  1. It doesn't beg shit. No one is forcing the indigenous to celebrate Australia Day, as the above SJW statement suggests. Do your own thing. Just leave the rest of us the fk alone and stop trying to force us to mourn their invasion day. I wouldn't force anyone who wasn't Australian to cull their celebrations on Anzac Day; it's a day for me and anyone else who wants to, to mourn. Everyone else can do what they want without me preaching to them that they need to pay their respects to my fallen elders and cull their celebrations that aren't even connected to the day anymore. I might be wrong but the Filipinos don't have a Spanish invasion day, nor do I see the Vietnamese complaining that the French blessed them with steak, chips and castles. Patrick if I see one more link from pedestrian.tv or newmatilda I'm going to have to file you permanently under SJW; that's two strikes buddy.
  2. All the invasion day crap is outdated and irrelevant, as is the true origin of Australia Day. Most people these days don't give a shit what happened over 200 years ago, hence a lot of people couldn't tell you the real meaning behind it Australia Day. Whether you like it or not, it's since evolved into a day of simply being proud of our country and what it means to be an Australian today. It has little connection to the past other than what the government run events and formalities connect to it. With the original purpose lost in translation and left in the past, so too should the counter purpose of the day, being an Aboriginal day of mourning. Leave them both in the past and out of Australia Day altogether. No need for a date change, just don't draw a "perpetually offended on behalf of other people" connection between the modern pissup/celebration and NSW being landed in over 200 years ago; then there's no real issue. It's a day of bbqs, beer and fun with multiple cultures and all but a minority of people in the country are happy with that. Can't please everyone anyway. nb: honestly surprised Australia hasn't already conceded a name change to invasion day, given we already pander everything else to outspoken minorities in the hope of not offending.
  3. Public holidays are meaningless to unemployed abos jus sayin
  4. SILENCE
  5. Misappropriation seems to be the latest SJW buzz word
  6. Just do it Leigh ffs
  7. Just saying, this is how annoying extreme lefties are. I would put up with that f**kbaggery over the whining about people wanting more money/land.
  8. Will take 100 southern cross tattooed bogans screaming out fk yeah Australia etc. over one left wing nut being offended on behalf of other people and being a killjoy on my public holiday
  9. Can easily be a headgasket (the early start of one). Pressure test the cooling system for leaks. Inspect inside the radiator itself for any milky deposits and have a look/smell of your oil too. The coolant is going somewhere, either leaking out or getting burned up in combustion once the engine is warm.
  10. Pretty clever idea^ Though you hurt your resale to Chinese if you're investing or planning on moving it on At least the media are acknowledging it now, but it seems to be an acceptance/apathetic acknowledgement of it happening. Oh well...wonder how the slowing Chinese economy will affect it? Acceleration or deceleration?
  11. And above all...take your time! The perfect car won't come in a week (it may), but some people spend months, even years looking for the right car. 65k is a lot of money to put into a toy, so don't rush into anything and all those pre-purchase checks like mechanical inspections and even getting forum members from interstate to have a look for you can save you a lot of money down the track.
  12. It's still no huge deal IMO, stock suspension can be had for / borrowed pretty cheap. Put that in there to clear the RWC and put the other suspension back in once done.
  13. Over to Barry's for a metal gasket, ARP studs timing belt / water pump. A freshen up here and there. Was looking at that RB25/30 in for sale section for $3000, seemed too good to pass up, but in the end it's lucky dip, as is any second hand engine. My bottom end was running flawlessly and I was happy with power level so the argument was if I could get out of it for a couple of grand and have the work guaranteed then that's the sensible option. Engine will be more track prepared once done and I'll look at an oil cooler / alum radiator too.
  14. Not that you'll die from that, but you can still get necrosis if untreated My flesh started dying so I decided that was time to get some antis
  15. Coilover suspension, all modern Skylines have non-adjustable coilover suspension from factory - this term "coilover" simply refers to a type of suspension where the spring sits around the strut, so you'll need to be more specific than just using that term. When you say coilover suspension, do you mean to say that the vehicle has had its coilovers changed for adjustable aftermarket coilovers? Adjustable coilovers are technically illegal if they can be adjusted to lower the vehicle lower than a legal ride height (100mm). Vicroads *may* or may not call you up on that when it comes to a RWC / getting registered. However, in saying that, as far as driving around with it goes, you shouldn't have any trouble from police etc. as long as your vehicle isn't set too low. Yes 34s will hold their value; they are the last of the true Skylines, as R35 are not really considered a Skyline by Nissan either. They may come down a little in price as R35s do, however we may see a day where an R34 well kept is worth more than an average R35. I think all GTRs, 32/33/34 are going to hold their value over he next decade, perhaps even see an increase as long as they are well kept. 65k is plenty for a well kept 34 with some nice modifications (if desired), be it interstate or local. Interstate, you need to account for ~$700-1000 transporting from (worst case scenario) WA. Allow another $600-1000 for your flights to go view a potential car over there. RWC doesn't really come into it as you can negotiate that off the price of an interstate vehicle if it's stated as included; it's a cost factor that has to be paid either way. I recommend considering interstate cars, as many gems can be found where other people in your state don't want to travel to buy something; as a buyer you're competing with buyers from your local market when it comes to finding bargains / gems. There is a competitive advantage for those who are happy to put in the effort to find the right car for them. I do not know about common problems but your friend's blanket statement about unreliability is false - this all comes down to the individual car and to make a generalisation based only on your experiences with a vehicle is silly. There are plenty of RB26s with no problems, however they do reputably tend to suffer from oil feed issues (there are remedies / preventions for these; larger oil pump, bigger sump etc.). Generally not a huge issue unless you are tracking it or doing a lot of hard driving in the street.
  16. wtf is with morons doing 60km/h through the whole Burnley tunnel? It changes to 80 about 200 metres into it, yet three lanes of traffic manage to ignore the 3 sets of signs saying 80, feathering their brakes around 58km/h. So rage inducing. Somehow they notice the 80 signs after the tunnel and the 60 before it, but nothing in between?
  17. Not sure if your area sees white tails, but if a white tail gets you, you won't cop it bad for a couple of days...be like a mosquito bite until then.

  19. Took me one track day to do the head gasket as a newbie. However... This was an unopened engine with 270rwkw that has been driven hard every day for the last 6-7 years including a lot of mountain runs. And on a high speed track like PI where I didn't take it easy, I can see why it went. But I'll be back with a metal gasket and a couple of coolers
  20. My car broke down It was just vapour lock I'm Joe Namath

  22. All stories of tragedy like that do is remind me (not that I needed reminding) how ridiculously fked it is that our biggest newsworthy problem a week or two ago was a sportsman asking an interviewer out for a drink Priorities
