Think they left it out because the journos would have asked for a few details at the scene and cops neglected to mention it was stolen / hadn't established it at the time. I'm just surprised they haven't updated the report. But at the same time, a motorcyclist dying doesn't constitute coverage these days, which is pretty sad, both because of the media's attitude and that it is so common..the latter probably causing the former. We'd rather here about the freak death of a cricketer who turns out was every Australian's best friend, that I'd never heard of prior to his death.

I'd say a relevant detail given bike was being ridden with no number plates and speed was clearly a factor in the accident. Poor woman driving is being discredited/FBshamed by all these motorcyclists for being a shit driver when it's obvious he was speeding on a bike that wasn't his to begin with.

This, which is the reason I'm not on the VicPol FB saying he deserved it. But I do wish it was more widely reported as stolen rather than credited as his bike, cause that seems to have been largely swept under the rug and family/friends certainly won't make mention of that. Very surprised the media missed that or police neglected to mention - their page is littered with reports of stolen vehicles involved in crashes or other crimes.

There's some "interesting" looking people offering condolences/RIP to this Rhys character...think I have an idea what he looks like already.
