WOF fail here anyway. Once I got inside the leds had a dry break somewhere but so tiny could not pin point it. At this point I realised if I'd just cut my losses and cut in from the back through the black plastic I could have put a new led of some kind inside there like you plan to do. In the end I bought a new one via Cockram Nissan in Christchurch for about $NZ 350ish as warrant was due soon. Its pretty easy to pop of that interior panel, then there are about 5x10mm nuts to undo, one elec plug and the washer hose bit to pull off.

On my old 2001 M35 the boot would try to push me in the back with my bike on cold mornings, rest of the time they worked nicely. Pity they are not like the Toyota Hiace ones that you can rotate a section once open to lock them open.

Thanks guys. Well got the Wagon (PM35 350RX) and had proper drive on way home. Very impressed and the 5 speed auto is way better behaved on the big hills. It came with one of those aftermarket English owners manuals, supposedly only 100kg heavier than the 250RS but carries it better. Prob the 17 inch wheels make a difference, other wagon had 16's. This one has 3 brands of mismatched and 2 worn tyres and still drives beautiful and straight, will sort new tyres soon. Has Pioneer Carrozia HDD radio, pretty much sussed out how it all works, find the reversing camera bit gimmicky and no substitute for knowing the size and feel of your car with the wing mirrors instead. Neck muscles were tad sore next day, think would have fared worse if not as fit from my mountain bike nd motorbike riding. Not too familiar with car damage, I suppose what you are saying explains that rip/failure in panel by window. Not aware of any previous damage, first NZ owner, bought from dealer and was mint condition around. The other car had heavy frontal damage, fully folded bonnet and dumped all his engine oil on road.
