Eek...where there's smoke there's fire! Some cars are just full of surprises and it's often a reflection of overall neglect somewhere in its life. Hard to tell dodgy sellers from the ignorant. So many times I've had a seller adamant that their car is perfect, then quizzed them on certain noises and the response comes back "oh it's been like that since I've owned it" or "I didn't notice that". My logic is, if they weren't aware of that...then what else haven't they noticed? My first clue in a car's overall condition is the interior. Interiors are the first to show wear when a car has been neglected. Also a reflection of the seller's personality - if they don't care about where they are sitting, there's a good chance the rest of the car gets the same treatment!

It's local knowledge that they are Chinese I was just stereotyping / being honest

That depends how specific you're talking... Cause I can setup a mean game of jenga

Is that going rate in that area? Old place in FTG was $400 a week house worth about 600-650k. I think they put it back up for that, too.

Protip for garage kitchen access...get a storage tub from bunnings and put it just inside the garage near kitchen door. So handy to throw bottles/cardboard/paper/fingernails into.

Monash and the south gippy, but not far from eastlink either. Basically I can get anywhere reasonably quickly. Except the city. But on a good traffic day that would still be only ~40 mins.

I thought my double was small - is that a 5.5 x 6 and your car just takes up a shitload of it?
-
Why V-town? Pretty close to your folks now. You can go yabbying in the dell. Will swing past next time I visit the olds. Loving my freeway access in the south east though. Aaron/Sunkist and I just realised we live 2-3 mins from each other now - car working bees coming right up.

I'm outspoken enough that most people are confronted with this cognitive dissonance at some point in their lives

Change flywheel? Quick revving
Birds replied to AusFreak's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Interesting to hear that sort of camaraderie which I think people take for granted here. Even as imports are getting rarer and rarer, people here still don't even wave at each other as they drive past. -

Wow Geoff has been in the game a long time. I remember looking at getting a car through him 13-14 years ago I think it was a flat rate fee for their services too, like $1000. -
Surely you mean blind... I'd run with the 15 wipe system, the assumption that after 15 wipes there should be nothing left anyway

Fair point, however those are freak accidents and the kind of vehicles I'm into haven't even been tested by ANCAP, so it's still irrelevant to me! Maybe when I'm looking for a family car I'll pay attention... On a related note, I loathe the idea that some people might drive more carelessly or with inflated confidence in the safety of their vehicle because it got 5 stars. Things like lane departure warnings bandaid issues like irresponsibly driving while fatigued. Vehicles to most of us are an A to B daily part of life and because of this we lose touch with the reality that thousands of kilograms are moving at high speed and depending entirely on a lack of human error. Safety systems to a car company are 100% profit and marketing/competition, nothing altruistic. Driver education and more difficult licensing are initiatives that need to come from governments and undermine the safety issues that car manufacturers try to address. /rant I think roads would be a lot safer if everyone had the experience of riding a motorcycle at least once to experience the reality of vulnerability and fragility - riding/driving in constant fear is much better than complacency!

That looks like it sounds worse than it looks I'll stick with Varex and keep preaching it...for the $250 it cost me at the time, the system looks factory enough that it's fooled the few cops who've had a look underneath and remote operation means it's quiet whenever/wherever/whatever, then instantly back to sporty. Any other method about it is IMO going to look / sound crap or have you spending the same amount of money or more for something that others have already put R&D into. Not saying it can't be improved but why bother when it works so well already!

Change flywheel? Quick revving

I have a lightened flywheel but only because it's been machined to the point of no return -
You may have just uncovered the reason why a form of transportation built around near perfect number crunching and mechanical reliability is less punctual than a bus.

I couldn't give a shit about ancap lol I'm sure it makes the event of an accident safer for you, but I bet there are people gravitating towards high ancap ratings who don't bother with the more important basics - knowing your vehicle in and out of control, watching everything around you and looking well ahead!

Lightened flywheel is fine but I'd only bother with it if already doing a clutch change etc. Yes it will make engine speed decrease quicker. It will also make take off proportionally harder / require more revs because of less kinetic energy stored inside it to get the vehicle moving. So I wouldn't recommend it for a daily driver with a button clutch in bumper to bumper traffic. As mentioned before, idle can be less stable too and may not be happy below ~1000rpm, depending how light it is. -
Often also replaced with non-HID during panel beating OP can you confirm the reason behind the lights?

Get a lock up garage? Insanity with an R34 GTR!! I assume you have off street or hidden parking at least?
