Same thing happened with club rego and RWC in Vic. Some twits made their own car clubs just for cheap rego and no roadworthy / pink slip required, as it was up to the club to deem it roadworthy...started driving their highly modified and race cars on the road so the cops and Vicroads put a stop to it. -

vic External Oil Pump Kit RB26/RB30
Birds posted a topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Bought this external oil pump kit to use in my 26/30 build, but my engine builder believes it will be overkill for my street driven application at the expense of my air conditioning, so I've decided to stick with an upgraded internal pump instead. This kit allows you to ditch the notorious internal oil pump setup and take those failure prone components out of the equation. For those who don't have a spare 10k to dump on dry sump, this is the next best thing to insure your expensive engine build or high revving race engine that will see more action than mine. Everything is in new/unused condition - I believe the previous owner had it test fitted to their engine before they decided to part out their project, so there are handling/tool marks on the parts, but they otherwise look great. My kit includes: - Ross Tuffbond Race Balancer (306510, rated to 1000hp), with 20% and 7% underdrive pulleys (protects your water and P/S pumps at high RPM), gilmer belt drive and belt guard washer - Moroso Single Stage External Pump w/ gilmer drive - Bracket for pump mounting (replaces your air con compressor) - Gilmer belt - Hoses/lines with AN fittings What you see is what you get. Only thing I don't have is bolts for the bracket. You'll also need to tap your sump to run a line to the pump. From my googling, the balancer is RB30 fitment - you MAY be able to use this on an RB26, but please do your own research - I'm unfamiliar with crank/ancillary similarities. Likewise, I believe the AC bracket is designed for an RB30 - I don't know if the AC mounts differ on RB26. How it will look setup (different parts but much the same deal) To buy a similar kit brand new, you're looking at around 3k from Ross Performance: https://rossperformanceparts.com/product/nissan-rb-wet-sump-kit-single-stage-2/ I'm looking for $1800ono - same cost as a Tomei internal pump. I may be willing to separate the pump/bracket/belt/hoses as I can still use the balancer in my build. Located western suburbs Melbourne. Happy to post at buyer's expense. -
The right to bear arms made more sense when single shot rifles took 30 seconds to reload and had dismal accuracy at anything over 50 yards

The only thing that bothers me more than people judging long term play success by intraday SP is fluctuation in that long term play's SP based on daily oil price.

That's fair enough, it's not for everyone. In fact I'd say there are a minority of people who can put their money into a share like this and play the long game without getting emotional about paper highs and lows. Spec shares are a long game with a high chance of not paying off at all. But they are the only way to make serious coin out of the stock market with considerably less money. Apple, Amazon, Fortescue Metals etc. were all considered spec shares at one point. Took years to do anything, but once they did...
-
From an investment in the company point of view, it certainly was. You exited before a major announcement that was the whole reason to be in the share and could have gone either way - fortunately for you it went in your favour. But if we ask why you invested in the share in the first place - if it was to take a gamble on making money out of the project, then you basically withdrew your bet before he roulette ball stopped spinning. You won't lose but you don't win anything either.

That's like 10,000 88E shares

lol benchrest That shit is all about fine adjustment for optimum grouping and they spend ridiculous amounts of money on it too. Usually old as fk... Haven't been to Springvale for a while but when I do it's a 500 round box of cheap shit ammo that I burn through as fast as a bolt action will let me. Between know-it-all range officers, people being weird about what ammunition they use and Asian girls taking up all the prone mats / taking half an hour to get off 10 shots, motivation to return is down the shitter.

Argh...can't fathom how people have the skill to pull off custom builds like these and not end up with a Frankenstein. -

Yeah well, as you can see those claims were exaggerated and likely released by PR of the anti-ethanol vested interest parties... Truth is most cars made in the 90s can handle it for many years and it's more the switching back and forth between E85 and unleaded that cracks them over time. Fuel lines should be replaced in a 20-25 year old car anyway. Same goes for E85 compatible fuel pumps. My 040s die from use before E85 kills them.
-
Shout out to Nissan for supplying me a non ABS pinion seal and not being able to tell this until after we've destroyed the old one
-
Braided E85 fuel lines in I think the standard 23 year old ones did well to last 5 years on the stuff, but when it starts dripping fuel on your garage floor and you notice elevated levels of euphoria whilst driving it's probably time to do things properly

So what's the group buy then?

Two big singles...can you not remove the SLI bridge and run off one display adaptor most of the time, then connect them when needed? That PC I put together had two 1080ti 11gb, so unless you're going Quattro / CAD rendering cards, it was pretty much the best gaming card you could get at the current time.
-
Yeah true, but that rings true for any flagship / top end product. That $2400 10 core i7 isn't twice as fast as the 8 core for half its price. IMO the best balance between obsoletion and spending is the upper midrange. Last a good few years and allows an upgrade or two if necessary before another build. Or in my case make it last 10 years...
-
Was mucking around with Scorptec's custom build web app and came to a very awesome build with 5k. 1080ti SLI... Also tried making the best PC I could within reason, using $2400 CPU etc. Came up around 10k...surprisingly cheap for the horsepower.

Bout 8k from my last entry I think, currently worth 4k
